I never quite understood this debate. I mean sure, if you grew up and had your formative years of watching Sullivan in the late '80s early '90s you would most remember Sullivan as a member of the Varsity Club. However, it was such a short period of his career when compared to the "Devil" Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan was best known and drew the most from his time in Florida, and with his "Devil" gimmick. He also brought so little to the table with the varsity club, it was really Steiner, Rotunda, Williams, and later, Spivey. If we ever get a Sullivan, I hope it is the "Devil" Sullivan as that was his absolute apex. It's similar to the Adrian Adonis card though. Many people preferred Adorable Adrian despite thar being basically the final ⁹2 years of his career compared to the original version we got covering the first 15 years of his career. Is Sullivan more of an art choice though? Would the stats be that much different between Florida Sullivan & Varsity Sullivan? I'd probably argue that the stats would assuredly be better with the Florida Sullivan. Sullivan was on top in CWF for the bulk of his time there - with his "Devil" gimmick. Winning their main belt once, the Florida version of the Southern title another four times, and won the tag team titles four times, with two different partners total. In WCW/Crocket, he was leader of the Varsity Club for a short time, and was replaced relatively quickly, and during that time only won the United States tag team titles one time. Sure, people love the idea of the Varsity Club, and using your comparison to Adonis, we got biker Adonis first, then adorable Adrian. Biker Adonis was probably Adonis's apex, get the apex card first, then get the gimmicky card, IMO.

In other news, I think it might have been on 114, but Cory Olson you mentioned your ‘new timekeeping method.’ Is this the one you described in the uses thread? Or is this newer? If it’s newer I’d love to hear about it on a future show. This was the system I have mentioned before but I would be happy to review it in a future episode!

Fred Blassie was one of the foremost heels in wrestling history, nearly on a level with Rogers. We need prime wrestling stats first, Hollywood Fashion Plate later, if at all. This. LOW should be in some sense a document of wrestling history, and in wrestling history Blassie is far, far more significant as a wrestler than as a manager. I enjoyed him as a manager just fine too, but...what all did he do, exactly? He interfered some. He didn't take bumps. Memorable interviews? He was already a legendary interview as a wrestler. I've been one of the ones beating the drum the loudest for the next Sullivan card to be CWF Sullivan, but yes, in truth, stats-wise there'd be almost no difference between Florida Sullivan and Black Robe Sullivan, or really even Taskmaster Sullivan. If there are going to be two Sullivan cards, then I'm with Grant--it should be one "evil" Sullivan, portrayed whichever way he's portrayed, and one '70s power-lifter Sullivan. I don't see the need to get that granular to separate Sullivan in his Army of Darkness and Varsity Club phases. But I personally think facepainted Sullivan would pop out more in color.

Nah. Nahnahnah hey, hey, hey, and all the rest.
I'm as on board with the wrestling history as anyone (as my record will sustain), but I stop at "if at all" when we talk about a Blassie manager card. It is a thing that needs to be. Sure, he was great wrestler before most of us were alive or forming cogent thoughts (some may still not be), and we know all about Rikidozan and the feud with Tolos. His place in wrestling history in that regard is secure and not in dispute. But that's no reason to belittle his place throughout the 70s and into the 80s as a manager and high profile character. If you can get two Adrian Adonis cards or Larry Zbyszko as a young babyface then there's not a reason in the world to ignore recognizing Blassie as a manager.

I dont think anyone would argue there shouldnt be a Blassie manager card (well maybe they would but they shouldnt). Fuji, Dillon, Ellering. They've all received both prime (ish) wrestler cards and manager cards. I think Blassie should eventually be the same. Personally I'd want that wrestler card first ( I dont really see why his prime being before I was born really matters- its like saying we should have had King Harley Race first because his prime was also in the 70s and more people were alive for his midcard WWF run), but I hope we get both.

Chalk me up for wanting both, but a wrestler Blassie in a regular set and a manager Blassie in prime.
I'd love to see a prime set with manager Blassie, Nikita Breznikov and an official Legends Percy Pringle III (along with Len Denton and Tony Anthony as a DWB team and Tony as Grappler II and Sky Low Low, Little Beaver and a wrestler bear in another)

Yeah, with regard to Blassie, it's more about priorities than one-or-the-other. When/if he gets released it should be as a wrestler first.
