Nice win for Ace. If only there was a way for the X champion to get a title shot. I am sure Austin will come up with something.
Eric Young failed in that Feast Or Fired match. He got no case, and it is possible Danhausen is our next World Champion.

Not impressed that AJ dropped that opener to Ace... What are the bookers playing at, eh? Trying to give their X division a push at the expense of their top champion and the Face that Runs this Place... Not smart.
But, on a positive note... Look at the painted goblin now, Mr Young... VERY NICE! VERY EVIL!

He got no case, and it is possible Danhausen is our next World Champion. He may just be about to get some guidance from another AA on exactly this matter... Thanks for your interest!!

VERY NICE! VERY EVIL! One of the booker's more interesting decisions so far, although Styles is now beginning to find himself in the crosshairs of a number of challengers - and he'll be getting one more when the Feast or Fired briefcases are revealed on next week's Impact! Thanks for staying tuned

Xplosion! January - Week 3 - Year 2 Commentary: Excalibur and Austin Aries
Eric Young comes to the ring, telling the crowd he was cheated in Feast or Fired, but that he will be resolving this issue tonight. Rhino, Wes Brisco and Jon Davis drag Rob Van Dam out from the back along with his briefcase. Young tells him he cannot just wander into TNA acting king of the castle, and then earn himself a potential title shot almost immediately. So, in tonight's main event, he will agree to put his briefcase on the line, or Violent By Design could just take it now. RVD agrees to fight for it in the main event.
Trish Adora def. Tasha Steelz by pinfall Adora is always in control and wins with an Olympic Slam
James Gang def. Besties in the World by knockout The James Gang win when the match is stopped as Mat Fitchett is knocked out in a James Gang Ambush
The Kingdom are interviewed backstage, calling out Matt and Jeff Hardy ahead of Genesis. Matt Taven says he is fed up of seeing them now and wants to bring an end to their time in TNA. Mike Bennet says it's no longer the early 2000s and the Hardys are no longer relevant, but they do want to pay homage to their favourite tag team of that era, when they face the Hardys in a tables match.
Feast or Fired Briefcase Eric Young def. Rob Van Dam by pinfall to win the briefcase Young kicks out of a Van Terminator when VBD create a distraction for the referee, and he gets the win himself with a Spike Piledriver

Impact January - Week 3 - Year 2 Commentary: Excalibur and Taz
Danhausen, PCO, Johnny Gargano and Eric Young open the show in the ring, each with their Feast or Fired briefcase in hand. Danhausen is the first to open his, revealing an X Division title contract, while Gargano's contains a World Heavyweight Title shot. Young starts to pace back and forth as he realises he could have inadvertently lost his job after winning against RVD. Young and PCO open their briefcases at the same time, revealing Young has a tag title shot and PCO is being fired. As PCO flips the table, Young grabs the microphone and tells everyone he is cashing his contract in immediately, he demands security 'get this freak out of here' as he points at PCO, and demands the tag champions get to the ring.
World Tag Team Championship Violent By Design (Eric Young and Rhino) def. America's Most Wanted by pinfall to win the titles VBD use their numbers to throw AMW off their game and get the win. Brisco and Davis whip Storm into the guardrail, before hurling Harris into the crowd. Storm is rolled into the ring and directly into a Gore!
Courtney Rush def. Solo Darling by pinfall The F5 gives Rush a win Masha Slamovich attacks Rush as she leaves the ring, just days before her handicap match at Genesis. Slamovich tells Excalibur and Taz that this is a warning to Havok, before putting Rush through the announce table
Chris Sabin def. John Morrison by pinfall Sabin continues to get the better of Morrison in a match where the referee is inadvertently knocked out by a stray Morrison superkick. Sabin capitalises on the incident, landing Hail Sabin and Cradle Shock while the ref was down, before winning with a sitout powerbomb
Matt and Jeff Hardy are interviewed backstage about The Kingdom's challenge. Matt says they have forgotten more than Taven and Bennett will ever know about tables matches, with Jeff telling them they will see them on Sunday
Impact Players def. LAX by pinfall Cardona lands a jumping leg lariat on Hernandez to get the win
Twisted Sisterz confront Canadian Ninjas backstage, telling them they will be leaving Genesis the new Women's tag champions
Josh Alexander def. Frankie Kazarian by pinfall Kaz puts up an excellent fight, but Alexander is a tough opponent and wins with a torture rack bomb Emboldened by their tag title win, VBD attack Alexander post match, with Danhausen, Moose and Ethan Page rushing out to save him. The eight man brawl around ringside and it is announced they will face each other at Genesis.
Jordynne Grace comes to the ring, saying she has taken on any challengers but so far no one has stepped up to her for this Saturday's pay-per-view event. She asks if anyone wants a shot at her title this weekend. She waits but initially there is no response. Just as she goes to talk again, Trish Stratus walks out onto the stage! Trish says she has nothing else going on this weekend, so she'll see her at Genesis.
Lufisto def. Cherry Bomb by pinfall A spinning backfist gets Lufisto the win
Moose def. Trey Miguel by pinfall A quick win for Moose, who lands a spear.
AJ Styles is interviewed ahead of Genesis. He says he knows plenty of people are vying for a shot at his World Heavyweight Championship right now, but none are capable of beating him when it matters. Angle can't do it, there's no way Gargano can do it and Ace Austin better not think about stepping up to his level, because one lucky victory does not make you World Champion material.
X Division Championship Ace Austin (c) def. Mike Bailey by pinfall to retain The BangOrama earns Austin the victory in the main event
