Wow! Night two was an intense show! I loved seeing the Playa’z Club re-examine their lives! Great exposition with just the right amount of humor—nice job! As for the matches themselves… Not as good a night for the heels this time around (Rudo! Rudo! Rudo!), but they got in some good wins, capped off by Ric Flair’s resplendent victory over Barry Windham. Poor Barry needs some direction—l’ll bet the Brain could help him sort things out. Of course, I almost missed that match because I was still feeling sick after that display of good sportsmanship in the opening encounter. Bleh! Angle is too good to be so…well…good. We need to dirty him up a little.Great card, Slymm! Can’t wait to see what happens on Night Three! Be there for night 3! Thanks for reading my novel 😭😭😭

CWF NEWSWIRE
Luckily, the injury that Barry Windham appeared to suffer during the main event Saturday night turned out to be less severe than initially thought. After being helped to the locker room and then examined by a physician shortly after, it was determined Windham suffered a minor knee contusion and was subsequently recommended to take a few weeks off to heal. Windham scoffed at that notion, and as he iced his knee he promised, "if Barry Windham is scheduled to wrestle, you'd better believe he'll be there."
Referee Dick Woehrle will return to his officiating duties Sunday night after being suspended for Saturday's event following an in-ring altercation with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan. The manager of the Heenan Family wasn't thrilled (to put it mildly) with Woehrle's "slap on the wrist", and is going to be even less enthused when he finds out the earnest referee has been assigned to the Ric Flair-Randy Savage semifinal match. A bout that will already have tensions running high, could run even higher now that Woehrle and Heenan have been thrown into the equation.

House Show #3 – 01/17/1982 Capital Centre – Landover, MD Welcome back to the Cap Centre for night 3 of what will be a historic evening of Capital Wrestling Federation action. Tonight, fans will witness the conclusions* of the CWF Heavyweight and Tag Team Title tournaments that will crown the CWF's first-ever Champions. Without wasting any time, let's head to the ring to “The World’s Most Dangerous Announcer” Gary Michael Cappetta.
Cappetta welcomed the fans to the sold out Capital Centre, here in Landover for the culmination of the CWF’s Championship tournaments! He noted the Tag Team Title semifinal matches will have a 45 minute time limit, while the World Title semifinal matches will have a one-hour time limit. The finals will have no time limit... Diamond Dallas Page and a chain-less Razor Ramon, both looking rough after being busted up last night were introduced first to a chorus of boos. The Road Warriors led by their manager Paul Ellering came out to 'Iron Man' next to a big pop...
1. The Road Warriors (w/Paul Ellering) b Diamond Dallas Page & Razor Ramon to advance to the CWF Tag Team Title tournament final Ramon went to remove his chain in the corner before remembering "that goof" Jimmy Valiant is now running around with it. Ellering's fearsome team took advantage of Ramon's momentary delay and delivered a running double clothesline that put him down and in early trouble. The "Bad Guy" managed to tag out to Page but he was immediately met by a Hawk boot to the midsection followed by a powerful vertical suplex for a near fall. The Warriors set up Page for the DECAPTIATION DEVICE, but Razor saved the day by pushing Hawk off of the top rope. Page then raked Animal's eyes and nailed Hawk with a Russian leg sweep that only got a one-count. The action then spilled to the outside where Hawk body slammed Page on the floor. On the other side of the ring, Ramon reversed an Irish whip and sent the 290 lb Animal into the ring steps with a crashing thud. Referee Dick Woehrle admonished both teams but resisted calling for the bell as Hawk and Ramon rolled their respective opponent's back into the ring. Page got to his feet first, but took time to showboat and jaw with Ellering before signaling for the DIAMOND CUTTER. But when Page finally turned around, Animal was waiting for him and flattened the leader of the Diamond Xchange with a thunderous POWER SLAM! As Hawk overtook Ramon outside of the ring, Animal scored the win for his team at 16:01...
...After the match, Hawk & Animal perched themselves on opposite turnbuckles and motioned to their waists, confident they would soon be wearing the CWF Tag Team Title belts. Ellering applauded his team mid-ring, as Ramon helped a flustered Page back to the locker room.
2. Roddy Piper dq Bob Backlund to advance to the CWF Heavyweight Title tournament final Before referee Bill Alfonso could ring the bell, someone wearing a mask and dark clothing appeared out of nowhere and smashed Backlund headfirst into a ring post, busting the fan favorite wide open! The mystery man (or woman?) was gone as quickly as he (or she?) arrived as Alfonso checked on Backlund. Medical personnel rushed out to tend to a crumpled Backlund outside of the ring, while Piper leaned over the ropes watching "concerned" from inside. After discussion between the trainers and Alfonso, it appeared that Backlund would be unable to continue. Boos started to rain down on Piper, who with a smirk on his face raised his hands in apparent victory. But as Backlund was being assisted up the aisle, he flipped out and broke away from those helping him. Alfonso, unsure of what to do now, looked around before dramatically calling for the bell to start the match...
...Piper's smirk quickly turned to an "oh sh!t", as Backlund charged, but an eye poke stopped him dead in his tracks as he entered the ring. The rowdy Scot immediately applied his SLEEPER in the middle of the ring, but Backlund managed to maneuver to the ropes before tumbling to the floor where he was nearly counted out. Piper hastily exited the ring and ran toward Backlund who back body dropped him onto the concrete floor! The crowed cheered as Backlund made a valiant comeback, before rolling Piper back into the ring. An intense, bloodied Backlund waited for Piper to get up, ready to finish him off with the ATOMIC DROP. But as Piper staggered to his feet, Backlund seemed to lose his balance and dropped to a knee, clutching his noggin. Piper used the opportunity to blast Backlund with a vicious knee lift, but somehow couldn't keep the Princeton, MN native down. A frustrated Piper, threw Backlund back out of the ring and followed up by grabbing a chair. Despite warnings from Alfonso, Piper reared back the chair when all of a sudden Kurt Angle showed up and grabbed the weapon out of Piper's hands. Next thing you know, WHAMMO! Angle rammed the chair into Piper's midsection before smashing it across his back. Alfonso motioned for the bell... and awarded the unpopular decision to Piper at 12:52...
...Angle chased Piper into the ring and delivered another chair shot that sent the Hot Rod into retreat mode up the aisle. A beaten, battered, befuddled and bloody Backlund, slowly re-entered the ring, as Angle kicked the bottom rope. Noticeably upset with himself for costing Backlund the match. Angle tried explaining his actions as Backlund wiped blood from his head before looking at his hands with a deranged look in his eyes. Angle was still apologizing when Backlund left the ring and stormed to the locker room.
3. The Midnight Express (w/Jim Cornette) b The British Bulldogs to advance to the CWF Tag Team Title tournament final In the early goings, a Dynamite dropkick sent Eaton to the floor where he found himself on the receiving end of an ensuing slingshot plancha, wowing the fans. Eaton turned the tables while still on the floor with a stinging right hand, and then despite referee James Beards warnings, rammed Dynamite into the guardrail. Cornette snuck over to Dynamite, readying his tennis racket but got caught n the act, resulting in the obnoxious manager begging for mercy. With Dynamite's back turned, Eaton tried a sneak attack but instead received a high hip toss down onto the arena floor! The action finally returned to the ring where both teams executed double team maneuvers on the other for exciting near falls. Following a brawl outside of the ring won by the Bulldogs, Dynamite climbed to the top rope and flew off with a DIVING HEAD BUTT onto Condrey, but himself stunned, was unable to make the cover. With both Condrey and Dynamite down, it was Loverboy Dennis who was able to tag his partner first. After wearing down both Bulldogs. the Express executed the MIDNIGHT MASSACRE on Davey Boy, but somehow couldn't keep him down! Cornette was beside himself at ringside screaming at Beard to "count faster"! The Bulldogs rallied late and went for the kill. Dynamite sent Condrey into the ropes but the move was reversed. As Dynamite bounced off the ropes, and with Beard distracted by Cornette, Eaton smacked him with the racket. Dynamite stumbled forward right into a Condrey gut wrench suplex that gained the pinfall at 25:01.
4. Randy Savage b Ric Flair (w/Bobby Heenan) to advance to the CWF Heavyweight Title tournament final The Nature Boy wasn't eager to step into the ring with Savage after making derogatory statements about the Poffo family, stalling several times by skidaddling to the floor (and woooooooing it up)! Dick Woehrle and a contentious Heenan got into a heated verbal exchange when the referee told the Brain to get his man back in the ring before starting a faster than usual ten-count. Once the two rivals finally locked up, it was Flair scoring a quick near fall after taking Savage off of his feet with a series of thunderous chops. Flair went to work on Savage's leg before setting up for the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK but Savage broke the hold by kicking Flair off into the turnbuckle shoulder first and out of the ring. Savage followed but Flair kicked him right in his kneecap. Back inside, Flair continued punishing the leg by delivering a kneebreaker that caused Savage to writhe in pain. Flair then Irish whipped a hobbled Savage into the ropes but missed a wild chop before the Macho Man bounced off the opposite side of the ring, connecting with a neckbreaker clothesline. Flair rolled out of the ring, but Savage mounted the top turnbuckle and delivered a double axe handle that sent Flair crashing into the guardrail. Savage threw Flair back into the ring and signaled for his finisher as a panicked Heenan hopped onto the ring apron. Woehrle and Heenan argued face to face with the referee ordering the manager back to the floor. Flair used this brief distraction to get a shot in on Savage from behind. But as Flair tried a scoop slam, Savage slipped over the top and delivered a running knee to the back. Woehrle moved out of the way, but Heenan wasn't quick enough and Flair collided with his manager sending him off of the apron. As the fans cheered, Savage immediately climbed up and dove off with his patented FLYING ELBOW DROP! With Heenan just coming to his senses outside of the ring, Savage was able to score the pin as Woehrle counted three at 16:31...
...Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard hit the ring immediately after the bell and beat down Savage. Flair recovered and joined in on the attack until the Poffos, Angelo & Lanny ran down and cleared the ring of the Heenan Family. Savage celebrated with his father and brother before gingerly climbing the turnbuckle as the fans cheered.
Intermission - Gary Michael Cappetta reminded fans to tune in to Friday Night Frenzy, premiering a week from Friday to see all of your favorite stars of the CWF. He then announced the CWF would be returning to the Capital Centre on April 25th for the Beltway Bash!
Gordon Solie interviewed Gorgeous George, who was accompanied by his valet Cherie Dupri. George called himself a trailblazer, an attraction, and the greatest showman in professional wrestling. Solie told George he was indeed instrumental in the sport becoming televised, saying whether the fans love him or hate him, they sure do tune in to see him. George said there would be no Friday Night Frenzy if not for him and it's only fitting that he be on the first show. As he and Cherie were leaving, George turned his nose up to a passing by Flyin' Brian who was headed to the ring for the next match...
5. Flyin' Brian b Disco Inferno The fans absolutely LOVE Brian's energy. After signing autographs at ringside, he took his vest off only for Disco to attack him from behind. Disco remained in control, dancing between each move, until Pillman turned the tables by ducking a clothesline and slamming him to the mat. A thumb to Brian's eye got Disco back on the offensive where he delivered a jumping facebreaker. After dancing some more and irritating the fans, Disco spiked Brian with a piledriver, but a lackadaisical cover only netted him a two-count. Disco stomped away at Brian and then applied the LAST DANCE, but Brian wouldn't give up, instead kicking his opponent in the butt sending him through the ropes. Pillman then mounted the top rope and dove off with a plancha to the floor that had the crowd on their feet and camera's flashing! Back in the ring, Pillman fired up the crowd, before he started climbing the turnbuckle again. This momentary lapse of concentration, gave Disco an opportunity to recover and meet Pillman up top. The two traded punches before Disco took a right to his nose and fell backwards crashing to the mat. Disco, with an apparent bloody nose staggered to his feet and was met by a Brian flying body press for two! As Disco got to his feet making sure his nose was still attached, Pilman planted him with a DDT before following up with AIR PILLMAN for the win at 8:50.
6. The Midnight Express b The Road Warriors to win the tournament for the CWF Tag Team Titles Cornette's team went to work early on Animal before Condrey planted him with a FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP that surprisingly only got a 1 count. The action spilled to the floor where the brute Animal rammed Eaton into the ring steps. The Warriors then set Eaton up for the DOOMSDAY DEVICE and destroyed Beautiful Bobby with it but Cornette had Alfonso distracted. Animal then whipped Eaton into the turnbuckle and charged in but flattened referee Bill Alfonso instead! With the referee down, the Express took advantage and laid a beatdown on both Hawk & Animal. As Alfonso got assisted to the back, new referee Dick Woehrle made his way out to take his place officiating. Meanwhile, the Express connected with the ROCKET LAUNCHER as Condrey tossed his partner off of the top rope. Woehlre however, having just entered the ring was a bit late on the count, and with Ellering banging the mat for encouragement, Animal was able to kick out at 2 1/2. Eaton and Condrey stomped away at Animal who finally made the tag to Hawk who came into the ring a house of fire. First, he drilled Eaton with a pair of right hands before sending Condrey soaring with a press slam. The Express regained the advantage when Loverboy Dennis took the action to the floor where he whipped Hawk into the guardrail. A Double Goozle followed by an Eaton Alabama Jam could only hold Hawk down for 2 as Cornette pleaded with Woehrle to count faster. Condrey and Eaton then sent Hawk into the ropes for a double clothesline but he ducked under and came back with a double clothesline of his own! Animal then lifted Eaton for the DOOMSDAY DEVICE, but with Hawk on the top rope ready to dive off, he had his leg grabbed by a desperate Cornette. Ellering saw this and met Cornette in the corner with a haymaker that knocked him off the apron and sent his glasses flying. The distraction and delay allowed Condrey to attack Animal from behind, freeing Eaton. The Express then both slammed Hawk off of the top rope with a ROCKET LAUNCHER onto his own partner! Eaton prevented Hawk from making the save as Condrey covered Animal at 17:26 to give the Express the win and become the first ever CWF Tag Team Champions!
7. Dan Severn b "Thriller" Mike Jackson Cornette left ringside (broken glasses and all) to celebrate with his team after being knocked for a loop in the last match. Before he did however, he riled up Severn on the way to the ring by reminding him he was unjustly removed from the CWF Heavyweight Title Tournament. Severn with a chip on his shoulder was ruthless as he attacked immediately before trapping Jackson in the CROSS ARMBREAKER for the easy win in 1:29…
…Despite referee Morgan Dollar calling for the bell, Severn kept the armbreaker applied for a few extra seconds before releasing it when Ken Shamrock entered the ring. Severn quickly rolled to the outside and the two had an intense stare down. Shamrock invited Severn back into the ring but the Beast thought better of it and headed up the aisle to boos from the fans.
Cappetta set up and hyped the final match in the CWF Heavyweight Title tournament. Rowdy Roddy Piper was introduced first and headed to the ring with a cocky grin on his face, having defeated Ron Simmons and Bob Backlund thus far. Macho Man Randy Savage who has gotten passed Diamond Dallas Page and Ric Flair, was out next to a massive ovation. Referee Joey Marella was handed the brand new CWF Heavyweight Title belt and he showed it to both competitors before raising it high in the air for the fans to get a better look...
8. Roddy Piper b Randy Savage in the tournament finals for the CWF Heavyweight Title Back and forth action early on before Piper snuck in a foreign object behind referee Joey Marella's back that put Savage down. Piper took the fight to the floor but Savage countered and delivered an atomic drop that sent Piper headfirst into the ring post. Savage, mounted the top rope and flew onto Piper with a double axe handle that sent Piper into the guardrail. Savage appeared to reinjure his leg or ankle when he landed, but after shaking it off, rolled Piper back into the ring. Savage then climbed to the top turnbuckle again and flew off with the FLYING ELBOW that connected! Savage crawled over slowly to make the cover, but Piper managed to slip his foot onto the bottom rope just as Marella's hand was coming down for the 3-count. Savage went back up top but Piper met him with an eye poke and then delivered a superplex, followed by a bulldog for 2. Piper, frustrated, tossed Savage over the top rope and onto the floor. Marella warned Piper but showed leniency wanting a decisive finish. Piper pushed the timekeeper out of his chair and went to smash Savage with it. But as he reared back, Savage kicked him in the midsection causing Piper to drop the chair. Marella kicked the chair to the side and tried persuading both wrestlers to return to the ring. However, with Savage and Piper still brawling at ringside and up the aisle, and after possibly the slowest 10-count in pro wrestling history, Marella had no choice but to call for the bell in 25:23...
...Following some commotion, things somewhat settled down and several CWF suits congregated at ringside, conferring amongst themselves and Marella. Savage and Piper anxiously tried getting close enough to hear what was being said but were kept away by officials as well as some undercard wrestlers who had come out to help restore order. After a few minutes of discussion, the fans cheered when Cappetta made the announcement that the match would continue until there is a winner!...
...The match was restarted and Savage, still favoring his leg was all over Piper, mounting him on the floor and firing away with a barrage of punches. Marella courageously stepped in, urging Savage to return to the ring. But Savage, full of adrenalin turned and put his finger in Marella's face causing the referee to back away with his hands in the air as if to say "my bad, do you, Mach". Piper used this opportunity to attack Savage from behind, regaining control of the match. Finally back in the ring, Piper applied a figure-four leglock only to have Savage surprise him with a small package for a very near fall. Piper was up first and as Savage hobbled to his feet, the Rowdy one delivered a swinging neckbreaker that planted the back of Savage's head against the mat. Piper then slapped on a SLEEPER in the center of the ring, but Savage tried his best to squirm out of the hold. As he continued to fight it, his leg buckled beneath him and down to the mat he went. Piper maintained the hold, but with better leverage this time was able to finally put Savage away at 28:35 to become the first ever CWF Heavyweight Champion!...
...After the bell, with both wrestlers lying flat on the mat exhausted, Marella laid the title on Piper's chest before raising his hand. The fans boo'd the new champion as he slowly got to his feet, before giving his new belt a big ol' kiss. Piper, beaming from ear to ear, lifted the title up with one hand, while flipping off Savage with the other. An intense Macho Man who was being assisted on the floor was restrained from re-entering the ring as the show came to a close.
Crazy end to a memorable three nights of CWF action. Jim Cornette's Midnight Express escaped the Road Warriors to become the promotion's first Tag Team Champions, while the controversial Rowdy Roddy Piper, after a wild match with Randy Savage leaves Landover as the first Heavyweight Champion. It's time to pack up the ring truck and travel north to Allentown, PA for Friday Night Frenzy. Expect fallout from the weekend's events, Gorgeous George will be there and a whole lot more!

Rudo! Rudo! Rudo! Two championships, two villains (or teams of villains) holding them. You know I love that! Slymm, this was an incredible capstone on three great days of wrestling. Just an epic, epic read. I especially like the layers of intrigue you added. Who's the masked man who attacked Backlund (I think I know, but I'm sure I'm wrong)? What's Savage going to do since he was sort of screwed over a little bit by the Championship Committee? How long before Razor gets his gold back? You've really woven together multiple storylines to create a cohesive fed that is great fun to read. Nice job! Just one comment: you misspelled Arn Anderson as "Steve Williams" and Tully Blanchard as "Danny Hodge."

You owe me 15 minutes of my life back 😅 Thanks for the kind words homie. I'm glad you enjoyed my novel and props also for staying awake long enough to finish it (unless you took naps during?) As I've told you, I really don't know know wtf I'm doing with this thing. Just kind of figuring out stuff as I go. Hopefully we'll get some answers to your questions (I don't even know the answers so we'll hope together).🙏 Thanks for reading, I appreciate it.
