squash. Next one should hopefully be good but I think The Brain might give Studd an edge.

I think Heenan ringside is enough to sway my vote for Studd.

Antonio Rocca (20) v. Big John Studd w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan (45) Rocca gets too close after Dick Woehrle calls for the bell. Studd makes him pay with a clothesline and body slams. Studd drops for a cover and gets only 1 (R10/P2). BACKBREAKER . . . Rocca hooks the ropes with a foot (R7/P6). Big elbow drop. . . 1, 2, 3 (R4/P4).
Back to back squashes and Studd advances!

Tricky Nicky without a question.
Heenan is going to be well represented in this tournament.

Yikes! Did not see Rocca going out like that... The bookers really wanted Studd to make a statement going into the next round.
Bockwinkel advancing... Not even a question.

Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan (13) v. Joe Blanchard (52)
Morgan Dollar has strict instructions for both competitors and calls for the bell. Blanchard has the upper hand early but misses a dropkick which allows Bockwinkel to rebound his opponent into a huge backdrop. Bockwinkel decides not to take the fight outside and instead plants Blanchard with a back suplex. One count (R9/P3). Bockwinkel grabs a leg . . . FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Blanchard quickly rolls Bockwinkel to escape (R12/P5). Bockwinkel with a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Blanchard’s arm drops for the third time (R3/P7).
It appears Bobby The Brain will have some decision making before the next round . . .

I love Ilio, but Dr. Death can be a monster.

Bockwinkel vs. Big John... I'm thinking the Brain might just wait and see which way the wind is blowing at any given time.
No disrespect to Mr DiPaolo, but Dr Death should go over.

“Dr. Death” Steve Williams (12) v. Ilio DiPaolo (53)
Williams struggles with the initial offensive attack of his opponent which sees “Dr. Death” put to the mat several times. Big right hands drop Williams. Williams attempts to get something going blocking a monkey flip but DiPaolo counters to perfection. Cross-arm sleeper slows it down and a leg nelson ties up Williams and forces him to the floor. DiPaolo is fired up and follows. Williams shoved Dr. Mike Lano into DiPaolo. Press slam from Williams. DiPaolo with a whip to the corner with a kick. Cross-arm sleeper is countered but Williams’ elbow drop is on target. Smash to the skull from the top from Williams. Outside, Williams smashes DiPaolo with a chair… HEAT. Warning from the official. Press slam from Williams. Lariat connects. One count from Joey Marella (R10/P3). Williams is all over DiPaolo. Football tackle dumps DiPaolo to the floor. Williams runs DiPaolo back first into the post. BOOOO. Marella is counting. . . 7, 8, 9, DiPaolo rolls back in. Williams tosses him back to the floor. Williams is out . . . DiPaolo reverses a whip . . . Williams into the post! Blood is flowing. DiPaolo to the top . . . SMASH FROM THE TOP! Another one!!!. Williams bails. DiPaolo is outside. They are brawling. Williams grabs a chair . . . WACK! Marella calls for the bell and bloodied Dr. Death is out via the first disqualification of the year!
The dreaded DQ strikes and ends this wild battle.
