“Thank you for calling the Appalachian Championship Wrestling hotline. I’m Gordon Solie with all your ACW news!
The dust has settled since our New Years Smash super show, and we have some news to report.”
“Due to injuries suffered during the stretcher match between Ivan Koloff and Sgt. Slaughter, Ivan Koloff will be out of action for at least 8 weeks. After the match, Sgt. Slaughter made his intentions clear, and I quote, “My work has just started. I just got Koloff out of here for a while, I’m setting my sights on Alexis Smirnoff, and that ACW Television title. I’m going to beat him for the belt and bring it back to the good old U.S.A.” Strong words from the American Hero.”
“Unfortunately, I also have to announce that Ricky Morton was severely injured during the scaffold match, and will be out indefinitely, after the Bolsheviks, Volkoff and Zhukov, threw Morton and Robert Gibson off the scaffold to retain their ACW Tag Team Championships. We’re sending out all your cards, prayers, and well wishes, to Ricky Morton. Get well soon.”
“ACW Women’s Champion, Sherri Martel defeated Fabulous Moolah in dominating fashion, and now awaits her next challenger. She will face the winner of a number one contender’s match between Mildred Burke and former champion Tina Moretti.”
“After defeating Stan Hansen, in what can only be described as one of the top ten matches in ACW history, ACW Heavyweight Champion, Magnum T.A. now awaits his next challenger, Austin Idol, with his manager, The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart. Idol, having defeated former ACW Heavyweight Champion BoBo Brazil earned his title match, and immediately challenged Magnum T.A. after his victory on New Year’s Day.”
“Our next Super Show, ACW’s Saint Valentine’s Massacre will take place at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and our main event will be ACW Heavyweight Champion, Magnum T.A. defending the title against Austin Idol. Other matches to be announced soon as contracts are finalized.”
“That’s all the news we have for you this week. I’m Gordon Solie and be sure to tune in to Appalachian Championship Wrestling on Superstation KFBE every week. We’ll have more news here, including match announcements, for St. Valentine’s Day Massacre Super Show soon, so kids, be sure to get your parents permission before calling. I’m Gordon Solie and I’ll speak with you next week.”
