My theory: Release the core wrestlers at the beginning... then every month or so, release one or two more wrestlers as they enter the fed. That way as a player, assuming this is a 'New Beginnings' kind of restart, you'll have your wrestlers from the previous aCe sets, but then you'll have a staggered release of new wrestlers so that you don't have a flood of new wrestlers to figure out what to do with right off of the bat. Combine that with a short story/interview with the new wrestler coming in or just a plain old storyline update, it could heighten the dramatics of the fed.

I have a question for Osk-though I am sure it has been answered already. Will aCe 2122 be the name of th next editon oir sionce it is a brand new aCE will there be a brand new Launch to it-like the relaunch they did for the GWF? also, will it be pure online or will it be like the last editon that was done both ways? The next set will be titled aCe: all Centra entertainment. See the next reply to this thread as to why it's not getting a year/date attached to it... aCe:all Centra entertainment will be packaged and presented as a 'New Beginning' type of fed. What I mean is that each character involved, whether brand new or older will have a new card back (due to slight tweaks, character progression, change of special abilities, etc). And the edition will be featured Online as well as in printable format. That's actually something that we ALWAYS plan on doing for "exclusive" Online sets (like aCe and POW). ~ :-Xsk

Actually, there's been no schedule determined, and most likely, it won't be a set amount of months between these staggered "insert editions," but generally speaking, what you've said is the concept I've got in mind for the aCe. An "insert edition" might feature a new stable of characters who bring with them a storyline, or a major angle for existing characters. It will almost always include a new character or two and update current characters. Again, with Online, the possibilities are endless here. Details on this process are far from worked out...after all, I'm still working on the current aCe set. But as they're fleshed out they'll be plenty more to say. ~ :-Xsk

So...
Will each insert edition be purchased seperately? Or will you buy the all-Centra entertainment edition and then automatically receive the other editions?
This is actually a really good idea, but it will alter how I play my feds. I'm very "encrusted" into the GWF ideal of years having a definite begin - definite middle - definite end.

Well being that the insert editions would have a new booklet (however long or short) and new cards (however many with new drawings, new colorings, or new mechanics), they'd have to be purchased seperately. There'd just be now way to predict this far in advance what would be included in each insert edition... However, being that these would be much smaller (in terms of content and therefor production costs), the price of these inserts would probably be heavily reduced as compared to standard game editions. Also, to keep things organized, there would have to be some sort of linear timeline to these inserts. But like Tom and I have discussed, the whole process will be very free-flowing...and spreaking strictly as a "creator" now, I'd most likely put together these inserts based on Promoter voting, participation, suggestions, hot storylines, characters that are over with the gaming audience, etc... That being said, it would limit the quality of the inserts to plot them all out ahead of time. They'd be best to sort of spring up when necessary or when in-demand. ~ :-Xsk

Interesting idea, lets certain ideas spring up faster allowing turns in the middle of a year. It will be interesting to see how it works.

That's a really awesome concept, Kris. I think one of the best uses ever of the Promoter was the P3 release before Disaster came out. It allowed promoters to use him a few months before his Cleansing and let us establish a storyline with a character like never before. I always brought in the new characters and revisions from a new set over the course of the year, instead of having them debut all at once like some promoters do. This release schedule supports that, by giving promoters continuous storyline additions throughout the calendar year.
I'm really looking forward to see how this turns out!

I'm interested in seeing how this is going to play out as well.

I'm interested in seeing how this is going to play out as well. I think it's an interesting idea, but if your subscription to Online lapses will you still be able to buy the 'insert editions' and print them out? And while I know they'll be cheaper than regular sets, but will it be cheaper than just releasing them all in one set? I'd be worried that I'm paying more to get the whole story and set, or it seeming like I'm paying for a overall subscription, and a 'monthly/bimonthly' subscription to get everything I need to run the aCe......Hope that makes sense

There will always be the option to print off aCe cards...as a matter of fact, there are plenty of people who've purchased POW and aCe editions who DON'T subscribe to COTGonline.
They own these cards for good. There's no need to log-in to access these sets once they're downloaded and saved to your hard drive.
Remember, when purchasing an "online edition" you get access to the digital cards AND the downloadable versions.
As for comparing costs it's all relative really, as it will all be based on the content included within the edition.
