I've bad mouthed the art so far, and stand by it, but this one is genuinely good in my opinion. Making the others that much more disappointing. And my first thought is that this is among the worst color art ever.

This right here should really shut anyone who believes that the lack of support for this set has to do with the fact that it is women wrestlers, just shutting right up.
Honestly the premise could have worked, and this is coming from someone who owns every Shimmer, Best Of The Indies Women, and Legendary Ladies sets, but it just couldn’t overcome the art. The bike seat, odd left leg, just make this art seem almost like a rib. My biggest issue with the set was the mixing of color wrestlers with B&W, prior to this teaser.
I may be convinced to buy once I know numbers of wrestlers that are current.

It may be time for Ole Anderson to step in and say, “don’t do this anymore”
What ole?
“All of it!”

My goodness.
I stopped by to check out what loyal promoters thought of Secret History and my oh my.
Just to clear up a few things. I love this set. It is a departure from what I usually do and I enjoy that. And it's a different art style with Tom Rickert and I enjoy that change of pace also.
Sarsaparilla is just pure fun harkening back to innocent times in America of simplicity and not taking things too seriously. The fact is we need much more of that these days.
That it's not for everyone is fine with me, I respect that. But I just want people to know that I dig the concept of Secret History and there may be more coming in the future with a different theme.
So for those who are going to enjoy this set, that's great! I will incorporate a couple cards in my fed.
And I am busy working on the next GWF set which will have quite a few surprises and a new era dawning. It's coming along great!
I've been creating and writing COTG nonstop for close to 40 years and I am closer in age to 70 than 25 or 30. But I still love it as much as the first edition. And I couldn't be any more thankful that loyal promoters still give me an audience for my creative work. Thank you a ton for that.
I hope you enjoy Secret History and if you don't that's okay. But it's been a fun left turn for me and I know I will enjoy it.
Thank you again for simply being here. And keep those dice hot!

I'm not opposed to an occasional WWF New Generation gimmick in the GWF. I liked the early incarnation of Brainstorm as a dweeb who could spice up your undercard, and who stood as a contrast to the big galaxy-sized superheros and villains of most of the roster.
But...I think this gimmick would be a little more accepted if the reception to the earlier characters were better.
Strictly as a piece of art, ignoring the context that this is a professional wrestler, I like it more than some of the earlier pieces in this set.

I don't mind the character itself for what it is. I just think the art is awful. And I'm not judging this set overall negatively - it is what it is, I bought it, I'll use a couple of the cards I'm sure. Can certainly see why some have no use for it. Credit to Tom for posting his thoughts and taking the criticism head on.
