I can't believe I never put that Morpheus/Bruno connection and now I can't not see this moving forward. I always saw Morpheus as a Mr. Sinister kind of type as he really imprinted on me as a Manager/Commissioner working from the shadows. On Morpheus, at first, it was more that I saw him purely as the same body-type as Bruno, a powerlifter's frame, etc. And then, over time, with regards to his personality, he gradually morphed from pseudo-heel to at least somewhat more of the popular Bruno archetype. It just clicked for me, for whatever reason! With all that said, he stays somewhat "tweener" for me, in that he can be the heel when the situation demands (and when he faces Omega, the situation demands!). Absolutely his body type is very reminiscent of of Bruno and totally get it. If he was just as dominate instead of Omega I may have picked up on it. |

I'll add one other match up, as I had a day off yesterday and rolled some bones. I was inspired by this thread to try some more COTG vs. LOW. So....I give you Perfect Specimen vs. Rick Rude. Yes, I know I already said Spec vs. a lot of LOW heels works, but this match up intrigued me, so I ran it on a card. And it did not disappoint. Spec did win, at almost the time limit (ran a 15-minute match real time, equaling a 60-minute match in game time), but Rude gave him all that he could handle. Match was a lot of fun, and I could clearly picture it in my head (my litmus test for a great match, or for that matter, a great match up!). Rude was a bloody mess, as Spec put enough tokens on him so that his PIN was 12 by the time it came time to roll for it. Almost turned Rude face, by the "intestinal fortitude" that he showed...almost.  Worthy of a rematch, and a feud may have blossomed. Along with perhaps a double turn... Highly recommended, if you're looking for more COTG vs. LOW fun! |
