For all my feds COTG/LOW I've started using this cycle that I like a lot....
5 month cycle
Month 1 - 2 TV shows (7 matches on each card) Month 2 - 2 TV shows (7 matches on each card) Month 3 - 1 PPV/SUPERCARD (12 matches)
Then the cycle begins again.
- Non-title matches happen on the TV shows. - Title matches happen on the PPV.
Kind of gives it that old school wwf feel where there wasn't a PPV every month. Equals to 20 cards a year. This works well for GWF and I run such a stripped down LOW fed (only old school wwf guys) it gives everyone a chance to wrestle.

An interesting thread. Wouldn't mind trying something like this down the road myself. I always have a hard time "ranking" guys, and this would give a clear alternative to that. I thought of a couple possible additions to it, not sure if they would work or not........
Battle Royal Eliminate an opponent: 1/2 point (total points rounded down to nearest round #)
Winning the Battle Royal: 4 points.
If 2 or more points are earned during the match, the wrestler gets to keep those points. If under 2 points are earned, the wrestler earns a -2 for the match. This way if a wrestler puts on a spectacular performance, i.e. eliminating 5 guys but still not winning, they are still looked on positively for the performance. And winning a battle royal would thrust them up the rankings toward a title shot at the next PPV, but also would take in consideration their performance throughout the month.
Triple Threat Match (assume its vs 3 ranked wrestlers)
4 points for winning the match 0 points for losing match but not being the one that was pinned/submitted etc. -2 for losing match by taking the losing fall.
Would maybe help out the guy that didn't actually "lose" the match some in the rankings.
Also on the booking the house shows. I thought maybe it would be fun to along with the commissioner's card to be added to have the possibility of other non-wrestling cards be used to spice up the action some.......like this for example:
Roll 1D6 for results 1-4: Add Commissioner Cox to the deck only. 5: Add Bill Apter and Cox to the deck. 6: Add Gary Michael Cappetta/Louden Noxious and Cox to the deck (depending on fed style).
Just a few ideas.

For my Memphis fed, things are a little different. I have two big shows: one a PPV and one a Saturday Night Main Event sort of show. . Man, for my Memphis fed, well, I actually do it real time. The guys are on the road every day, etc. I'm actually tinkering with the notion of doing how much house show biz the show did, how much the guys got paid, etc. I'm still looking at ways to do it...

I think that's awesome. It sounds like a lot of effort but rewarding. Let us know if you figure out a good way to model the financial side of things. My feds run on seasons. Like a football or basketball style season. Or a regular TV show. Each year the main fed (LWF) gets 24 "shows" in a season. That amounts to about 8-9 PPVs. And the rest are TV tapings. The LOTF runs for a 12 week season. Initially, Memphis was going to be a 12 week season but I just kicked it off in an online fed. So it will be going at least 8 months out of the year. Meaning I may scale it back some. At the current pace it will easily become the only fed I'm running. And I do miss my LWF and was looking forward to kicking off the new season of the LOTF.

Graymar came up with an excellent system called the business model I think its posted on the COTG Legends group if not ask him about it

HAVOC'S BOOKINGA federation has a ranking ladder of 10 contenders for the world title. The tag roster has a ladder of 5 contenders for the title. There is no ranking ladder for a junior title, such as an Intercontinental, United States or similar secondary belt, unless the title is of a nature -- like a Cruiserweight title -- that would require it. In the event that a Junior Title needs a ranking ladder, give it a ladder of 5 contenders and treat it similarly to how the rankings for tag-teams are treated (see below). Question...how do you do your initial rankings? I like this idea and am thinking of implementing it.
