I saw this announcement today by AIW:
Absolute Intense Wrestling will be leaving Independent Wrestling TV effective immediately.
For the first time in several years AIW is looking to explore new opportunities and partnerships to stream our robust video library featuring over 250 titles of on demand content. Since 2005 AIW has become a staple of independent wrestling and one of the top promotions in the United States working with some of the biggest stars in the industry over the last 17 years. AIW’s video library features some of the most recognizable talents in the industry including Tyler Black (Seth Rollins), Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens), Johnny Gargano, Shayna Baszler, MJF, Jon Moxley Britt Baker, Terry Funk, Adam Cole, Swoggle, Ethan Page, The Young Bucks, Nikki Storm (Nikki ASH),Matt Cardona, Colt Cabana, AJ Styles, and many more.
AIW will also seek a new live streaming partner to broadcast our remaining 2022 and upcoming 2023 live event schedule. AIW prides itself on being a breeding ground for the stars of tomorrow and our upcoming lineups feature some of the industries most talked about prospects including Joshua Bishop, Derek Dillinger, Bulking Season, Joseline Navarro, Dominic Garrini, Isaiah Broner, Pretty Boy Smooth, Wes Barkley, Eric Taylor, Ziggy Haim, Members Only, and many more. For those who watch AIW via physical media or digital download all of our titles will remain for sale on Smartmarkvideo.com as will all future releases.

Despite the fact AIW will not be on IWTV anymore, my AIVW (Absolute Intense Vegas Wrestling) fed which uses a number of wrestlers from IWTV feds such as AIW, BLP, etc, will continue to be a VWTV fed in my VIU (Vegas Indy Universe.)

AIW is the main thing I watch on iwtv and I'll probably be dropping iwtv soon. I hope where ever they end up with be some worthwhile.

Hmm. I wonder what precipitated this. Seems like it was kind of done on the fly. I can see why a promotion as popular as AIW might want to strike out from IWTV. The streaming service pays pennies an hour to content providers. AIW probably thinks they can do better with a PPV model. I just wonder what their plans are for their library. I might purchase reasonably priced PPVs but I don't want to subscribe to yet another streaming service to watch the older stuff.

I see two scenarios for the timing.
1) They already have something lined up and just have to wait till they can announce it.
2) Something is going on with IWTV that made them decided to leave right away. Either something behind the scenes they did not want to be around when it comes out or they were being forced to sign something long term and decided to pass and go out on their own.

GCW has been teasing a streaming service in the works. I could 100% see AIW being involved if it's a GCW & friends type streaming service.

I was wondering about this too and if so if other feds who have worked closely with GCW in the past such as BLP could also join GCW's rumored upcoming streaming service.

Aw, man.
I’ve tried watching GCW, and it just didn’t resonate with me. I wouldn’t subscribe to their streaming service, so if that’s where AIW and BLP go, I will be sad panda.

Some feds jumped from IWTV to Highspots. Highspots didn't have a FireTV app last time I checked.
