The Capital Wrestling Federation is my Legends fed consisting of mostly official cards with some bootlegs sprinkled in. Our home base is the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia, not the Department of Motor Vehicles), however the promotion will travel outside of this area fairly regularly.
* There will be 52 events give or take per 'year', consisting of TV Tapings, House Shows and to start, 3 Supercards. They are as follows:
Beltway Bash This supercard takes place in April at the Capital Centre in Landover, MD (my favorite wrestling venue and one where I spent countless hours as a kid absolutely engrossed in the action). The event will be available on closed-circuit television.
Showdown at Citrus This supercard takes place in August at the outdoors Florida Citrus Bowl (no, not Camping World Stadium) in Orlando, FL (about 20 minutes from here, just up I-4). Florida in August đ„đ„đ„ This event will also be available on closed-circuit television.
Wrestlecade The marquee supercard. Takes place in December and is the final show of the year. Several cities are reportedly in negotiations to host this event which will be available on a pay-per-view basis. (Note: I realize there is already an event called Wrestlecade IRL, but I've been using this name since the days of my action figure wrestling fed WAYYYYYY back in the day. I grew up on the NWA and WWF and simply combined Starrcade and Wrestlemania so I'm sticking with it. Genius I know.)
Also scheduled is a 'supercard caliber' five city house show tour dubbed Legends of the Fall that will take place in October/November. Locations TBD. These events are non-televised, however updates and clips will be shown on CWF's syndicated television show Friday Night Frenzy.
* The initial roster size is 50 (including managers). Ring announcers, interviewers, referees, "enhancement talent" i.e. those with the *automatically loses when a finisher is used gimmick, 'little people' and bears are not included but are fair game to use at my discretion.
Note - I used a Roster Construction chart that I created to put my initial roster together, and will use a separate chart for monthly transactions (signings, departures etc). Special thanks to @poisonedshadows and his superior math skills for helping me get the probabilities just right for the chart rolls. Also, he encouraged me to do this so when it sucks and I never post again, blame him đ
* I'm imagining this as a brand new fed with fictional backstories in order to build alliances and rivalries.
* CWF will kick off with a three-night event where the first ever CWF Heavyweight Champion and CWF Tag Team Champions will be crowned.
* The Fabulous Moolah is recognized as the World Women's Champion. while Jushin "Thunder" Liger is recognized as the World Jr. Heavyweight Champion.
I don't know how much time I will have to do this, how long it will continue or even if it will be any good, but I'm giving it a shot.
More details to comeâŠ

This will be amazeballs, Slymm ! All of your one-off supercards have been a blast to read, and I am really looking forward to seeing what you do with a longer-running, episodic fed. I don't think anyone will be blaming me, because it's going to rock, but I will definitely accept praise and donations via PayPal. Really looking forward to your first show, and seeing who your champions are going to be. Welcome to the fray!

Looking forward to reading what you post. I love the area choices. I have so many childhood memories of seeing the WWF at the Cap Centre or watching the Bullets get worked as the crowd for the visiting team went nuts. My 1st and 5th Wrestlemanias that I attended live were Orlando. Canât wait!

We used to go to the Cap Centre every month for either wrestling, the Bullets, the Caps, the Globetrotters, concerts and sometimes even the Ringling Brothers Circus when they came to town. Great memories for sure.

Looking forward to reading the cards. It seems like your promotion is professional enough that they probably won't be invading The Laundromat either...

Capital Wrestling Federation Roster Preview
Fan Favorites Randy Savage, Angelo Poffo & Lanny Poffo Savage has serious history with Ric Flair and is frothing at the mouth to finally get his hands on him. The Nature Boy, Heenan and the other members of the Heenan Family have been taking jabs at the Poffos, even hitting below the belt when referring to Savage's failed marriage. "Dysfunctional" and "the Poffo litterâ are just two things the patriarch Angelo is tired of hearing and like his sons, he too knows how to get down and dirty when it comes to family. Lanny is the youngest, most experienced member of the team, but very popular and possibly the most level-headed. Savage, however is a ticking time bomb who can explode at any moment. Together they look to tear apart the Heenan Family and prove to them that blood is indeed thicker than water.
Barry Windham, Jimmy Valiant & Ronnie Garvin Like many in the locker room, Windham doesnât like Diamond Dallas Page. He doesnât believe his schtick for one second. Although Windham appreciates Page helping others get their life and career back on track, he thinks heâs doing it for all the wrong reasons, himself. Windhamâs old friend Jake Roberts is one of the guys who Page has âreformedâ so to speak, but the fan favorite from Sweetwater, TX believes Page is using Jakeâs personal demons for his own personal gain. Valiant & Garvin are Windhamâs buddies who are as loyal to him as Razor Ramon and Roberts (to an extent) are to Page.
Bob Backlund The popular former WWF World Champion is one of, if not the best wrestlers in the world and has many accomplishments to his credit. His career has been paralleled somewhat by Kurt Angle who is an Olympic Gold Medalist, as well as a former World Champion himself. Both are tremendously gifted athletes who have up until now been pretty respectful of each others accolades. Will things stay peaceful with these two megastars together now under the CWF banner?
Steve Williams & Danny Hodge Williams was dumped from Ted DiBiase's stable down in Mid-South Wrestling and replaced by collegiate standout Mike Rotunda upon entering the CWF. Hodge, a fellow Okie and tough wrestler in his own right has joined the powerhouse Williams to offset the natural wrestling ability of Rotunda. In addition to helping Dr. Death, Hodge would love to get a shot at the World Jr. Heavyweight Championship currently held by Jushin "Thunder" Liger.
Billy Gunn & Ken Shamrock A proficient singles and tag team wrestler, the former Kip James lost his partner Road Dogg Jesse James to a broken arm at the hands of Dan Severn & The Midnight Express following a match in Knoxville, Tennessee. Although willing to go at it alone, Gunn now has backup in his battle with Jim Cornette's team as none other than "The World's Most Dangerous Man"Â has come to the CWF. Having stepped away from the squared circle, all it took was a little prodding from the injured Armstrong (his ass calllllled somebodyyy!) and Shamrock was ready to lace his boots back up knowing he has the opportunity to get his UFC archrival Severn in the ring and make him tap.
Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid (The British Bulldogs) The wildly popular Bulldogs are former WWF Tag Team Champions under the tutelage of none other than the now despised Captain Lou Albano. The power of Davey Boy Smith mixed with the lightning quick speed of Dynamite Kid make them the favorites to lead the division but they will have to fend off teams such as the Midnight Express, the Road Warriors, and Albano's terrifying new pairing of Gorilla Monsoon & Killer Khan.
2 Cold Scorpio & Rob Van Dam This high flying duo are gearing up for a feud with the Playaâz Circle who since the formation of the CWF have been attempting to lure 2 Cold Scorpio to their team. The usually chill Rob Van Dam is Scorpioâs old ECW running buddy but isnât afraid to go hardcore on an opponent, especially a "group of thugs" who have been calling his pal an "Uncle Tom". This one could get ugly.
Ron Simmons The All-American from Florida State is quite possibly the most gifted athlete in the new promotion. A no nonsense fan favorite, Simmons has already been approached by both D;Lo Brown and Ted DiBiase to join their respective teams. But for now, with the fans behind him, it seems Simmons has chosen to go at it alone with one goal in sight, the CWF Heavyweight Championship.Â
Flyinâ Brian This young, good looking, high flying former Cincinnati Bengal is adored by the fans (especially the female fans)! Full of energy and always exciting, Flyinâ Brian is ready to come into his own and reportedly has already signed a series of open contracts. Brian and fellow gridiron star Ron Simmons have expressed interest in possibly teaming up on occasion.
âThrillerâ Mike Jackson A potential World Jr. Heavyweight Title contender, Jackson was mentored by none other than CWF counterpart Danny Hodge. After a losing streak toward the end of his run in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Jackson underwent a bit of a transformation. He adopted the nickname âThrillerâ, started wearing a single sequin glove and began moonwalking to the ring. Wrestling pundits like Bill Apter are uncertain these changes will lead him to better success, but one thing is for certain, the fans sure love it!
Rulebreakers Ric Flair, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard w/Bobby Heenan (The Heenan Family) The Heenan Family has had some choice words for the Poffo Family, or what "The Brain" calls, âThe Poffo litterâ. Flair and Savage have had several run-ins during their career, but none more memorable than when Flair boasted responsibility for the âinsanely jealousâ Macho Man's divorce from then wife, Miss Elizabeth. With Savage seething, the Nature Boy left (some might say "fled") the promotion shortly thereafter. Thereâs nobody who knows Flair better than Anderson & Blanchard, who are former NWA Tag Team Champions and Horsemen teammates. Reunited under the guidance of Heenan, the three dirtiest players in the game are on a collision course with the Poffos to prove who is the superior family.
Killer Khan & Gorilla Monsoon w/ Captain Lou Albano (LOUnacy) Albanoâs new stable of monsters consisting of the dreaded Khan & Monsoon. Albano wants to add more Tag Team Championships to his collection and has instructed this dangerous duo to hurt and maim anyone that gets in his way. As scary as he may be, Khan had better keep an eye out for a man (a ginormous man) he once put on the shelf, Andre the Giant!
Ted DiBiase & Mike Rotunda After DiBiase disbanded his stable in the Mid-South territory (calling Dr. Death the weak link of the team), the mat technician and second generation star resurfaced in the CWF but with a new partner in Mike Rotunda. DiBiase boasts that Rotunda is a significant upgrade over Williams. Rotunda, a standout at Syracuse University claims he can outwrestle Williams new partner Danny Hodge, and together with DiBiase will capture the Tag Team Titles.Â
Mark Henry, DâLo Brown & Jazz (The Playaâz Circle) A group orchestrated by an unknown source with the prime goal of coming together as one to rise up against "the man", (not Ric Flair) but the system itself. Allegedly, this mystery person was wrongfully terminated and blackballed by the wrestling industry for one reason, "the color of their skin". (Not due to the fact he or she may have been awful at his or her job or anything.) D'Lo has taken on an interim leadership role with the group, and is joined by strongman Henry, and Jazz, a former Women's Champion. Believing there is strength in numbers, the Playa'z Circle is always looking to recruit new members, having already offered positions to both 2 Cold Scorpio and Ron Simmons. Scorpio flat out rejected the offer and has been labeled an "Uncle Tom", while Simmons has yet to respond.
Curt Hennig An outstanding second generation wrestler from the Midwest, the cocky Hennig has all the tools needed to get to and remain at the top for a very long time. Having broke away from his father Larry and now forging a path on his own, the word going around the locker room is that several managers are interested in bringing this highly touted talent into their stable.
Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupri Always detested yet always entertaining, the flamboyant George fills the seats wherever he and Cheri venture to. One of the biggest stars in not only professional wrestling, but in Hollywood as well, George takes sole credit for the mainstream popularity of the sport and because of that, turns his nose up at everyone else. He sees himself as the face of the company, a face others would just love to slap.
Beautiful Bobby & Loverboy Dennis w/Jim Cornette (The Midnight Express) The loudmouth Cornette and the Armstrong Family have waged war for years all across the country and now their feud has spilled over into the CWF. The younger Armstrong Brian (now going by Road Dogg Jesse James), was put on the shelf in an attack by the trio of Eaton, Condrey and enforcer Dan Severn. Cornette wants two things, for his team to capture CWF Tag gold, and to put anyone associated with the Armstrongs out of wrestling for good.
Dan Severn w/Jim Cornette Severn was initially hired by Cornetteâs mama to make sure her son wasn't being bullied at ringside. After a match in Knoxville between The Midnight Express and The New Age Outlaws where Cornette had been knocked for a loop earlier on, a three-on-one attack resulted in Severn breaking Road Dogg's arm with the Fujiwara armbar. CWF officials are reviewing the matter and have not ruled out disciplinary action despite the assault occurring under another promotion's banner. Nonetheless, with Ken Shamrock now at Billy Gunn's side in this war, a UFC dream match seems inevitable.
Diamond Dallas Page, Razor Ramon & Jake Roberts (The Diamond Xchange) Page says he is the "X" factor in turning people's lives around, and goes out of his way to make sure everyone knows it. "It's me, it's me, it's DDP" - If you look up the word egotistical in the dictionary you will see a picture of the Diamond Xchange founder. Although he has revitalized the career of Ramon (who in turn has become Page's right hand man), Roberts has had a tougher time adjusting to the DX program despite Page telling others he's really coming along. Barry Windham and Paul Ellering have claimed Page is simply "brainwashing" his guys in order to boost his own ego (and bank account). Page says Windham and his boys Jimmy Valiant and Ronnie Garvin need to mind their own business or they will all feel the BANG!
Disco Inferno The annoyingly over-the-top, Disco Inferno may be a laughing stock by fans and wrestlerâs alike, but he has held titles before and is not one to look past once the bell rings. A potential undercard feud could possibly see Disco squaring (dancing off?) with Mike Jackson.
Iron Mike Sharpe The veteran rulebreaker from Canada is a tough match t for anyone who chooses to sign on the dotted line to meet him. Sometimes teams with fellow journeyman roughhouser Charlie Fulton.
Unaffiliated Kurt Angle The Olympic gold medalist has had a rivalry of sorts with Bob Backlund despite neither of them wrestling in the same promotion at the same time. Angle who has been a fan favorite as well as a rulebreaker has always been respected for his in-ring ability, but when asked about Backlund has made curious remarks that tow the line between admiration and jealousy.Â
Preliminary Wrestlers Randy Mulkey & Bill Mulkey (The Mulkey Brothers) Frogman LeBlanc Nacho Berrera Buddy Wayne Charlie Fulton (Mr. X) Jake Milliman & Kenny Jay Keith Steinborn
Ringside Personnel Gary Michael Cappetta (Ring announcer) Lance Russell (Play-by-play commentator, interviewer for 'Friday Night Frenzy') Gordon Solie (Interviewer, Play-by-play commentator for TV specials and supercards) Bill Apter (Interviewer, journalist) Joey Marella (Senior referee) Dick Woehrle (Referee) Bill Alfonso (Referee) James Beard (Referee) Morgan Dollar (Referee) Dr. Mike Lano (Photographer)
Up next, a preview of opening weekend...
