Very cool that Young was able to secure a big W in the main event without the aid of shenanigans... And I enjoyed that virtual squash by Masha... But, not as much as that post-match sneak attack. HAVOKILLER!

Impact December - Week 1 - Year 1 Commentary: Excalibur and Taz
Kurt Angle comes to the ring to open the show. He says after AJ Styles kicked him in the head during their match at Turning Point, he will not be cleared to wrestle until the new year. However, he wants Styles to get out here because he has some big news for him. He tells Styles he is clearly one of the best wrestlers in the world today, but when all is said and done, his lack of integrity will always be a stain on his title reign. Styles cuts him off and says Angle's brain is clearly still scrambled from their match last month. Angle ignores the jibe and says he has been in discussions with TNA management and has a surprise for him. While he won't be fighting Angle at Final Resolution, he will be defending the World Heavyweight Championship and it will be awesome... Styles smirks and goes to walk away but turns right into the path of Awesome Kong!!! He quickly flees the ring before she can get hold of him as Angle laughs at him
The Kingdom def. Violent By Design by DQ Bennett and Taven put up a far greater fight than Rhino and Jon Davis expected, which led to Wes Brisco, who was ringside, taking matters into his own hands, and leaping up onto the apron to hit an unsuspecting Taven with a kendo stick
Alex Zayne def. Ricochet by pinfall The ref gets knocked down accidentally when Ricochet goes for a high risk move, allowing Zayne to take charge and win with a Taco Driver
Johnny Gargano is interviewed backstage, where he says he has clearly earned a shot at any title he wants. With that in mind, he is here to tell everyone that he has decided he will be challenging for the Digital Media title at Final Resolution. Matt Cardona interrupts him, telling him he doesn't just get to decide he is getting a title shot. However, Cardona says, he has caught him on a good day and is feeling kind, so if Gargano can beat Brian Myers next Tuesday on Xplosion then he can have his title shot at Final Resolution.
Thunder Rosa def. Trish Adora by pinfall Rosa stuns everyone with a fast victory over Adora, putting her away with La Rosa
The camera cuts backstage, where a group of Knockouts are all talking nervously about Jessicka Havok. Masha Slamovich comes in to the locker room and tells them she will not allow another Knockout to fall victim to Havok
Delmi Exo and Ashley Vox are interviewed backstage. Exo says tag team wrestling is what they live and breath for, and being the TNA tag team champions was a dream come true for them. Vox says the Canadian Ninjas have been better than them so far, but they will work harder than ever to win back their tag titles.
Matt Hardy def. Mike Bailey by pinfall Speedball does impress against his veteran opponent, but Hardy's wily ways get him the win as he escapes the ring after a Running Corkscrew Press and then hits Bailey with a Twist of Fate as they slide back into the ring.
Holidead def. Big Swole by pinfall The second victory of the night by the Twister Sisterz, with Holidead getting the pin after a second Darkness Falls
'All Ego' Ethan Page def. Pepper Parks by pinfall Page is caught off guard initially, and is almost pinned when Parks hits Varsity Blues. But Page gets back in control and wins with the Spinning Dwayne. Post-match, Page takes the mic and says he is here to save his friends from Violent By Design. VBD surround the ring, with Eric Young asking him how he plans to do that on his own. At that point, Moose, Josh Alexander and Danhausen run out and the four brawl around ringside. Security and referees manage to break them up, but the war is well and truly underway now
Team Sea Stars def. The Buddy System by pinfall It's not the most convincing of victories, but it is a win for Vox and Exo as they begin their pursuit of the tag titles once again, pinning Lovelace following a Flopping Fish
America's Most Wanted and LAX come to the ring for a contract signing for their title match at Final Resolution. Homicide initially refuses to sign, saying AMW have had their chance and they failed. James Storm points out that LAX cheated to retain the tag titles, so he may want to shut his damn mouth and prove they really are the wrestlers they claim to be. LAX sign, but before AMW sign, Homicide says they can have the title shot as long as it's in a steel cage. As Storm and Harris complete their signatures, Hernandez says they also just agreed that if they lose, they will not be able to challenge for the tag titles for an entire year. AMW flip the table and the four men brawl to close the show

When united, All Ego & the Walking Weapon are a tough act to beat... Do they have the manpower to face VBD?
A big win for Gargano to lock down his title shot. Nice!

VBD vs The North, Moose and Danhausen will happen at some stage, but who will come out on top? Gargano is getting his chance, but there may still be some bumps in the road for him to come

Nice touch of drama with Ciampa arriving at the 11th hour to help Gargano against the Major Players... We all know this won't end well, but it feels good at the time. HA! Will Ciampa help Gargano win the title, or does he have his own agenda now he has scored a pinfall over the champion? Time shall tell
