I had a list of 3 guys for the final name. Hunter Drake was one of them. This is the best "Best of" set yet.

New South is one of my personal favorite feds on IWTV and Hunter Drake (who won last year's Heart of the Southern Sixteen tournament and who also makes many GCW and JCW appearances) has held the New South Championship since last August (although I heard he recently dropped the title a couple of weeks ago but if so then Cagematch has no record of it yet.)
Unless I am mistaken, Hunter Drake is the boyfriend of the current NWA World Womens Champion Kenzie Paige and as "The Heartbreak Carnie" he often teams up with the Carnies and they won this year's Freebird Cup (a 6-man tag tournament in New South.)
Back in January, I sent Hunter Drake the card art of Kenzie Paige and The Carnies and I asked him about being in the game and he quickly responded with yes and he then Emailed me the signed release form. I was really glad to get Hunter Drake signed for the game and I will be putting him in my Vegas South and VCW feds.

Come on Sinestro don't be stealing my lines (joking) but I haven't heard of him. Saying all this ,I put in Indie wrestling on youtube and watch various shows/matches. 1-5 of passed signed wrestlers might of been on any show, I just never realised.

First seen Hunter Drake on South East First Uncharted Territory with Kenzie Paige and Nick Iggy. Was a really good heel and solid in the ring.
As previously said this may be the best "best of" set so far in my opinion, fantastic talent top to bottom

You guys are very knowledgeable of the Indie scene and big time supporters of the Indie brand, so I am very glad to see you guys like these names. The annual Best of set for the Indies to me is a big deal and I really wanted to make it the best set possible based on who is signed as I got to play a big role in this year's roster selection. I also hope you and everyone else here likes the 3 great Indie Promoter Prime Cycle 1 names getting announced soon and these will be 3 names who I really think everyone will know. more great Indie talent coming soon too in future cycles including someone recently from WWE who I signed last month online the day before I had my two surgeries |

Excited to find out who the Prime names are for the first cycle. The Best Of sets do a great job of representing the indies, but I think this one is absolutely my favourite so far and does give a really good spread of names.
Hunter comes at a really good time for me as well, as I was just considering what I do with The Carnies next in one of my feds and him arriving has given me some good ideas!

I wonder if there will be a second IWTV set this year. That would be great Well there are and will continue to be many IWTV wrestlers released in other Indie sets. For example, almost half (3 of 8 cards) of this upcoming Best of the Indies 2024 set includes regular IWTV talent including recent IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion Alec Price as well as Hoodfoot and Hunter Drake. I also tried to get the current and 2-time IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion Krule for this upcoming set, but he did not return my messages either via Email, Facebook, or the one I typed up that was sent through Filsinger Games Instagram. I am hoping I will get to talk to Krule though next week when I go to Major League Wrestling in Tampa Bay. Regarding upcoming sets, I have been in talks with Tom and Todd and the theme for the Indies set in Cycle 2 has been finalized and I am currently working on selecting the pictures to use for the card art in regards to the wrestlers and the background images. Although I have made some card art suggestions before for some Indie cards, this is my first time doing the entire card art selection process (Todd is teaching me how to do it.) |
