It's crazy down here. 50,000 linemen were brought in to help restore power after the storm. Many are staying at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Rays where Zeke went to a game I believe, and they just reported that part of the roof was ripped off. Where I am it's non- stop rain with steady winds of 35-50. Higher speeds coming. I drove home from work and got worried about being stuck due to flooding on roads that I would not think would flood. I will post a video later from my apartment doorway that shows a waterfall I had when I got home lol.

Thank you. I'm home just listening to the howling wind. The storm should be gone by morning and for sure by the time I have to go back to work. One of the reasons I picked Lakeland over living near the coast was things like this.

Turns out there was no one staying at Tropicana Field. It was National Guard not linemen that had been stationed there but as luck would have it they moved to a different location earlier on Wednesday. No injuries from the roof being ripped off.

My brother is a lineman. He's in Orlando right after leaving North Carolina. I was frustrated they sent linemen in before the hurricane. Let it pass. They had the lineman right in from of the hurricane just sleeping in their trucks.
Linemen never get the credit they deserve.

Good to hear about the Tropicana Field. My other friend in Florida is also away from where the worst stuff is hitting but I hope for both of you and the rest that this will be over soon.

They had the lineman right in from of the hurricane just sleeping in their trucks. Linemen never get the credit they deserve. It is a tough call. They cannot get working till it is safe but if they wait to leave till it is safe they lose time on the road. Especially depending on how far they come from. It is a tough job and you are right, they do not get the credit or respect they deserve. I try to. We had some staying with us during last storm and I think some this one. I try and tell them to stay safe.
