NAIL IN THE COFFIN
A Vampire Legend
Chapter Three: VAMPIRO vs. JERSEY TRIAD
13/ DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE def. Vampiro (w/ James Mitchell) via pinfall after a DIAMOND CUTTER. -- Tokens: DDP 1 - Vampiro 2
- This was a fast paced match that DDP would have won earlier, but a distraction by Mitchell prevented the referee from witnessing the pinfall. At that point, Chris Candido marched towards the ringside area to level the playing field. Vampiro was in control until he missed a high risk move, allowing DDP to regain the upper hand.
14/ VAMPIRO (w/ James Mitchell) def. Chris Candido (w/ Diamond Dallas Page) via count-out <out of the ring> after a guillotine leg drop across a guardrail. -- Tokens: Vampiro 2 - Candido 1
- Despite being somewhat brief, both men landed some impressive offense in this seesaw battle. A volatile exchange on the apron ended with Vampiro dropping Candido with a powerbomb onto the concrete floor. DDP tried to help his ally back into the ring, but Candido was too unsteady to beat the referee's count.
15/ CHRIS CANDIDO & KING KONG BUNDY (w/ Diamond Dallas Page) def. Abdullah the Butcher & Vampiro (w/ James Mitchell) when Bundy tapped out Vampiro <snake eyes> with a bear hug. -- Tokens: Bundy 4 - Abdullah 4
- Vampiro had just tagged into the match and decided to attack Bundy with a series of high impact strikes. Shrugging off the assault, Bundy trapped Vampiro in a punishing hold while Candido and DDP worked together to prevent Abdullah from making the save. Mitchell protests had no effect on the decision.
- Seeking revenge for his earlier loss, Candido blindsided Vampiro with a steel chair after the bell. Abdullah pulled Vampiro out of harm's way and Mitchell told his clients to make a strategic withdrawal.
16/ VAMPIRO (w/ James Mitchell) def. Chris Candido (w/ Diamond Dallas Page) in a First Blood match. Vampiro busted Candido wide open with a NAIL ON THE COFFIN on top of the metal ringside stairs. -- Tokens: Vampiro 3 - Candido 9
- This was a fairly uneven match as Candido just could not effectively counter Vampiro's bloodlust. Using Mitchell's walking stick, Vampiro repeatedly smashed Candido until he could barely stand. Realizing Candido was no longer able to fight back, DDP stood back and demanded that Vampiro show some mercy. Vampiro made a throat slashing gesture before ending the match in truly violent fashion.
- In a post-match interview, Vampiro stated that his well of mercy had run dry long before this encounter. With a burst of wicked laughter, Mitchell added that Candido would not be gracing the ring with his presence anytime soon. Without warning, DDP charged at Vampiro and a wild brawl erupted! Security was needed to maintain order.
17/ VAMPIRO (w/ James Mitchell) def. Diamond Dallas Page (w/ King Kong Bundy) in a Hardcore Deathmatch. Vampiro pinned DDP after an uranage through a stack of light tubes. -- Tokens: DDP 2
- The animosity between these two men continued to escalate and it remained obvious that their rivalry was far from over. Even interference by Bundy could not slow down Vampiro as he appeared to be completely in his element.
- In a post-match interview, Vampiro had some harsh words for Bundy. He made it clear that he did not fear the big, white whale and would gladly put a harpoon through its carcass. Bundy stomped towards Vampiro and told him to simply name the time and the place.
18/ VAMPIRO (w/ James Mitchell) def. King King Bundy (w/ Diamond Dallas Page) via DQ <outside interference> when DDP blatantly attacked Vampiro, leading to a wild brawl. -- Tokens: Vampiro 1 - Bundy 4
- Using hit and run tactics, Vampiro gradually picked up steam while Bundy struggled to keep up. DDP lost control of his emotions and his inability to remain a passive observer wound up costing Bundy the match.
