CWA Wrestling: 10/10/2022

live from Memphis, TN

Lance Russell welcomes everyone to the show. He talks about the 4 team tournament for the Southern Tag Team Titles will take place tonight. Jackie Fargo will take on Tommy Gilbert, Lanny Poffo will face David Taylor and Yukon Eric and Big Bully Busick will be in action.

Randy Savage comes out. He tells Lance Russell that he's not surprised that Jim Cornette is ducking him. Deep down Cornette knows that the Macho Man will beat Vader when they finally meet for the World Title. But that's not what he's here today. Last week the Gilberts left him laid out last week and he has a real problem with that. He's putting the Gilberts on notice that they're number 1 on his hit list.

Big Bully Busick d. Keith Steinborn with the Stump Puller

Big Bully Busick is with Lance Russell. Russell mentions that Busick made it to the finals of the tournament last week but he wants to replay some of Austin Idol's words last week and get Busicks reaction. Busick says that he's had nothing but success so far in the Memphis area while Austin Idol has not. He's already beaten Idol once and if Idol wants to catch another beating then he's up for giving him what he wants.

Yukon Eric d. Kenny Jay with the Woodsman's Chop

Southern Heavyweight Champion Sputnik Monroe is with Lance Russell. Monroe tells everyone that they need to watch next week's show because he's going to be in action giving some poor chump a wrestling lesson. He's always said that he's the best of the best and he proved it last week by winning the Southern Championship. If anyone wants to prove him wrong then step up to the plate and he'll put the title on the line anytime and anywhere.

Doug and Eddie Gilbert d. Fabulous Ones with a DDT

Southern Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Finals:
Bobby Eaton and Koko Ware d. Bill Dundee and Dutch Mantell by DQ

Jackie Fargo is out with Lance Russell. He calls the Gilberts a bunch of punks. He can't wait to get out there with Tommy Gilbert because he's got a whole week of frustration that he's about to take out on him.

Lanny Poffo d. David Taylor by DQ

David Taylor puts the boots to Poffo and then hits the Butterfly Suplex before leaving the ring.

Jackie Fargo d. Tommy Gilbert with the Atomic Drop

Fargo punches Gilbert in the head numerous times. Randy Savage comes out and tosses Fargo a strap. Fargo proceeds to whip Gilbert with the strap until Doug Gilbert and Eddie Gilbert rush out and pull him out of the ring.

Lance Russell has some details on next week's card.

Doug, Eddie and Tommy Gilbert vs. Jackie Fargo, Jimmy Valiant and Randy Savage will be the main event.

Southern Heavyweight Champion Sputnik Monroe will be in action.

David Taylor and Lanny Poffo will square off in a rematch from this week.

Austin Idol will be in action.

Bill Dundee will take on Soul Train Jones.

Southern Tag Team Title Tournament Final:
Doug and Eddie Gilbert d. Bobby Eaton and Koko Ware with a neckbreaker clothesline to become the 1st Southern Tag Team Champions

The new Southern Tag Team Champions Doug and Eddie Gilbert are with Lance Russell. Eddie says that it must just burn Lance up to see these belts around their waists. Lance tries to argue but Eddie cuts him off. It's been a long time coming for the Gilbert Family in Memphis. He and Doug have the gold and no one can ever take that away from them. Not Jackie Fargo and not Randy Savage. If Jerry Jarrett and Eddie Marlin wants to put his family in a six man against Fargo, Savage and Valiant next week that's fine with him. Bring it on and they'll leave all three men as bloody messes in the ring.

Gordon Solie welcomes the fans to the show. He says that the Tennessee Tag Team Title Tournament is tonight. Tommy Rich takes on Adrian Street, Penny Banner takes on Malia Hosaka, Danny Hodge vs. Les Thatcher and Tennessee Heritage Champion Dirty White Boy will be in action.

Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose come out. Condrey mentions that all week they fielded calls from leeches like Jim Cornette and Jimmy Hart looking to sign them. He talks about how they were afterthoughts for years but they make a splash and suddenly everyone remembers their number. Tonight, they're going to take out the Rock N Roll Express and take home the titles.

Danny Hodge d. Les Thatcher with the Oklahoma Side Roll

James Mitchell is out. He promises a big reveal to all of these Knoxville hicks next week. It's going to be the first step in him ruining wrestling.

Bob Armstrong is out for an interview. He's out here because he sees that there isn't a challenger for the Tennessee Heritage Title. Well, he's putting his name in the hat. He wants a shot at the Dirty White Boy and the title.
