The Cream rose to the top as always. Love the Vader/Midnight Combo. Big wins for Brody and Adonis as well. Adonis jumps to a 1-0 lead over Superstar even though he doesn't seem committed to the idea of this series... Brody scores a brutal win over Superfly to become number one contender... That should make our friend, Crossbones, happy. Making Vader part of Cornette's stable just seemed like a natural step... Will this feud with Dr Death be a stepping stone towards the gold? And speaking of gold... OHHH, YEAH! With Sensational Sherri in his corner, Macho Man could be starting another historic title reign. Always appreciate the continued interest, my friend... Many thanks!

Many thanks! Indeed... This makes me happy! As well as another title reign of madness! Since I'm positioning Race as a face champion, I'm pretty stoked that Brody earned the top contender spot... He was definitely the heel in that confrontation with Snuka - a role I expect he will continue to play during his stay in SCW. Always a pleasure to see you in the front row, brotha... Keeping the faith alive!

Sunrise Coast Wrestling SCW Energy #5 00.Oct.31 Daily's Place, Jacksonville, FL
Hosted by: Gordon Solie & Lance Russell
Iron Sheik and Rock Riddle made an unscheduled appearance to complain about Kurt Angle's interference during the SCW National Heavyweight Championship match against Harley Race at Ring Of Fire #1. Commissioner Teddy Long interrupted their rant, stating that Sheik was going to have a match right now. The crowd roared when Angle marched towards the ring!
KURT ANGLE def. Iron Sheik (w/ Rock Riddle). **1/2 - Angle pinned Sheik after an OLYMPIC SLAM. -- Tokens: Angle 1 - Sheik 6 - Angle was on fire! Harley Race showed up at ringside before Riddle had a chance to get involved. - Gordon Solie post-match interview with Angle. Excited about his victory, Angle stated that he would like a rubber match against his rival. Riddle appeared and suggested a tag team match pitting Angle and Race against Sheik and the recently named number one contender for the SCW National Heavyweight Championship, Bruiser Brody. Before Angle could respond, Race came out and accepted the challenge!
2 COLD SCORPIO & MARCUS ALEXANDER BAGWELL def. Bill & Randy Mulkey. * - Scorpio pinned Bill after a DISS THAT DON'T MISS. -- Tokens: Bagwell 1 - The Mulkeys shocked their opponents with a near fall on Bagwell, who was returning to action following an injury suffered at the hands of Bob Orton Jr & Don Muraco. It did not take long for Scorpio & Bagwell to regroup for a decisive victory.
Melina showed up at the commentary table for a brief conversation with Gordon Solie and Lance Russell. She admitted that she loves being the center of attention and remains on the lookout for other players that want to make an impact.
BRIAN BLAIR (w/ Jim Brunzell) def. Buddy Rose. ** - Blair finished Rose with a SLEEPER. -- Tokens: n/a - This was the second Buddy Rose Open Challenge and the crowd groaned when his opponent appeared because it was obviously George South wearing a mask. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell rushed the ringside area, ripping off South's mask to reveal his identity. In order to hold onto his dignity, Rose reluctantly accepted Blair as his opponent.
BOB ORTON JR & DON MURACO def. Manny Fernandez & Thunderbolt Patterson. ***1/2 - Muraco pinned Patterson <pin save counter> after teaming with Orton for a spike piledriver. -- Tokens: Orton 5 - Fernandez 1, Patterson 3 - For the second time on the card, Gary Michael Cappetta's introductions went unfinished. Orton & Muraco stormed the ring, blindsiding their opponents before they had a chance to react. <Muraco started the match against Fernandez on Level 3 Offense.> - Fernandez broke up a near fall after Orton dropped Patterson with a SUPERPLEX. While the referee was escorting Fernandez back to his corner, Orton and Muraco punished Patterson with an illegal double team combination. 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell rushed the ring to protest the decision while Orton & Muraco made a strategic withdrawal.
STAN HANSEN def. Dan Severn. dud - Hansen pinned Severn after a LARIAT. -- Tokens: n/a - This was clearly not the kind of in-ring debut that Severn wanted and it left many fans wondering if he was truly as dangerous as he claimed.
BIG VAN VADER (w/ Jim Cornette) def. Davey Boy Smith (w/ Dynamite Kid). * - Vader pinned Smith after a RELEASED POWERBOMB. -- Tokens: Smith 1 - Pleased with Vader's overwhelming victory, Cornette proceeded to verbally run down Steve William after the bell. Williams marched towards the ring and security flooded the area to prevent a brawl. Commissioner Teddy Long announced that Williams and Vader would get their chance to face each other at Ring Of Fire #2, but if either engaged the other before that time, that man would be suspended indefinitely!
Lance Russell reviewed the card for Ring Of Fire #2: - Harley Race (c) vs. Bruiser Brody for the SCW National Heavyweight Championship - Steve Williams vs. Big Van Vader - Team Survivor Challenge: 2 Cold Scorpio, Marcus Alexander Bagwell, Manny Fernandez & Thunderbolt Patterson vs. Bob Orton Jr, Don Muraco, Curt Hennig & Tully Blanchard - More to come!
Rob Van Dam vs. Eddie Gilbert in a Lumberjack match resulted in a no contest. NR - This match was thrown out when a wild brawl erupted among the lumberjacks out on the floor. -- Tokens: n/a - Lumberjacks: Sandman, Manny Fernandez, Thunderbolt Patterson, Brian Blair, Jim Brunzell, Ox Baker, Bob Orton Jr, Don Muraco, Curt Hennig and Tully Blanchard. - This was a recipe for disaster and the situation instantly spiraled out of control! Sandman attacked Gilbert with a Singapore cane while Baker cracked RVD across the back with a bullwhip. Obviously, this feud was far from over.

Those dice are busy and probably a little dizzy. Lumberjack match sounds like it need a multi person match to solve. Rose clearly cheated by the Bees as he was prepared to wrestle Mr. South. Go our Olympic hero.

Go our Olympic hero. Have to admit that Lumberjack match was a crazy idea -- You never get a clean decision in those things... But, we do have some of those participants competing in a Team Survivor Challenge on the next Ring Of Fire... No doubt it will be off the chain as well. I'm happy that Angle was able to defeat Iron Sheik, forcing a rubber match... And Buddy Rose clearly realizes he was cheated as well... Maybe he'll introduce some backup if the Bees are going to be all up in his BZZZZZZ... HA! Sorry, I couldn't pass up that one. Between this fed and my IPW, the dice remain as dizzy as ever, my friend... Many thanks for staying tuned!

I like that team of Thunderbolt Patterson and Manny Fernandez. Did they team in real life?
