I went to Los Angeles today to go to this GCW show.
Nick Gage was announced for this show (not for a match) but he was not there unfortunately. Also, Joey Janela was not there as he was injured from his recent deathmatch in Japan against Junai Kasai. JTG replaced Joey Janela in the match against Santana Jackson.
We got to Los Angeles about 2 1/2 hours before bell time (heavy traffic slowed us up) and the 3 friends I rode with all work for GCW so they went to work and I instead took a $5 Lyft ride to go to this nearby bar I like where I used my phone to watch most of MLW's Slaughterhouse on FITE+ until it was time to go back to the venue for the show.
results:
JCW World Champion Jordan Oliver defeated Jordan Cruz
This was a good match even though I knew there was no way Jordan Cruz was winning the JCW World Championship.
Lil Cholo defeated Bobby Flaco
This was an unannounced match but a good way for GCW to honor Lil Cholo's 25 years (as of this month) in wrestling.
GCW World Tag Team Champions Los Macizos defeated Violence is Forever.
I talked to Miedo Extremo tonight before the show and he likes the art for his upcoming card.
Thrussy (Allie Katch, Dark Sheik & EFFY) defeated the Gahbage Daddies (Alec Price and Cole Radrick) and Bodhi Young Prodigy
This was a really good match.
Jack Cartwheel defeated Tony Deppen
I was a little surprised that Cartwheel defeated Deppen.
Sawyer Wreck defeated Jimmy Lloyd
GCW World Champion Blake Christian defeated Paul London to retain the GCW World Championship
Before this match, Christian described London as being too old but I thought London- who earlier this year was inducted into the Indie Wrestling Hall Of Fame- did a good job.
Santana Jackson defeated JTG
JTG was the injury replacement for Joey Janela in this match. From my seat on the stage, I could see JTG dressed in his gear and talking to Bret Lauderdale before the show so I knew he would be on this show at some point.
Arez and Gringo Loco defeated Aramis and Rey Horus
I think this was my favorite match of the night.
On the way home, we stopped for gas (really cheap when split 4-ways since my friend drives a hybrid) and then went to Jack in the Box as it was right next to the gas station and there was nobody in the drive-thru lane. I got some Monster Tacos which are only going to be around until Halloween.
No shows next weekend to attend but the following weekend I plan to go to Circle 6 and then New Japan (both in Las Vegas.) I have two more Los Angeles trips planned this year which are for AEW's Full Gear PPV next month and then GCW again on December 9th.
