He seemed to have aged quickly from 2074 to 2079 and again in 2087. I always figured he had blond hair when I was a kid with black and white cards, but alas, his dome is white. Can anyone pinpoint his age as a rookie?

At this point, probably in his 80s.

While Sam did look young in his 2074 art he did have a full military career in which he rose to a high rank. Taking that into account id guess he's in atleast his 90s but honestly the math doesn't really add up. If you feel you need to explain his age just say it's future stuff. I find that is the best way to solve any continuity errors in cotg.

Lol. In Sam's original 2087 card he looked pretty old. Like he could been wrong side of 50. I agree that to explain his longevity is future stuff. Guess average life expectancy by then would be increased.

I got bored trying to figure it out and killed him off in my fed. Late 80âs-early 90âs for sure.

I would have to say 85-90 for sure but Tom alluded to the fact that aging has slowed in the far-flung future.

It's not the longevity, I agree that he is probably 80 or 90 now. It's the fast aging in the beginning. In his 2074 card he looks like a baby straight out of the military (maybe taking some anti-aging drugs like in Traveller rpg) then boom! he ages quickly in a little over a decade (13 years). But then you look at his even later card (Commando Sam) and he looks like a 2087 Sam again, maybe a touch older.

Sam is old enough to know better, but young enough not to care! ððĪŠð

You guys are missing the obvious answer. It is not the same Commander Sam. When one starts to get old and show his age the American military replaces him with a new, younger model. The real question is, is it cloning or LMD?
