Great last couple of shows. It was cool to see the Valiant Brothers win the tag titles, especially from the double tough Road Warriors. I wasn't surprised to see Lou Thesz win the world title from Randy Savage in the cage. It's tough to hold of Thesz once let alone twice. I'm really liking the Yukon Eric vs. Angelo Mosca feud but poor Larry Sharpe getting put through a window! I'm also really enjoying the Jack Brisco vs. Nick Bockwinkel rivalry. Although I would have liked Macho Madness to run wild a little longer, it's difficult to complain about Thesz being the new champ... Also a little surprised the Roadies didn't get past their second title defense... That's part of this game's beauty however - the lack of predictability. We'll get a blow-off between Yukon Eric and Mosca at some point... Too bad Sharpe got caught in the middle... And Tricky Nicky has a really tough challenge ahead - Jack B in an I Quit match... Heenan better have a strong strategy in place. Truly appreciate the continued interest and kind words, my friend... Many thanks!

American Showdown Wrestling #16 BRISCO vs. BOCKWINKEL II
DUTCH MANTELL def. Johnny Rodz via pinfall after a DOUBLE DUTCH CLUTCH. -- Tokens: Mantell 1 - Rodz 1 -- Rodz landed some impressive offense, including a pair of high impact counters off the ropes that had Mantell in real trouble. Refusing to stay down, Mantell pressured Rodz into rushing his decisions and capitalized on his first mistake.
IVAN KOLOFF def. Pepper Gomez via pinfall after a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP. -- Tokens: n/a -- Gordon Solie conducted a prematch interview with Ivan Koloff. He spoke his mind, indicating that he wanted to destroy all American opposition. -- This was a swift and brutal encounter that ended more abruptly than expected.
SHEEPHERDERS (Luke Williams & Butch Miller) def. Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) via pinfall when Williams pinned Fulton <into the ropes> with a jackknife cradle. -- Tokens: Williams 6, Miller 2 - Fulton 4 -- Gordon Solie conducted a prematch interview with the Fantastics. Eager to move past their recent failure to capture the LWGP World Tag Team Championship, they spoke with passion and were clearly fired up for this encounter. <Fulton started on Level 2 Offense.> -- Rapid fire teamwork had this heated exchange moving at a fever pitch. A surprise appearance by Lou Albano caused a commotion at ringside that distracted the Fantastics and allowed the Sheepherders to gain the upper hand. Mr Saito & Mr Fuji jumped Rogers while the referee was focused on the action inside the ring, preventing him from making the save.
TULLY BLANCHARD def. Magnum T.A. via pinfall after a SLINGSHOT SUPLEX. -- Tokens: Magnum 4 -- J.J. Dillon interrupted Gary Michael Cappetta while he was trying to complete the introductions to announce that he was now Blanchard's manager. When Dillon ordered Cappetta to show Blanchard the proper amount of respect, Magnum rushed the ring to begin the match in hard hitting fashion! <Magnum started on Level 2 Offense.> -- Constant harassment by Dillon prevented Magnum from gaining any real momentum. The Destroyer arrived at ringside to keep Dillon from getting involved, but he was blindsided by the LWGP Catch Class Champion, Dick Hutton! A wild brawl erupted between the two men, allowing Blanchard to nail Magnum with a foreign object during the confusion.
MIRACLE VIOLENCE CONNECTION (Steve Williams & Terry Gordy) def. Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan w/ Red Berry) via pinfall when Gordy pinned Costello after a lariat. -- Tokens: n/a -- This was an absolute squash as Gordy made short work of Costello while Williams took out Heffernan with a press slam that sent him crashing into Berry out on the floor!
NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) def. Jack Brisco in an 'I Quit' match to retain the LWGP United Open Championship. Bockwinkel forced Brisco to say 'I quit' after repeatedly smashing him with the title belt. -- Tokens: Bockwinkel 2 - Brisco 8 -- Brisco was busted open early following a piledriver onto the concrete floor. Blood loss took its toll and Brisco had difficulty keeping up with Bockwinkel while Heenan made certain that his client had whatever weapons were needed to inflict more damage. It was painfully obvious that Brisco was not going to surrender until Jerry Brisco arrived to convince his brother that he needed to survive to fight another day.
* Important News: Luke Williams suffered a legitimate injury during his match and will be out of action for 10 cards.

Not quite as epic as I was hoping for but Jack didn't go down easily. If you like heels winning this was your show.

Not quite as epic as I was hoping for but Jack didn't go down easily. If you like heels winning this was your show. Only putting 2 tokens on Bockwinkel was not the performance I expected from Jack B... And it will probably knock him out of title contention for awhile. The only match on this card that truly met my expectations (not including the glorified enhancement contest between Dutch and Rodz) was the Sheepherders vs. Fantastics encounter... Chose to get a little with the run-in interference (which is triggered by a wrestler rolling doubles when they are pinned)... Which helped the Sheepherders make an unexpected comeback and sets up a program between the Fantastics and the Shogun Assassins (the new tag team name that I'm going to use for Saito & Fuji). Always appreciate the input, my friend... Many thanks!

I would've loved to have seen that main-event match. While fairly one-sided, it would've been great theater. Unfortunately, you can always count on Rodz to make that one critical mistake that seals his fate. He was one of my favorites as a kid and that sounds about how all his matches went -- he'd control the action for a few minutes before getting obliterated.

Rodz actually gave Dutch a run for his money... Definitely more than I expected and I'm looking forward to what's next for both of them. The main event was not the back and forth battle that I wanted, but I think having Jerry convince his older brother that he had to give up added some emotional juice to the finish. Very pleased that you're enjoying the action, my friend... Plenty more to come!

This is a fabulous fed sir. You are a man after my own heart, because the longer I play, the more I care only about the matches, and where they take me. I just number the cards, and count the seasons...heck, I'm not too worried about year-end awards any longer for that matter. In the end, we all know who the greatest are in our feds; we all have our favorites as well. As has been said many, many times, those crazy dice don't lie! Good stuff my friend!
