With lots of changes that have come to this new hot federation GEW, the fed has produced intense combat action and entertaining spectacle at the same time. This night is no different, on tonight's card Jim Cornette comes out to announce the matches on tap for this episode of GEW. The opener sees "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen in a one on one battle against John Moxley. Accompanying Steen is the highly well respected manager that has come to GEW to help him climb the ladder so to speak, and this man is the one and only Paul Heyman! Next, the other match is between Lio Rush and Newly Crowned GEW U.S. Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF). Third, we've got a two out of three falls match between Finn Balor and Swerve Strickland and the winner gets a shot at the new GEW World Heavyweight Champion at Card #16. Next, we've got a No DQ match for the GEW World Tag Team Championships between The Young Bucks and The Legion Of Doom. Lastly, the main event is a Fatal Four Way Match for the GEW Championship between champion "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs CM Punk vs "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Without further ado, let's get this party started!
Kevin Steen w/ Paul Heyman vs John Moxley:
Steen gets the pinfall victory over Mox with the F-CINQ. Heyman proceeds to grab the mic, and challenge Cornette to get in the ring with the cold blood killer Steen. Cornette responds with his racket in hand, ready to beat Heyman to a pulp. But, once Cornette reached the ring Steen and Heyman left the ring by jumping over the barricade flipping off the crowd and Cornette as well. Boo's reign down on the partnership of Steen and Heyman as a result from the Idaho faithful.
Lio Rush vs MJF (c) (Non-Title Match):
Rush beats the new U.S. champ in a grueling fight. He hits MJF with two consecutive RUSH HOUR maneuvers. Rush gets the pinfall and is overjoyed at the win, as well as the crowd. He gestures to the crowd a championship belt around his waist, hoping that he will get some wins strung together in order to win a GEW title. MJF looks to shake Rush's hand in respect, while going for his hand he then kicks Rush in the groin. MJF looks to get a pair of brass knuckles from GEW superstar Jay Lethal, then hits Rush in the jaw with the knucks. Max and Lethal laugh at the undersized competitor after the match, looking to inflict more pain. But, the "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson comes to the aid of Rush causing MJF and Lethal to squirm out of the ring running up to the entrance. MJF points at Danielson, and says that he's going to have a longer title reign than his less than impressive GEW World Title reign. Danielson laughs, not taking Max seriously then insulting him by saying that at least he is a fighting champion as opposed to Max.
Two out of Three Falls Match: Swerve Strickland vs Finn Balor
This awesome match between these two premier athletes, saw Balor win the first fall due to Swerve hitting him with a steel chair getting disqualified in the process (he lost the first fall). The 2nd fall saw Balor hit the COUP DE GRACE on Strickland to pickup the 2nd fall, and the victory giving him a shot against El Generico at Card #16.
GEW Tag Team Championship No DQ Match: The Young Bucks (c) vs The Legion of Doom
This 5 star classic between these two fantastic teams, was one for the ages. First, Hawk hits the DOOMSDAY DEVICE which Matt Jackson breaks up the pin on his brother Nick. Then Nick, hits MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK on Animal then Hawk breaks up the pin attempt. Nick hits the INDYTAKER on Hawk, which then Animal breaks up the pin on Hawk. Finally, Matt hits the MELTZER DRIVER on Animal which they get the pinfall victory on the challengers and successfully retain their precious GEW World Tag Team Championships.
The Young Bucks then get interviewed after their major win over The Legion of Doom by Ian Riccaboni. They respond to Riccaboni's question saying that this inbred cesspool of Idaho fans didn't deserve to see the gifts and talents of The Young Bucks. They call out any other tag team that thinks they have what it takes to be World Tag Team Championship Material.
GEW Championship Fatal Four Way Match: "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels w/ The Ministry vs "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega vs CM Punk vs The "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson
Kenny Omega wins the GEW Championship! Early on, Omega was on a roll hitting Punk with the ONE WINGED ANGEL then getting thwarted by Kevin Sullivan distracting the referee. With the distraction, Daniels used it to cover Omega for the pin then he kicks out at 2. Danielson gets involved by hitting a suicide dive at Hanson and Rowe. With all the chaos happening, Danielson rolls back into the ring and Omega hits Danielson with the SPRAY CAN while the ref wasn't looking then into the V-TRIGGER for the victory. Celebration begins with Omega running away with the title, and being joined at the entrance by The Young Bucks. The Elite all draped in gold.
