So I had a gig tonight. Just got done. Sat down to watch night 1 on Peacock and..I can’t. I can watch Night one in Spanish. I can watch the press conference. I can watch the pre show. But nowhere on Peacock is there a place to watch night one. Insanity.

NIGHT 1 THOUGHTS…
WOW!!! Best single night of wrestling I’ve seen since WM 30! Also, I didn’t look at my phone or laptop at all during the night. I just simply enjoyed the show with no distractions and it was awesome. Gonna do it that way again tonight for sure!
-I thought Cena was going to win for sure when he came out with the Make-A-Wish kids, but it was not to be. Was hoping the kids would walk/wheel down the ramp with him but it was still a cool moment.
-So glad the Street Profits won. I usually hate multi-team 4-ways but that was really good. Even the Viking Raiders pulled off a couple cool moves! Braun Strowman continues to be the most boring wrestler ever. All he does is grunt and look stupid.
-Logan Paul is better at sports entertaining than 90% of the roster. Incredible match!
-I was really hoping Damage Ctrl would win but oh well.
-Did the Mysterios’ match really need to be sponsored by Cinnamon Toast Crunch? It looked weird. They could have done that for the previous match. Anyway, an overbooked mess but still really entertaining.
-Rhea vs. Plastic Man was great! So happy that Rhea got her big moment! I liked how right before the top rope Riptide you could see Rhea mouth “thank you”. Nice touch!
-Pat McAfee was very entertaining at WM 38, but it’s just been downhill from there. He just annoys me now. Enough already. It doesn’t help that I hate Aaron Rodgers and Corey Graves nailed it when he called McAfee “Aaron Rodgers’ personal propaganda machine”, LOLOL!!! Poor Miz.
-Nice to see the night end on a super high note with Sami & K.O winning.
-The best ingredient of the night was the shorter entrances and longer match times. Such a great change of pace (literally, ha ha).
-On paper, Night 2 looked like the better lineup but good luck to them on topping Night 1!!!

I can watch Night one in Spanish. Sorry you're dealing with those tech issues. However, this reminded me of Bash At The Beach 1998. I had some buddies over and we watched it on Direct TV. I had only had Direct TV for about a week and somehow the language setting got set to Spanish and it took me about 3 matches before I figured out how to turn it back to English. Those 3 matches were hilarious (picture a group of 21-year-old guys drinking Natty Ice and enjoying some herbalogical products while watching wrestling in Spanish). We couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard, especially when one of the announcers shouted "ROOOOOOOODDDDDZZZZZIIIIILLLLAAAA!!!' when he was hyping up the main event (Hogan & Rodman vs. DDP & Karl Malone). Good times man! If you end up watching it in Spanish, report back on the experience!

So….how about this:
Cody wins. Tomorrow night on Raw, Roman goes total tyrant and starts blaming the Uso’s and Solo for his loss. He starts abusing them, as they cower, with Jey being the only one to show any form of standing up to Roman. But he too will not actually do anything physical to him as he is “the head of the table” and the “tribal chief”. He even pushes Heyman out of the ring….
Rikishi shows up, standing up to Roman telling him to stop treating his three sons like he is. Roman really flips and attack Rikishi….Solo and Jimmy stand by, heads down in submission to Roman’s tyrant-like authority….but you see Jey’s emotions beginning to boil over, and he finally launches into Roman, helping his dad. Roman is knocked out or something…he questions Jimmy and Solo why they would let their father be beat down….he and Rikishi leaves the ring….setting up a Jimmy vs Jey feud, and Roman maintains an unstable control over the bloodline (with Solo & Jimmy, along with Heyman). Unstable because Roman is really showing his paranoia and tyrannical ways of leadership.
Come Backlash, I like the idea of Orton vs Cody, but it ends with a no contest type finish, with Roman getting involved. Jey vs Solo, as Jimmy is still trying to get his twin to rejoin the Bloodline. Solo has their match won, setting up the Samoan Spike, but Jimmy stops him…giving Jey the distraction to get the win over his brother Solo.
Eventually, Jimmy vs Jey at one of the big PPV’s, probably SummerSlam. During that time, Roman is here and then not here, as he sinks into his own psychosis….somewhere along the way, triple threat for the belt (Roman vs Orton vs Cody, with either Cody or Orton coming out on top). This pushes Roman out for awhile OR he and Solo face off….then he leaves for a few months to take a break.

That IC title match was incredible. Best match of the event so far.

The Miz losses to Martha Stewart on Raw tomorrow, right? What the hell did he do to deserve such a burial? Snoop? I do wonder if that was the planned ending, with Shane blowing up his knee, just had to go sooner than anticipated. But Snoop taking out a former world champ with two punches and a failing elbow? Someone must hate the Miz for real in the back.

I’ll start by saying that I don’t watch a ton of modern wrestling, including wwe but that main event…oof. That was rough to watch with so many blown spots. I think they made the right decision keeping the belt on Roman. Yes, I picked Cody to win in the pick’ems but that was just because that’s where I thought it would lead. Glad I wound up being wrong. Cody ain’t ready.
The ‘yay/boo’ spots are so overdone. And the kicking out at 2 3/4s needs to stop. Any person with any legit sense of rhythm could tell that many of those were actually 3 counts. I feel bad for the refs.
A real hum drum two nights. The IC title match will be remembered but I’m not sure what else will.

Just my opinion but typical Brock match, typical Roman match. Rhea/Charlotte should have main evented.

I just got back from California after attending both nights of Wrestlemania 39 (along with 9 other shows.)
My favorite match was the Main Event of Night 1 of Sami Zayne and Kevin Owens winning both the RAW Tag Team Championship and the Smackdown Tag Team Championship from the Usos. I was so relieved that WWE made that match the main event of Night 1 because it absolutely merited that spot based on how great and important the Bloodline storyline has been the past year. And the fact that this match happened at Wrestlemania when the event was in Los Angeles was perfect because (as mentioned last week on RAW by both Zayne and Owens) it was in Los Angeles where they got their first big breaks in wrestling.
Did you guys see the PWG logo on the gear for both Owens and Zayne and the Super Dragon mask on the gear of Owens in Night 1's main event?
For Wrestlemania 39, Night 1 was overall my favorite night, but I also had fun tonight at Night 2. My favorite match for Night 2 was the triple threat. In the pickems I went with Sheamus as I thought this might be a good time for him to finally capture the Intercontinental Championship and the triple threat format would allow him to pin Drew McIntyre and thus they keep Gunther strong despite the title change. But I am not surprised they kept that belt on Gunther tonight.
I was a little surprised that Roman Reigns retained tonight but not as surprised as I was on Friday at Supercard of Honor when Mark Briscoe lost to Samoa Joe.
For the Indy shows that I attended, I think I had the most fun at DDT and at GCW's Emo Fight. At Emo Fight, in addition to the matches, they had 3 musical performances. The first performance I thought was really good. The second performance was by Horsehead and I thought that was OK and the 3rd performance sucked so bad I had to go the bar and get a couple of Bud Lights because I could not listen to that music without drinking. Some of the wrestlers, such as Sandra Moone, were out in the crowd singing along to some of the emo songs used by the wrestlers for their ring entrances and Willow Nightingale (she was one of the AEW wrestlers along with Orange Cassidy, Jungle Boy, Skye Blue, etc) who showed up for Emo Fight was briefly dancing to the music in the crowd.
I will probably post more of a recap later (I am running on fumes as I have been out until almost 3 AM at shows some nights and then waking up early to go to more shows the next day- for example NXT started at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning.)
