So does Tom Jenkin's use the Half Nelson finish to roll the other guy into a pinning predicament or what?

I think generally, yes. Half, three-quarter, and quarter nelsons aren't really submission holds in and of themselves, they're used to set up other holds, pins, or moves. He's essentially "shooting the half" as a finisher.

He's essentially "shooting the half" as a finisher. That's what I figured. Thanks! ALso, Horowitz pinning Candido in 1995 or 96 with the 3/4 nelson is still burned into my brain.
