ROUNDS NINE AND TEN LIVE FROM THE HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM in MANHATTAN NEW YORK Tuesday October 29th, 2024 ATTENDANCE: 3,227 ROUND NINE“Little B@stard” Swoggle v “Super Cop” Dick JusticeThe two men who have struggled the most in the American Division Round Robin faced off in this match. Swoggle used his speed advantage over the “Super Cop” to control most of the action and picked up a pair of near falls with Tadpole Splashes before earning the victory after catching Dick Justice with a DDT for the pinfall victory. WINNER: Swoggle“Phenomenal” AJ Styles v “Lunatic Fringe” Jon MoxleyThe “Phenomenal” AJ Styles looked to continue his newfound role of spoiler as this match saw AJ Styles control most of the action over the “Lunatic Fringe” and even caught Jon Moxley with a second rope Styles Clash only for the “Lunatic Fringe” to just barely get his shoulder off the mat. Shortly after the “Phenomenal One” locked Jon Moxley in the Calf Killer and kept the “Lunatic Fringe” locked in the hold for several long minutes before Jon Moxley finally fought his way to the ropes to force the break. AJ Styles then caught Jon Moxley with a second Styles Clash to earn the pinfall victory in this match. WINNER: AJ StylesColt “Boom Boom” Cabana v Darby AllinDarby Allin kept this match at a rapid pace in the early stages and managed to catch Colt Cabana with a pair of Coffin Drops before “Boom Boom” could manage to mount a comeback. Once in control of the match Colt Cabana quickly caught Darby Allin with the Colt .45 for a near fall. Colt Cabana then tossed Darby Allin out of the ring and as “Boom Boom” followed him out Darby Allin caught Colt Cabana with dropkick before hitting Colt Cabana with a pair of suicide dives before hitting a Coffin Drop onto Colt Cabana on the arena floor. Darby Allin struggled to get “Boom Boom” back into the ring and the delay gave Colt Cabana just enough time to recover enough to kick out. Darby Allin then went for another Coffin Drop only for Colt Cabana to roll out of the way and catch Darby Allin with a second Colt .45 for another near fall. Colt Cabana then locked Darby Allin in the Billy Goat’s Curse to earn the submission victory. WINNER: Colt Cabana“Hangman” Adam Page v “American Dragon” Bryan DanielsonThe “American Dragon” immediately took control of this one and looked to put “Hangman” away within the first minute as Bryan Danielson got Adam Page to the mat and locked on the LeBell Lock. “Hangman” reached the ropes to force the break and then rolled to the arena floor. Bryan Danielson followed Adam Page out of the ring only for the “Hangman” to catch the “American Dragon” with a snap powerslam on the arena floor. “Hangman” then rolled Bryan Danielson back into the ring and caught the “American Dragon” with several Rites of Passage as Adam Page looked to remain in contention in the American Division Round Robin, but Bryan Danielson kept kicking out. MJF just barely beat the ten count and as MJF slid back into the ring Johnny Gargano pulled Maxwell Jacob Friedman into the center of the ring and locked on the Garga-No Escape for the submission victory. WINNER: Johnny Gargano“Panama City Playboy” Adam Cole v “Future” Chris SabinThe “Future” Chris Sabin put up one heck of a fight in this match as he not only looked to remain in contention in the American Division Round Robin, but as Chris Sabin also tried to hand the “Panama City Playboy” his first loss. Despite a very strong start that nearly saw Chris Sabin shock Adam Cole (BayBay!) with the Cradle Shock for a near fall within the opening minute. Adam Cole rallied shortly after when the “Panama City Playboy” caught Chris Sabin coming off the top rope and stunned the “Future” with a dropkick. Adam Cole (BayBay!) then caught Chris Sabin with a pair of Panama Sunrises for a pair of near falls before ending this match with the Florida Key. WINNER: Adam ColeTAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL ROUND MATCHSTEENERICO (El Generico & Kevin Steen) v RENO SCUM (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend)The closer teams get to the finish line in the MFWrestling World Tag Team Championship tournament the more stops’ teams seem to be pulling out to pick up the victory. At different points throughout this one both teams completely isolated members of the opposing team with Steenerico first isolating Luster the Legend and beating the big man down earning several near falls before Reno Scum could make the comeback and catch Kevin Steen in their corner. Reno Scum then caught “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” with several Scum Stomps, yet they couldn’t keep Kevin Steen down. Kevin Steen eventually found enough separation to tag El Generico back into the match. El Generico and Adam Thornstowe started going back and forth with both men managing to earn near falls on the other with Adam Thornstowe first catching El Generico with both the Tombstone Piledriver and Frog Splash before El Generico rolled out of the way of a second Frog Splash attempt before hitting Adam Thornstowe with a multiple Spike Brainbusters. After that Bryan Danielson knocked Chris Sabin out cold with a roundhouse kick combo for the pinfall victory. WINNER: Bryan Danielson“Phenomenal” AJ Styles v “Johnny Wrestling” Johnny GarganoOnce again AJ Styles entered this match looking to play spoiler and the “Phenomenal One” did everything AJ Styles could think of think to keep “Johnny Wrestling” on the defensive and it may have worked in the “Phenomenal One’s” favor if AJ Styles hadn’t had hit the referee when the “Phenomenal One” was looking to hit a Phenomenal Forearm and Johnny Gargano ducked under. AJ Styles then caught Johnny Gargano with a pair of Styles Clashes, but without the referee there to make the three count this match continued, and it gave Johnny Gargano the opening “Johnny Wrestling” needed to mount the comeback. Johnny Gargano then quickly wore down AJ Styles with the Hurts Donut and Crosston Crab before locking AJ Styles in the Garga-No Escape in the center of the ring leaving AJ Styles no choice but to tap out. WINNER: Johnny GarganoColt “Boom Boom” Cabana v “Hangman” Adam PageAdam Page had all the pressure in the world on him as he entered this match. The “Hangman” simply refused to go down in the match and even managed to connect with multiple Rites of Passage on “Boom Boom” only for Colt Cabana to quickly kick out following each one as Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana was looking to secure his spot in the top four. The end of this match saw “Hangman” Adam Page climbing to the top rope only for Colt Cabana to recover and catch “Hangman” with a superplex and then floating over into the cover to earn the pinfall victory.
