WWE have started announcing their WWE ID talent. The program will provide support in various areas to selected indies wrestlers to help them further their career and perhaps progress to the WWE at some stage. This is a new recruitment program, which runs alongside their NIL work and recruitment of college talent. There has been plenty of discussion within the indies about what this may mean. Here in the UK, we saw the damage WWE can do to your indies scene when they launched NXT UK. Having signed up almost all the top talent, it got to a stage where they could only work agreed indies outside of NXT UK work, there was restrictions on who they could lose against, and Progress and ICW in particular are still feeling the effects now of having been a more official partner, as this drove away some of the fanbase. Within the first names announced is a Filsinger indies card holder - one Mr Jack Cartwheel! I wasn't surprised when Zayda Steel was the first name announced, she has been really impressive of late and there was reports a while back about WWE being interested in her. Bryce Donovan has been doing great work with Beyond and has really benefitted from their weekly Thursday night live show Wrestling Open. And Sean Legacy is another interesting one. He comes over to Europe somewhat regularly for short stints, he has recently been in Germany and had a tour with NOAH in Japan.

I guess like most things it will have its pros and cons. If it helps talent live their dream of being a professional wrestler while making a decent living that is cool.

in addition to Jack Cartwheel, there is at least 1 name (not necessarily among thiose listed here) who has received a WWE ID who has signed the Filsinger Games release form, I am hoping to get their card released early next year

The latest people to be signed to the WWE ID program are Marcus Mathers and Sam Holloway Given Zeke's hint, I very much hope it is Mathers who has signed a form. He is high on my list of wishes for the indies line. Saw him live at Progress on All In weekend, he had an awesome match with Leon Slater. Holloway is younger than he perhaps looks in that photo, and is an absolute giant. He's one of the few people who can go nose to nose with Krule on the indies. They had a decent match at Expect the Unexpected's Marcus Mathers' All I want 3 earlier in the year for the IWTV World Title.

I reckon there is a more than decent chance Richard Holliday may be one of the next set of names announced for the WWE ID program, based on a tweet today about a show he is on this weekend. They will also be adding someone from Wrestling Open on Thursday night and some from Memphis Wrestling on Sunday

Didn't they sign Evander Holyfield's son? He has just signed! Not through the ID program, but he was in a photo for the latest NXT class recently. It will be interesting to see whether they keep the Holyfield name for him
