Ken Shamrock (17) v. Bob Orton (48)
A battle of different generations is featured next under the watchful eye of Dick Woehrle. Both men trade counters and block each others offense early on. Shamrock scores with a pair of back elbows and then counter attacks with a flying hip attack that stuns Orton. Shamrock works the leg with a rolling knee bar and sends Orton hard into the corner. Orton draws on his experience and dumps Shamrock outside with a backdrop. Shamrock shakes it off and regains the ring. Orton sends Shamrock off the ropes into a backdrop but Shamrock counters with a piledriver! Orton is disoriented and Shamrock goes for the kill with an ANKLE LOCK but Orton makes the ropes (R7/P5). Shamrock drops an elbow off the buckles and then puts Orton to the mat with a huracanrana for the three count (R2/P4).
Up next, the return of a two time, back to back, champion to the tournament!
Antonio Inoki (16) v. Red Bastien (49)

Shamrock drops an elbow off the buckles and then puts Orton to the mat with a huracanrana for the three count (R2/P4). FUN FACT: Ken Shamrock is actually the first wrestler that I ever saw perform a hurricanrana.. I was blown away at the time, to say the least. Gotta go with Inoki in the next match!

Thanks everyone for following along and posting your picks and comments.
Antonio Inoki (16) v. Red Bastien (49)
There is a Puroresu ceremony before the action gets underway and both competitors are presented flowers. Handshake after Dick Woehrle calls for the bell. Bastien catches Inoki with a flying body press early and then lands a double knee lift. Inoki attempts to counter back and lands a dropkick but Bastien puts him back to the mat with another flying body press. Inoki is sent into the ropes and drops Bastien with a tackle. Inoki maintains no momentum and Bastien is back in control with an arm drag and kick in the corner. A whip across the ring . . . both men crash together. Bastien regains his feet first. Bastien slows it down with a sleeper and then hits a kick in the corner. Bastien hits a flying head scissors and covers Inoki for a one count (R6/P1). Bastien applies another sleeper and Inoki is able to make the ropes (R5/P2). Bastien climbs the corner. Inoki slams him to the mat. Inoki with a bow and arrow and then he comes off the top. Inokiβs kick is blocked and Bastien takes it to the mat with a rope climb headlock takeover. Bastien with an abdominal stretch but Inoki is quick to counter out (R10/P3). Inoki avoids a head butt and downs Bastien with a well placed dropkick. OCTOPUS HOLD. Bastien makes the ropes (R7/P3). Inoki goes back to hold again and Bastien struggles to make the ropes (R7/P4). ENZUIGIRI! A quick 1, 2, 3 from Woehrle (R2/P5).
The second round of the tournament is already shaping up to be off the charts. First we get Vader v. Race and now Shamrock v. Inoki!
Vader's road to a repeat championship is not going to get any easier considering the next match up . . .
Andre The Giant (9) v. Roy Heffernan w/βWildβ Red Berry (56)
Does anyone really think Heffernan stands a chance!

I would be shocked to see Andre knocked out in the opening round... But, as we all know, those bookers can get a little overzealous with the DQ decisions just to keep everyone on their toes... Hope it doesn't happen here!
