 ...The Interplanetary Title that is the next step below the G-Con Cup will be introduced this year to heat up the summer in Jamestown! This is a prototype plate design that will turn into the real deal like those of you saw in '08 with the Trivia title. This belt is for the minor tournaments (Todd may have more info on how it'll play out) and will have side plates built in so the winner of it each year can have their name put on it. The I-P title is crafted by myself, Eric Konecne from Asteroid Belt Company (the little name I gave the product) and was a joy to design and can't wait until it's finished. It's even more joyful to take it to G-Con when I attend this year and see someone win it. It's not a real belt like the big boys, but it is a neat little trophy to have fun with at Galacticon. Let the hype begin...if you're on the fence about going, this is yet another reason to attend...try to lay claim to this bad boy and have full bragging rights for a year! Once the real title is completed, I will post pics of it to really give you the big picture of what it looks like. So in the meantime, there it is in prototype form, now let the games begin! |

Crap! I have already used my vacation time at work so can't make it.
The belt is awesome! I look forward to getting a shot at it next year.

A big thanks to Eric for designing the IP Title. I wanted something nice for the winner amongst the non-Galacticon Cup Tournament qualifiers (lets not call them minor tournaments). The idea with this belt is to have the defending champion automatically entered into the tournament the next year along with all the non-cup tournaments. Just something else for Troy to win.  |
