I cut this card into two in the hopes that if someone reads this then they don't get brain cramps. ;D Will post the second half within the next day or so...
Air Canada Center Toronto, ON Canada Card #1A (March 15th, 2008)
The Canadian National Anthem played over the arena’s sound system as the newest addition to the National Wrestling Alliance’s (the Great White North Promotions) historical event to crown the first ever Canadian Heavyweight Champion was about to begin! On March 5th, the brackets were randomly paired for the sixteen individuals that are vying for the eight pounds of gold! In addition to the sixteen competitors that are in the ring, the preliminary round of the Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament will spotlight four teams trying to qualify for the next round. Without further adieu, here a recap of this historical card:
GWN Canadian Championship Tournament: First Round:
“Canadian Crippler” Chris Benoit versus “Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff: The noise in the arena became almost deafening as Benoit made his way to the ring and crawled into the squared circle. This match was entirely controlled by the Canadian crippler as Nikita looked like he had a case of ring rust and Benoit ended the bout after a Northern Lights Suplex and DRAGON SUPLEX combo. Winner: Chris Benoit (*).
John Cena versus Rick Rude: This match started off with Rude dominating the controversial hero and had Cena on the proverbial ropes with a RUDE AWAKENING! However, the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ kicked out of the pin attempt and landed a flurry of moves to top it off with a F.U. for the comeback win. Winner: John Cena (** ½).
Jeff Hardy versus Montell Vontavious Porter (MVP): These two combatants used mostly mat styled technical wrestling and neither gained the upper hand until MVP used a cheap shot to bring down the Hardy Boy! Montell continued to use illegal tactics and even used the ropes to try and choke out his opponent! After three straight running big boots, the MVP covered the spent body of his opposition and garnered the pinfall. Winner: Montell Vontavius Porter (***).
Rey Mysterio versus “The Samoan Bulldozer” Umaga: Wow! The first upset of the tournament as Rey Mysterio used his quickness to keep out of arms reach from Umaga! Mysterio used several high flying maneuvers that nearly had the big Samoan put away but Mysterio used his finisher set up sequence with the dropping a dime! The arena roared its approval and became ecstatic as Mysterio put away Umaga with the 6-1-9 for the duke. Winner: Rey Mysterio (* ½).
“Rated ‘R’ Superstar” Edge versus “The War machine” Rhino: This match was littered with illegal antics as both combatants didn’t hold back and Rhino was covered in crimson as Edge tossed the War Machine into the steel ring steps! Edge became over confident and Rhino fooled him into getting too close before ending the match with a GORE! Winner: Rhino (** ½).
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles versus John Morrison: AJ Styles didn’t look so phenomenal and actually looked pathetic as John Morrison simply out maneuvered the Georgia borne wrestler! John Morrison pushed around Styles with a slingshot elbow drop, a tilt-a-whirl/Russian leg sweep, and a CORKSCREW NECKBREAKER to advance to the second round. Winner: John Morrison (* ½).
Kurt Angle versus Owen Hart: The Canadian native received a chorus of cheers from the fans but Kurt Angle reception was louder with the fans montage of jeers and pelting the Olympic gold medalist with garbage. The match surprisingly was quick as Angle sensed that he had to get out of hostile territory quickly and would stun Owen with the OLYMPIC SLAM and make the Canadian star tap out with the ANKLE LOCK. Winner: Kurt Angle (½ *).
Rellik versus “Canadian Muscle” Petey Williams: This match was also a quick one as Petey Williams seemed too involved with his flexing than the very dangerous psychopath! Rellik used a Spinning Heel Kick and spewed the Demon Mist into the eyes of Williams as the masked daemon advanced to meet Angle in the second round. Winner: Rellik (½ *).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: Preliminary Match:
Midnight Express versus World’s Greatest Tag Team: The first team match in the GWN was kind of sad as the team of Benjamin and Haas made a mockery out of one of the best tag teams in wrestling history. After Shelton clamped on a T-BONE SUPLEX to Bobby Eaton and failed to get the pinfall, he tagged out to Haas for the Oklahoman to use a GERMAN SUPLEX to qualify his team for the first round. Winner: World’s Greatest Tag Team ( ½ *).

Coolio...here is the second part of the Canadian Championship Tournament! Stayed tuned for the GWN's televised week card "Thursday Night Takedown" coming later this week to determine the GWN Canadian Tag Team Champions and a rematch between the finalists of the Canadian tournament. Sorry about no commentary but wanted to start off the fed with a champion before I decided the announcing team...let me know what ya think. Later, TK.
Air Canada Center Toronto, ON Canada Card #1B (March 15th, 2008)
After a short recess, the tournament continued…
Canadian Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Second Round:
“Canadian Crippler” Chris Benoit versus John Cena: Once again, the Canadian fans voiced their approval of Benoit as he entered the ring and the opponent met with his usual response of mixed cheers and jeers. This match was pretty much owned by the American after Benoit went to the top of the turnbuckle to attempt a flying head butt and Cena knocked him down to the floor with a dropkick! Cena moved in for the kill and hooked on the STFU that almost won him the match but Benoit was able to reach the ropes. Only moments later, Benoit attempted to counter a Death Valley Driver by Cena with a German suplex but the “Doctor of Thuganomics” countered Benoit with the F.U. to end the match! Winner: John Cena (*).
Montell Vontavius Porter (MVP) versus Rey Mysterio: This second round bout was totally dominated by MVP as the Miami native quickly used his power to his advantage. Rey Mysterio attempted his finisher’s set up move with Dropping the Dime but MVP scouted his opponent and rolled out to the ringside floor. Rey Mysterio wanted the momentum to stay in his favor and went for a topa suicida but MVP moved out of the way! MVP crawled back into the squared circle and waited for his opponent to come back into the ring! After Rey managed back into the ring, MVP landed FOUR consecutive running big boots before locking on THE PLAYMAKER for the duke. Winner: Montell Vontavius Porter (** ½).
John Morrison versus “The War Machine” Rhino: A wild brawl! Rhino and Morrison traded blows for nearly twenty minutes before anyone of these combatants gained the upper hand! Rhino would throw Morrison into the turnbuckle and went for a running clothesline but the referee stepped in the way and was clobbered! Morrison attempted to revive the referee and when Morrison turned around noticed Rhino trying to use the GORE! shoulder block! Morrison sidestepped the charging Rhino and countered the move with a CORKSCREW NECKBREAKER for the three count. Winner: John Morrison (**).
Kurt Angle versus Rellik: Wow! Easily the biggest upset of the tournament as the daemon manhandled the Olympic Gold medalist! Angle could not get a move in offensive wise and after a GENOCIDE DRIVER was pinned without Rellik even breaking a sweat. Winner: Rellik ( *).
GWN Canadian Championship Tournament: Semi-Finals:
John Cena versus Montell Vontavius Porter (MVP): A great bout! MVP used mat wrestling to get passed the brawling style of John Cena and for awhile seemed like his plan was going to work. After THE PLAYMAKER that nearly garnered the three count, a frustrated MVP tossed Cena into the ropes and went for a spine buster. Unfortunately for him, Cena saw the move coming and countered with a spinning back suplex and a F.U. to put Montell’s shoulders down for the three count. Winner: John Cena (** ½).
John Morrison versus Rellik: The daemon’s run of upsets has ended! As Morrison used his quickness to counter almost everything that Rellik tried to do. Rellik would gain a little offense after Morrison missed a suicide dive to meet the ring floor and Rellik quickly tried to gain the upper hand with Demon Mist. However this was to no avail, Morrison would quickly regain the momentum with a slingshot elbow drop and would execute a perfect CORKSCREW NECKBREAKER to meet John Cena in the final round! Winner: John Morrison (*).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: Preliminary Match:
America’s Most Wanted versus The Outsiders: The match started off with Kevin Nash and Chris Harris and these two started off in fisticuffs until Harris gained momentum and put Nash down for a two count with a senton bomb! Nash rolled out of the ring and Harris went after him but met with a big boot across the head! Nash rolled Harris into the squared circle and used the JACKKNIFE POWERBOMB that should’ve one the match but Gail Kim climbed to the apron causing Nash to stop the pin attempt and gab at the AMW’s diva. Harris managed to tag out to James Storm during Kim’s distraction but would also get caught in the JACKKNIFE POWERBOMB for the pin. Winners: The Outsiders (*).
GWN Canadian Championship Tournament: Final Round:
John Cena versus John Morrison: Not much of a shock here! John Cena just rolled on John Morrison as Morrison tossed Cena out of the ring and started to climb through the ropes in hopes of gaining the upperhand. The referee stopped Morrison from climbing out onto the ring floor and the ref made pay for it as Cena landed a haymaker that sent Morrison sprawling onto the mat. Cena climbed backed into the squared circle and used the F.U. to become the first ever GWN Canadian Champion! Winner: John Cena (dud).
Rankings:
Canadian Champion: John Cena 1. John Morrison 2. Montell Vontavius Porter 3. RelliK 4. Chris Benoit 5. Rhino 6. Rey Mysterio 7. Kurt Angle 8. Rick Rude

Molson Centre Montreal, Quebec, Canada Card #2 (March 20th, 2008)
[glow=red,2,300]“Thursday Night Takedown”[/glow]
The Molson Centre arena lights up with the pyrotechnics and light display as everyone in the Quebec Province knew that this televised supercard would be a historical event. The GWN already has made its presence known in the NWA as the Olympic Gold Medalists himself captured the International Heritage title and currently is touring the territories! If everything goes the way Angle hopes, he should be returning on the 30th of March and taking challengers from this federation for the newest NWA Championship! Appearing on this card, Psicosis (from the NWA Heartland) brings the NWA World Junior X championship and will face Rey Mysterio in a non-title match up to determine if Rey gets a title shot at the World Junior strap.
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: First Round: The Hardy Boys versus Vicious & Delicious (Scott Norton/Buff Bagwell): What a great start to open up the card! The action spilled in and out of the squared circle as both teams gave one hundred percent. Norton nearly had Jeff Hardy after a missed SWANTON BOMB and Scott used a JURASSIC BREAKER but the high flyer rolled the big man up with a school boy roll up for the three count. Winner: Hardy Boys (****).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: First Round: The Motor City Machine Gunns versus The Russians: The ‘D-Town’ natives ran circles around the Koloffs and used several double team maneuvers to keep their opponent’s on their heels! Ivan complained to the referee that the match wasn’t being called fairly and this more than likely cost his team the match! Sabin used CRADLE SHOCK, tagged out to Shelley, and Shelley executed a textbook SHELLSHOCK to advance to the next round. Winner: Motor City Machine Gunns (* ½).
“Canadian Muscle” Petey Williams versus Rick Rude: The Ravishing One easily put away Williams who seemed to be more interested in posing than wrestling! After a swinging neckbreaker, Williams received a RUDE AWAKENING and another mark in the loss column. Winner: Rick Rude (*).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: First Round: The Radicals versus World’s Greatest Tag Team: This match up had a lot of ‘hot tags’ as both teams seemed to know the exact location of their partners. In the closing moments, the radicals used a double underhook powerbomb and a Saturn Sault to have Perry pin Haas and have the Radicals face the Hardy Boys in the final four. Winners: the radicals (**).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: First Round: LAX versus The Outsiders: The Latino American Exchange pulverized the veterans and both of the Outsiders were covered in crimson by the final bell! Sadly for LAX, Homicide was furious after the official continuously cautioned him from hair pulling, choking Hall, etc. and simply punched the referee square in the mouth causing his team to be disqualified. Winner: The Outsiders (***).
NWA World Junior X Championship Non-titlematch: Rey Mysterio versus Psicosis (ch): The World Junior X champion, Psicosis, did not look like he was prepared for this match as the GWN challenger put his shoulders to the mat after only two minutes with a West Coast Pop and a 6-1-9 combo! The next stop for Mysterio will be a possible Junior X title match in the near future. Winner: Rey Mysterio (dud).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: Second Round: Hardy Boys versus The Radicals: The opening pairing of the second round was another quick contest! At the six minutes mark, Jeff climbed to the top of the turnbuckle and landed a SWANTON BOMB that was an awesome sight to behold onto Perry Saturn! However Malenko crawled through the ropes to make the save and a wild brawl shortly ensued between the four match participants. While the referee was attempting to regain some resemblance of order, the Montreal fans cheered as Chris Benoit hurried to ringside and whacked Matt Hardy over the noggin with a steel chair that rendered Matt unconscious! Just as quick that Benoit showed up, the ‘rabid wolverine’ was gone and so was the Hardy Boy’s chances of winning the tournament as Malenko covered Matt to advance to the final round. Winner: The Radicals (**).
[glow=red,2,300]**Special Challenge Match**[/glow] TLC Match: ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge versus ‘The War Machine’ Rhino: These two superstars last faced one another in the first round of the GWN Canadian Championship Tournament in which Rhino raised his arm in victory after a vicious GORE on Edge! Edge complained afterwards that he was robbed by ‘The War Machine’ because Rhino had been cheating throughout the match. Rhino insister that he could easily beat Edge in whatever match that Edge could convince the CEO of the company to put the two in and foolishly Rhino signed a blank contract! When Edge signed the contract that Rhino earlier had also put his John Hancock on, he announced that the two would face off against one another in a TLC match but with one stipulation that if Rhino loses he is fired from the GWN! This contest simply was freaking awesome; and although it is only the second card of this fledgling federation, has to be considered for the match of the year in the NWA federation. Both men gave the other a beat down with tables…ladders…and you guessed it-chairs! After the two aligned two ladders next two one another, they scrambled to the top but Rhino went for a chance to end the match with a GORE but Edge anticipated the move and countered with a SPEAR!!! After nearly a half hour, the battered and bloodied ‘Rated R Superstar’ reached up and not only grabbed the contract but ended Rhino’s career in the Great White North. Winner: Edge (****).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: Second Round: Motor City Machine Gunns versus The Outsiders: A lousy match! Scott Hall and Shelley began the match with Hall attempting a discus punch but Shelley was too agile for the wise guy and countered with a super kick. Shelley covered Hall for the pin and garnered the three count. Pitiful! Winner: Motor City Machine Gunns (dud).
[glow=red,2,300]GWN Canadian Championship Title Rematch:[/glow]
John Cena (ch) versus John Morrison: ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ once again proved that the champ is here to stay as he pushed around Morrison without breaking a sweat. Cena used a flying shoulder tackle, a five knuckle shuffle, and put down Morrison with a F.U. maneuver to retain the Canadian Championship. Winner: John Cena (**).
GWN Canadian Tag Team Championship Tournament: Final Round: Motor City Machine Gunns versus The Radicals: Malenko and Saturn just outclassed their opponents and would make them look like amateurs after the Radicals used TOTAL ELIMINATION and Malenko would make Sabin tap with the TEXAS CLOVERLEAF submission for the Radicals to become the first ever GWN Canadian tag Team champions! The Montreal fans once again erupted in applause and the Radicals were met with a Benoit embrace! ‘The Canadian Crippler’ grabbed the ringside microphone and stated there has been noise from the sheep loving NWA Heartland wrestlers that the GWN sucks! Benoit warned everyone to shut their holes before the radicals stick their foot in it! Benoit looked at the camera and calmly spoke that the Radicals have one more member that will add the missing piece to the puzzle and then he made the infamous slash across the throat gesture he has become known for. He slammed the mic to the mat and left the ringside area with the new Canadian tag Team champions! Winner: Radicals (½ *).
Rankings: Canadian Champion: John Cena 1. Montell Vontavius Porter 2. RelliK 3. John Morrison 4. Chris Benoit 6. Rick Rude 7. Edge 8. ‘Canadian Muscle’ Petey Williams
Canadian Tag Team Champions: Radicals 1. Motor City Machine Gunns 2. Hardy Boys 3. The Outsiders 4. World's Greatest tag Team 5. The Russians
Touring: Kurt Angle (International Heritage) Released: Rhino

Calgary, Alberta, Canada Card#3 (March 26th, 2008)
[glow=red,2,300]“In a Maple Leaf Minute…”[/glow]
“My name is Marc Trop Parler and on behalf of the Great White North welcome to the first installment of “In a Maple Leaf Minute…” Unlike the previous two televised events, this broadcast is to let fans know what transpired during cards that occured in smaller arenas that were not shown to the GWN’s viewers. The editorial staff feels that everyone that is a fan should know the events that transpire in these house shows whether you live in the Northwestern Territories or in New Foundland! So fans, buckle your seatbelt and here is the major events from the house show in Calgary, Alberta”
• In a battle of the GWN’s monsters, Rellik used the GENOCIDE DRIVER to bludgeon ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga into unconsciousness (**).
• The current #1 contender for the GWN Canadian Championship suffered a set back as Montell Vontavius Porter was simply outwrestled by Owen Hart! The Canadian native locked on the submission finisher SHARPSHOOTER for what seemed like an eternity for MVP before he couldn’t take it anymore and tapped out! (**).
• On the 20th of March, “Canadian Muscle” Petey Williams lost to Rick Rude and was livid! During a segway on this house show, Williams called Rude’s physique unattractive and challenged Rude to a pose down on the next “Thursday Night Takedown”. There has not been a response as of yet from the ‘Ravishing One’.
• The Midnight Express had an easy win over the Gail Kim-less America’s Most Wanted after Stan Lane covered Chris Harris immediately following a VEG-O-MATIC tag team finisher!(dud).
• In a World Junior X championship title match, Psicosis retained the gold after a slingshot plancha that put Rey Mysterio in prime position for the DIVING GUILLOTINE LEGDROP. (**).
• After Benoit blasted Matt Hardy with a steel chair to assist The Radicals moving on to the next round of the Canadian Tag Tournament. Matt Hardy executed a TWIST OF FATE that would’ve pinned ‘The Canadian Crippler’ but The Radicals stormed the ring and assaulted him. This interference caused Matt Hardy to be injured for 4 cards and less importantly a disqualification victory.
• A promo video lit up the arena’s vidscreens with the phrase-“The walls of Jericho coming soon to an arena near you!”
• The Canadian Tag Team Championship rematch took place but the Motor City Machine Gunns would not become champions just yet after the Radicals decided to leave ringside when the going got a little too rough for them.
“I guess that the GWN Commissioner has a lot of things to think about before not too long and I am almost positive that the Radicals are not going to be happy about his decision. Plus, we are hoping that Rude answers Petey Williams’s challenge of a pose down because in my opinion Williams is not going to be the favorite on this one. That about wraps things up this time around but hopefully you will join us next time around!”
