What a huge win for Dick Hutton beating Jack Brisco for the NWA World title. I figured Brisco was in to defend the belt and get out as champ but Hutton had something to say about that. Great way to use the NWA World title, by the way.

Card 47 London Gardens, London, ON- April 23, 2023
“Superstar” Bill Dundee v. Greg Valentine Referee: James Beard Valentine was able to weather an early attack by Dundee and took control after a brawl on the floor. Valentine could not get the submission with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Dundee was able to turn the tables at ringside running Valentine into the ringside table. Dundee was not able to maintain the advantage however and the size advantage of Valentine was too much and a second FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK after eight minutes ended it. Winner: Valentine * ½
Jack Brisco v. Prince Kharis w/James Mitchell Referee: Dick Woehrle Jack Brisco’s ugly week continued in London when he encountered a game Mummy who caused him all kinds of trouble. Brisco has to deal with the distraction and later the interference of Mitchell but Mitchell ended up getting smashed off the apron in a crowd pleasing moment. Brisco was busted open when he went hard into the post and the fans were concerned they would see yet another upset but the bloody Brisco battled and scored the win with a ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE after 11 minutes. Winner: Brisco *** ½
Moondogs (Moondog Spot & Moondog Rex) v. Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) w/Captain Lou Albano Referee: Morgan Dollar The Moondogs manage to cut off “Handsome” Jimmy from his corner and work over their opponent making quick tags. The action goes to the floor and Valiant cracks Spot with a chair. Dollar is not impressed and calls for the disqualification after three minutes. Winners: Moondogs by disqualification DUD
Austin Idol v. Brian Christopher Referee: Dick Woehrle Idol managed to catch Christopher in a LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK in the opening minute but Christopher managed to make the ropes. The fans were solidly behind Christopher and he mounted a comeback battling Idol in and out of the ring. Idol kicked out after a HIP HOP DROP and later used a chop block on Christopher at ringside leading to a near count out. Christopher survived another LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK and popped the crowd with a sitout power bomb but Idol came back himself and used his finisher for a third time to claim the submission victory after 12 minutes. Winner: Idol *** ½
Ted DiBiase & Virgil v. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) Referee: James Beard This was essentially a handicap match as DiBiase had no real interest in having Virgil in the ring. DiBiase looked very impressive but the double teaming of the Fantastics gave them the upper hand and simple running knee lift from Fulton was enough to down DiBiase for the three count after eight minutes. Winners: Fantastics. *
Brickhouse Brown v. Disco Inferno Referee: James Beard This was a competitive back and forth battle which plenty of brawling on the floor which had the fans rocking. Beard let them go and Brown was able to get the best of most of the brawling. Brown connected with a FLYING BODY PRESS to get the three count after 7 minutes. Winner: Brown * ½
Brian Blair v. Baron Von Raschke Referee: Joey Marella Von Raschke overpowered Blair and managed to keep the pace of the match slow which worked to his advantage. Blair was able to get the occasional flurry in but Von Raschke managed to regain control with his brawling. The action spilled to the floor and Von Raschke ignored the referee and clubbed Blair with a chair and was disqualified after 7 minutes. Winner: Blair by disqualification DUD
Canadian Heavyweight Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage v. Dan Severn Referee: Joey Marella; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside The fans were electric before the bell and Savage went on an immediate attack landing his FLYING ELBOW SMASH early on. Severn kicked out at the last possible second which brought the fans to a whole new level. Savage was vicious in his assault including using a chair to bloody his challenger on the floor. The fans did not know really what to think of the champion’s aggression. Despite losing blood, Severn was able to lock in a CHOKE SLEEPER but Savage made the ropes to keep the match going. Severn punished Savage with German suplexes and throws but Savage kept battling back and it was running knee to the back that knocked Severn into the buckles and allowed Savage to roll him up for the win using some tights to ensure the three count after 18 minutes. Winner: Savage ***

Stoked that Macho Man is holding onto that Canadian Heavyweight title... And I'm really looking forward to the upcoming match between Jack Brisco and The Beast... Should be a memorable one. Great stuff!

Card 48 Kingston Centre, Kingston, ON- April 24, 2023
Brian Christopher & “Superstar” Bill Dundee v. Greg Valentine & Austin Idol Referee: Mrogan Dollar; An absolute barn burner to kick things off in Kingston as these two teams battled back and forth in and out of the ring. Things took a violent turn about halfway through the contest when Idol posted Dundee busting him open. Later, Christopher also went into the post and was busted open. Idol and Valentine were able to control for a long stretch but could not put their opponents away after Dundee saved Christopher from a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Much to the delight of the fans, Dundee and Christopher came back and had their moments to shine including back to back to back bulldogs to Idol at one point and a SUPERSTAR BOMB to Valentine. Only a save from Idol kept the action going. Idol was able to claim the three count when he caught Dundee with an inside cradle rebounding off the ropes using the tights to get the three count after 34 minutes. Dundee and Christopher are not impressed and carry on the fight after the bell sending their opponents fleeing back to the dressing room. Winners: Idol & Valentine *****
Brian Blair v. Disco Inferno Referee: Morgan Dollar Inferno is all over Dollar before the bell shaking up the referee. Blair came out on fire and dominated the early action picking a pair of near falls with deathjump cross body blocks. Inferno was able to hang in long enough to get some offensive moves in but Blair was never in serious trouble before coming back and putting away Inferno after 6 minutes with a AIRPLANE SPIN/COBRA CLUTCH. Winner: Blair * ½
Ted DiBiase w/Virgil v. Larry Hennig Referee: Morgan Dollar DiBiase is easily one of the most hated competitors in the territory and his contest robbing younger fans of making a cool hundred dollars does not help. Dollar is not impressed and neither is Hennig who despite not being full recovered from his injuries at the hands of DiBiase takes control of the match and nearly ends it with THE AXE. DiBiase finds a way to keep the match going and uses a power slam to set up his COBRA CLUTCH to leave Hennig dazed in the middle of the ring for the win after 8 minutes. It looks like Hennig is going to get a mouth full of cash but Brickhouse Brown arrives with a chair and clears the ring. Winner: DiBiase *
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) Referee: Dick Woehrle; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Animal rocked ringside with a press slam to Fulton in the opening minute. The Warriors continued to over power Fulton but he was able to catch Hawk on the top of the corner with a superplex. Hawk wen to the floor and Fulton, perhaps losing his mind, followed. Hawk grabbed Fulton and battering rammed him into the ringpost! Woehrle made he disqualification after five minutes. Winners: Fantastics by disqualification. * ½
Texas Death Match – Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) w/Captain Lou Albano v. Moondogs (Moondog Spot & Moondog Rex) Referee: Dick Woehrle This was about as wild and bloody as you would expect. The Valiant Brothers gained the early upper hand and their attack left both Moondogs a bloody mess after assaults with a chair and turnbuckle wrench. It looked over but Spot broke up a pin attempt after a SUPER ELBOW with a bone smash. The Moondogs assumed control and soon there was nothing “handsome” or “luscious” about the Valiant Brothers who were a bloody mess. A pair of pin saves kept the action going. Things spilled outside gain and Johnny Valant reversed a whip into the rails. Back it the ring, a double clothesline ended it after 24 minutes. Winners: Valiant Brothers *****
Jack Brisco v. Dan Severn Referee: Morgan Dollar Something was off with Severn who got into it with Gary Michael Cappetta during the ring introductions but when things appear ready to become physical, Brisco hit the ring and went on the offense. Severn never had a single offensive move as Brisco dominated from bell to bell getting the three count after a gut wrench backbreaker after about 5 minutes. Winner: Brisco * ½
AWA Women’s Champion Sherri Martel v. Penny Banner Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Martel turned up the aggression after a few moves and took over the match with kicks and forearms. Banner came back with a series of atomic drops and airplane swing. Martel survived both a SUNSET FLIP and a SMALL CRADLE. A revers surfboard almost submitted Martel before the champion bailed to the floor. Banner came out and scoop slammed Martel on the floor. Martel did not regain the ring before the ten count after about ten minutes. Winner by count-out Banner. **
NWA Champion Dick Hutton v. Baron Von Raschke Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Von Raschke found himself outmatched by the skills of the champion who able to quick counter back from any brawling that the challenger started. A scoop slam lead to a two count and Hutton continued to counter to perfection and retained after five minutes with an ABDOMINAL STRETCH. Winner: Hutton *

Card 49 Niagara Falls Memorial Arena, Niagara Falls, ON- April 25, 2023
Ted DiBiase & Virgil v. Brickhouse Brown & Larry Hennig Referee: Morgan Dollar DiBiase had the fans upset when he denied a young fan a chance at making some cash when Virgil kicked away the basketball. Hennig and Brown looked impressive throughout this match and the fans were happy when DiBiase was stuck in the ring for a long stretch. DiBiase was able to catch Brown on the top of the corner and slammed him to the mat. That turned the momentum of the contest and it was Virgil who scored the pin with a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP on Brown to complete the comeback after 16 minutes. Winners: DiBiase & Virgil **
Dan Severn v. Prince Kharis /James Mitchell Referee: Morgan Dollar Kharis was able to use his size early on after Dollar provided strict instructions to both men to gain the upper hand with smashes and clotheslines. Severn regrouped and took over the match stunning the fans with throws and suplexes on his larger foe. Severn was not able to lock in any submissions but a belly to belly throw gained him a near fall. A few moves later, a fireman’s carry slam put Kharis to the mat for the three count when Mitchell was not able to cause a distraction after 9 minutes. Winner: Severn. * ½
Moondogs (Moondog Spot & Moondog Rex) v. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) Referee: James Beard The fans were solidly behind the Fantastics and they were not happy with the outcome of this one. After a few minutes of back and forth, Fulton found himself cut off from his corner after a double team in the corner. Rogers was eventually able to get a hot tag but could not get anything going and the Moondogs took this one after a MOONDOG SPLASH. The pin save was blocked after 7 minutes. Winners: Moondogs * ½
Canadian Heavyweight Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage v. Brian Blair Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Savage attacks his challenger before the bell earning heat but Blair battled back early on with a running clothesline. Savage comes off the ropes and catches Blair with an inside cradle using the tights but cannot get the pin. Savage steps up his viciousness including a flying axehandle to the floor. The finish came after Savage piledrives Blair at ringside and Blair is counted out after 7 minutes. The fan boos Savage out of the ring. Winner: Savage by count-out. Rockin Robin v. Princess Victoria Referee: Joey Marella Some excellent countering back and forth after the opening handshake. Robin begins to press the attack and lands a middle rope sunset flip and back elbow. A flying lariat is on target and gets the win after 5 minutes. Winner: Robin *
Brian Christopher & “Superstar” Bill Dundee v. Austin Idol & Greg Valentine Referee: Morgan Dollar A head slam & elbow drop got Valentine in trouble early on and the team of Dundee & Christopher never allowed him to tag out. Dundee and Christopher picked up several near falls as Valentine just got the shoulder of the mat each time until Christopher crushed him with a HIP HOP DROP for the one sided victory after 9 minutes. Winners: Christopher & Dundee * ½
Paul Ellering & Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) v. Captain Lou Albano & Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) Referee: Joey Marella This was a wild one. The Warriors controlled the action but the Handsome Jimmy & Luscious Johnny made defensive tag after defensive tag to keep a fresh man in the ring. Albano saw limited action. The Warriors gave Jimmy Valiant back to back DOOMSDAY DEVICES but pin saves both times kept the action going. A confident Ellering tagged in but Jimmy Valiant was able to get the tag. A DOUBLE HOT SHOT gave the Valiants a near fall and a SUPER ELBOW gave the comeback win while the pin save was blocked after 14 minutes. Winners: Valiant Brothers & Albano ***
NWA Champion Dick Hutton v. Jack Brisco Referee: Joey Marella; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Handshake started this one off. Hutton attempted to get the upper hand with his power but Brisco was well prepared and took over the match with arm drags and knee breakers. A suplex assortment really punished the champion. Brisco went after the leg but could not get the submission with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. A ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE nearly ended it. Hutton battled back but all of his efforts were short lived as Brisco had an answer to everything. Brisco used a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to recapture the title after 12 minutes. Winner and New NWA World Champion: Brisco ** ½

Card 50 Barrie Arena, Barrie, ON- April 26, 2023
Card 50 ends up being a spot show! Not a big deal as the fans in Barrie are going to be treated to an solid night of action including new NWA Champion Jack Brisco in tag team action with the man he beat for the title Dick Hutton against Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors in non-title action plus the AWA Women’s Title will be defended as Champion Sherri Martel steps into the ring with Penny Banner in a rematch from Kingston.
Dan Severn v. Disco Inferno Referee: Morgan Dollar; Inferno was very pleased with himself as he managed to frustrate Severn a large portion of this match and even scored a near fall after a cross body off the buckles. Severn finally had had enough and attacked with suplexes and slams that rocked Inferno who just managed to make the ropes to escape a CHOKE SLEEPER. Inferno made a comeback late but Severn caught him on the top of the corner when Inferno took too long showboating and slammed Inferno to the mat. A CHOKE SLEEPER followed and that was it after 12 competitive minutes. Winner: Severn **
“Superstar” Bill Dundee v. Baron Von Raschke Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dundee gave up a tone of size and strength and it showed early on as Von Raschke battered Dundee in and out of the ring. Dundee managed to stay out of the BRAIN CLAW and kick out of several covers before the fans lifted him to a comeback that had Von Rasachke on the defensive. Dundee had several near falls of his own including a big two and three quarters count after a SUPERSTAR BOMB. Von Raschkle battled back late and looked to be on the verge of victory but made the mistake of going to the top. Dundee slammed him to the mat and then hit his SUPERSTAR BOMB finisher after 20 minutes to get the comeback victory. Winner: Dundee ****
Brickhouse Brown w/Larry Hennig v. Virgil w/Ted DiBiase Referee: Morgan Dollar; Brown claimed the early battle of the dropkicks and dominated most of the match much to the chagrin of DiBiase at ringside. A battle of the floor saw Brown run Virgil into the ring steps and DiBiase wanted a disqualification but the action carried on. Brown had the match won with a FLYING BODY PRESS but DiBiase attacked Brown and this time Dollar made the disqualification call after 7 minutes. Winner: Brown by disqualification. * ½
AWA Women’s Champion Sherri Martel v. Penny Banner Referee: Joey Marella; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside, This was another intense battle between these two competitors. Martel was the aggressor for most of the contest but Banner was able to hold her own and had her offensive runs as well. Banner was able to get the best of an exchange on the floor and nearly claimed the gold with a SMALL CRADLE. It was back and forth from that point until Martel cracked Banner with a chair during battle at ringside. The fans were not impressed but the momentum had turned and Martel retained the title after 11 minutes with a TOP ROPE SPLASH. Winner: Martel ***
Moondogs (Moondog Spot & Moondog Rex) v. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers Referee: Morgan Dollar; It looks like Gary Michael Cappetta may end up smashed with a bone before he is finished the introductions but the Fantastics hit the ring and we are under way. Rogers found himself cut off by the Moondogs who made quick tags and battered Rogers. A double clothesline scored a two count and soon the Moondogs crushed Rogers with a MOONDOG DROP. Fulton was blocked from making the save and the Moondogs scored the pin after 7 minutes. Winner: Moondogs. * ½
Brian Christopher v. Greg Valentine Referee: Morgan Dollar; Another back and forth battle between these two competitors. Christopher showed he was not afraid to mix it up and gave as much as he took early on. Christopher hit a HIP HOP DROP for a big near fall. Valentine wore out Christopher with elbows, forearms and chops. A blow to the leg off the top really did some damage and Valentine was able to focus his attack on the leg and gained the submission after 12 minutes with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Winner: Valentine ** ½
Larry Hennig w/Brickhouse Brown v. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil Referee: Dick Woehrle; The fans were all over DiBiase from the moment he stepped into the arena and did not stop until after the final bell. Hennig showed his power early gaining near falls after a double forearm hammer and a chinlock and pummel. Hennig ate the ringside table midway though the match which allowed DiBiase a chance to get back into the match. It was back and forth and then DiBiase caught Hennig in a COBRA CLUTCH. Hennig powers out but DiBiase locked in his finisher a second time for the win after 11 minutes. Winner: DiBiase **
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. NWA World Champion Jack Brisco & Dick Hutton Referee: Dick Woehrle; Ringside was electric for this encounter. However, he took a beating as well until he was able to reverse a whip on the floor and send Animal crashing into the ring post. Back in the ring, Brisco tagged in and caught Animal, who was still dazed, with an airplane spin for the three count after 16 minutes. Ellering was livid about what appeared to be a quick count from the official but the decision stood. Winners: Brisco & Hutton ***

Card 51 Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON – May 11, 2023
Paul Ellering v. Captain Lou Albano Referee: James Beard; Ellering dominated this one from the opening bell and Albano eventually bailed to the floor. Ellering followed and Albano send Ellering hard into the ring post busting him open. The usually tolerant Beard called for the disqualification after just 4 minutes. Winner: Ellering by disqualification *
Virgil w/Ted DiBiase v. Brickhouse Brown w/Larry Hennig Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dollar caused some mayhem by ordering the seconds out of ringside before the bell. Brown look control at the bell but Virgil baited his opponent to the floor and Brown ended up getting whipped into the ring steps for his trouble. Brown and Virgil took it back to the floor moments later and Virgil dropped Brown with a chair across the back. Dollar called for the bell and the night opened with back to back disqualifications after just five minutes. Winner: Brown by disqualification *
Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) w/Captain Lou Albano v. Moondogs (Moondog Rex & Moondog Spot) referee: Dick Woehrle; Both sides were able to make several defensive tags to keep a fresh man in the ring early on. It was out of one of these tags that the finish came suddenly as the Moondogs managed to catch “Handsome” Jimmy in the corner with a kick after double clothesline. It was enough to stun Valiant for a MOONDOG SPLASH and the three count after eight minutes. Winners: Moondogs *
Stretcher Match – Ted DiBiase v. Larry Hennig Referee: Dick Woehrle; DiBiase looked impressive early with an inside cradle but clearly forgot that pin fals don’t count. They ended brawling on the floor where Hennig slammed DiBiase onto the floor and then dropped a elbow onto him off the apron. Hennig put DiBiase onto the stretcher and he was wheeled out after just five minutes. Winner: Hennig DUD
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside; The Champions and Ellering after all over Dollar before the bell and the official looks frightened. Fulton and Rogers gave the champions trouble early with their speed and double teaming but they could only run for so long. A press slam from Animal to Fulton started the Warriors comeback. Fulton was nearly counted out after being battering rammed into the ring post. Brian Blair v. Prince Kharis w/James Mitchell Referee: Dick Woehlre; This was another bizarre outing by Kharis who used his size to get the early advantage but soon was outsmarted and outworked by Blair’s skills. Blair had the match won after an impressive AIRPLANE SPIN/CORBA CLUTCH but Mitchell appeared to use some type of spell to keep his charge from being pinned. Blair quickly regained control and looked to be on the verge of winning when the power of Kharis allowed him to catch Blair in a bear hug and then put him away after 15 minutes with a MAGICAL MUMMY FOREARM. Winner: Kharis * ½
Disco Inferno v. Baron Von Raschke Referee: Morgan Dollar; 06 Von Raschke was in foul mood and took it out on Dollar before the bell and the official was shaken up once again. Things did not go well for Inferno who took a vicious beating. He did show some resilience when he survive a pair of BRAIN CLAWS. The frustrated German took to the top rope and Inferno managed to throw him off the top of the corner onto the mat. He could not get anything going however as Von Raschke blocked a LAST DANCE and then carried on with his attack. The end came when Inferno could not regain the ring after a beating on the floor and was counted out of the ring after 10 minutes. Winner: Von Raschke by disqualification. * ½
Austin Idol & Greg Valentine v. Brian Christopher & “Superstar” Bill Dundee Referee: Dick Woehrle; Another back and forth battle between these two teams. Dundee and Christopher were able to get the best of Idol for a stretch leading to a HIP HOP DROP for a near fall. Valentine leads his side back but could not get the submission with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK on Christopher. The finish came when Dundee caught Valentine with a jumping knee drop for the victory out of nowhere after 13 minutes. Winners” Christopher & Dundee **
Dick Hutton v. Dan Severn Referee: James Beard The two competitors battled back and forth with flawless counters with had the fans on the edge of the seat until Hutton caught Severn with a side salto for a near fall. Severn kicked out at two and Hutton executed a perfect Oklahoma side roll for a three count after 11 minutes. Winner: Hutton * ½
NWA Champion Jack Brisco v. Canadian Heavyweight Champion “Macho Man” Randy Savage Referee: Morgan Dollar; Dr. Mike Lano at ringside Ringside was electric for this one. Savage was all over Dollar before the bell and the official appeared frustrated. At the bell, Savage is all over Brisco attacking from everyone. Brisco is crushed by a FLYING ELBOW SMASH but kicks out. Savage just keeps coming and soon a second FLYING ELBOW SMASH looked to be the end but the champion raised his shoulder bring the fans out of their seats. Savage landed a flying axe handle to the outside. Savage made an error sending Brisco into the ropes and the momentum turned after a piledriver counter. Savage just made the ropes to escape a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. A ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE gets a near fall before Savage battles back. Savage picks up a pair of near falls and the a vaulting neck snap gives Savage a new title after twenty minutes. Winner and new NWA World Champion Savage. *****
