I got home from work last night, opened my mailbox and it was Christmas in July. There was a nice big envelope from Filsinger Games. Some quick thoughts from the 2139 set as it will be a while before I start using the cards.
- Rock 'n' Wrestling 2.0 is upon us. Where is Mr. T/Billy Jo Boxer when we need him. I guess Tank/Freedom Fighter could fill in since he has a boxing background.
- Shayne's Posse looks like a wild bunch.
- Climber joining New Vibe is brilliant.
- Ending a lifetime band to bring a veteran and part of the foundation of GWF's early days is genius.
- Even if it is not OUR Krakan. I mean, we all agree he is from a different dimension, right? In fact, I think it will come out he is behind the portal to Kronos being all wacky.
- Some vets left to make room for new faces. Some vets left to make room for more vets.
- While only implied it is strongly implied that Apex will be doing battle with his fellow Aethrans.
- Lord Nexus better be very careful that Perfect Specimen hasn't already joined New Vibe. He could be Deva's inside man to try and bring the Titan team down. She has got rid of FDF and we know she wants to bring the Titans down so an inside man is one way to go about it.
- Disappointed that Kenji does not have a finisher higher than +1. I would have preferred a +3 on a six and a 0 on a five. But that is ok. I will probably just make it that way when I use his card.
- Titan Power's story reminds me of something we would see in real wrestling.
- I am going to enjoy 2139 because I see GWF is going in a different direction next year and that can mean only one thing. Wrestling matches replaced with a singing competition. On the plus side it will be neat to find out that The Basilisk has a beautiful operatic voice.

I have gradually started mixing in the new cards into my Ring of Vega (ROV) fed. As you can see while reading what I typed below, I tend to follow the official storyline closely in my COTG feds as these days overall I am personally mostly an Indies player.
Before the set was released, for my annual Vega Warfare show, I had Scorn booked to challenge Storm for the Womens Championship and Scorn won to win the Womens Championship for her third time. Right after Scorn won the title, she was suddenly attacked in the ring by a returning Nosfera who (before being chased away by Shayne and Zulfiqar) injured her. Deva then announced that due to her injuries Scorn would have to relinquish the championship and the new champion would be the winner of that night's womens Vega Warfare match.
In the womens Vega Warfare match, both Purge and Nakano Takeko made their surprise debuts as unannounced match entrants. Purge actually made the first two eliminations (Sinful and Bulldoze) and Nakano Takeko made it to the final two before losing to Lady Grandmaster. Nakano Takeko thus almost won the Womens Championship in her debut match but instead Lady Grandmaster won the womens Vega Warfare match for the second time in her career and thus in the process also won her 2nd Womens Championship (she also held the Castilex Womens Championship too.) So far, I think Nakano Takeko is one of my favorites of the new cards.
Also on that show, the opening Wild Card battle royal or the final spot in the mens Vega Warfare match was won by Kenji with his new card. In that match, I also used Burning Man's new card too.
Tomorrow in my daily posting results, I will play and post the results of the mens Vega Warfare match where some more of the 2139 cards will be making their unannounced/surprise debuts.

One other note I forgot to mention. I see New Vibe, and in a way others, are going all Bullet Club with subgroups inside the larger one. I dig it.

- While only implied it is strongly implied that Apex will be doing battle with his fellow Aethrans. I have a feeling there's going to be a major overhaul is some teams and structure coming in 2140 because there's some very loosey goosey phrasing around Siege & Fist can come back in 2139 'whenever you want'. That signals to me that if you bring them back in 2139 or don't it won't matter in 2140 as Tom has other plans for them.

Yeah, I was going to have them come back for my 2nd major PPV in April, so they miss 3 months with them being aloof w/ Apex, who I think is pulling a Spike(gets one year with another team).

I'm playing it by ear and will bring them back when the time feels right.
I think Tom is going to swerve us with the whole hivemind thing and when the dust settles.... STORM will be the new M.O.W.!!! She has to be the daughter or granddaughter of Massacre doesn't she?

Fist is gone for me either way, Siege is having a good singles run and Apex & Bulldoze are crushing the tag ranks.
