Backlund gets the action to the mat and controls. Backlund sends Pitbull into the ropes but telegraphs a backdrop. Pitbull with a piledriver counter. Tombstone piledriver . . . countered. Backlund sends Pitbull into the ropes . . . ROLLING BACKBRIDGE. Morgan Dollar reaches two (R6/P3). Underhook suplex downs Pitbull. Pitbull counters a one-arm Gotch lift and then executes a gorilla press slam. 1 count (R11/P1). Backlund counters back and drops Pitbull with a tackle. Boston Crab slows it down and Pitbull takes a breather. Backlund is out and Dr. Mike Lano captures the action up close. Pitbull gets the upper hand ramming Backlund back first into the apron. Back to the floor. Whip to the post . . . Reversed and Pitbull eats the steel! Backlund’s tombstone is countered. Spinning heel kick connects. Flying tackle in the corner misses. Backlund with a back elbow. Backlund rotates between a hammerlock and a Boston Crab several times. Pitbull counters and sends Backlund into the corner . . . rebounded into clothesline. Tombstone piledriver from Pitbull. Spinning heel kick and clothesline down Backlund. Whip into the corner… reversed… Backlund charges in . . . countering clothesline! Flying tackle in the corner . . . misses. Pitbull sent into the ropes . . . ROLLING BACKBRIDGE . . . 1, 2, KICK OUT (R6/P4). Piledriver from Backlund. CROSSFACE CHICKEN WING. Pitbull inches towards the ropes… cannot make it (R8/P8).
The thumping ring sound of the early 80's MSG footage was stuck in my head while I was rolling out this one. There is just something magical about the sounds of MSG from back in the day.
