Let's say your Ham, you're coaching the Lakers and you're two and a half games out of a play-off spot. Let's say LeBron goes off for 40 tonight against the Pacers. Do you rest him against New Orleans on Saturday to make sure he has his record breaking moment in the two game home stand the following week?

Do you rest him against New Orleans on Saturday to make sure he has his record breaking moment in the two game home stand the following week? If they are trying to make the playoffs they should not sit LeBron. Kareem did not break the record at home when he played for the Lakers as he did it against the Jazz in a game here in Las Vegas.

LeBron James scored 26 points tonight as the Lakers won 112-111 in Indiana. He is now 63 points away from breaking Kareem's record.

The number now sits at 63. Most projections are expecting now the Feb 7th OKC game or the 9th against the Bucks.

With the number now at 36, there's every chance the record falls tonight against OKC. If not, almost certainly Thursday against the Bucks.

Congrats LeBron. That was a record I never thought to be broken and LeBron might make it out of reach before he retires.

Congrats LeBron. That was a record I never thought to be broken and LeBron might make it out of reach before he retires. Absolutely, I would be shocked if LeBron does not go past at least 40,000-41,000 points.
