28 Nord the Barbarian Defeats 1 Andre the Giant
Nord pulls off a giant upset and continues his Cinderella run, improving to 4-0. Nord survived an early Giant pin attempt and rebounded to inflict enough damage to Andre so when he successfully pulled off a stomp to Andre's face he was able to jump on Andre for the 1-2-3-Victory!

14 Giant Machine defeats 15 Giant Haystacks
In a literal battle of giants it was the Machine who emerged victorious. This was a plodding match, as one would expect when over 14 feet and 1,100 pounds of man meet in the squared circle. Machine used his Crush to debilitate Haystacks and covered him for the easy 3 count.
* There are rumors circulating around in the locker room that the mysterious masked Giant Machine is none other than Andre the Giant. Which may explain why top seeded Andre dropped his match against Nord the Barbarian, he certainly couldn't wrestle himself could he with the two winners scheduled to face off in the Round of 8.

6 Kane defeats 23 Rikishi
The 7-footer wasted zero time, and almost as much effort, in easily dispatching his Samoan opponent. Two early Kane Chokeslams left Rikishi unresponsive on the mat when the ref stepped in and stopped the fight.

From the opening bell Sid suffocated the Rocky Mountains native, showing off his arsenal of kicks and stomps. He laid Vader out for good with a finishing leg drop.

26 Typhoon defeats 2 Gorilla Monsoon
The upsets continue to roll in, proving this is anyone's belt. Gorilla never got his offense unlocked, instead it was move after move by Typhoon. He ended the match on his 3rd pin attempt with a Tidal Wave finisher that knocked Monsoon out.

OMG was all over Scott Norton. As the pressure mounted Norton had no counters to Gang's onslaught. Gang executed a perfect Corner Avalanche and then easily pinned Scott Norton.

25 Earthquake defeats 4 Big John Studd
Another upset!
Earthquake brought the heat early and often to Studd. While Studd was on the ground recovering from a body slam, 'Quake walked across Studd's chest. Well, that 468 pound belly rub knocked the wind out of Studd leading to an easy pin for Earthquake.

19 Blackjack Mulligan defeats 12 Mark Henry
With each wrestler having constant counters to the other's strengths, this match went back n forth and nowhere all at the same time. It was a measured battle, with neither wrestler inflicting much damage or sustaining any momentum. In the 9th minute Mulligan hit Henry with his trademark Lariat and Clawhold moves, the latter was just enough to pin Henry as Mark's shoulder did come off the canvas but upon instant replay review it was 3.03 seconds after the pin started.

Quarterfinals
14 Giant Machine defeats 28 Nord the Barbarian
Fan favorite and long underdog Nord the Barbarian finally ran out of magic. Nord actually held more than his own this match and had an early chance for a win, but Machine easily rolled out of a pin attempt. Machine grabbed control of the match and ended Nord's tournament with a Machine Crush finisher.
22 Sycho Sid defeats 6 Kane
Sid came out with his trademark blond locks on fire and was all over Kane from the opening bell. A second consecutive Big Boot dazed Kane to the point where he didn't even know he had been pinned. Kane moves on to face Giant Machine in the semis.
26 Typhoon defeats 13 One Man Gang
One Man Gang got caught up in the uncontrollable natural disaster that is a Typhoon. Typhoon instantly went to work and softened up his 457 lb. opponent behind a series of body slams to the point where a 3rd pin attempt earned Typhoon a victory.
25 Earthquake defeats 19 Blackjack Mulligan
Slowly and methodically Earthquake used his definitive power advantage to hold the upper hand over Blackjack Mulligan. Mulligan was game and fought off three pin tries, he was able to toss 'Quake into the turnbuckle. Mulligan then mustered up all his anger and charged at his opponent with a running clothesline, but in a shock to everyone Earthquake slid out of the way and Mulligan bashed into the turnbuckle and fell to the ground. Earthquake took his time, gazing down at his fallen foe and slowly sat atop Blackjack for the requisite three seconds. Great match by Earthquake to advance to the semis.
