Cruisergate
(presented by Minor League Wrestling as a Bragging Rights challenge to Major League Wrestling)
Thursday December 31, 2009
Silver Nugget Casino
Las Vegas, NV
(Final Third of the show, First Third and Second Third are both posted above)
Match #10: Jushin Liger of Major League Wrestling defeated Mike Quackenbush of Minor League Wrestling
- A great match that saw the offense repeatedly switch back and forth until Liger got the win via his FISHERMAN'S BUSTER.
- With this victory, Major League Wrestling has cut tonight's deficit to 6-4.
Match #11: MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) of Major League Wrestling defeated Minor League Wrestling Tag Team Champions the Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black, both accompanied by Daizee Haze) of Minor League Wrestling.
- This match between these two different tag team champions was so awesome the TV announcers mentioned that it at the very least will likely be mentioned as a Match of the Year finalist for Minor League Wrestling!
- The Fabulous Kangaroos entered tonight with their current championship reign lasting 15 straight months, but the Age of the Fall arguably gave them more trouble tonight most of their recent matches against challengers from the RAW brand of Major League Wrestling.
- Although the Age of the Fall came very close to winning, the Kangaroos got the victory when Al Costello pinned Black following a BOOMERANG.
- Afterward, the crowd gave both tag teams a standing ovation as the Kangaroos victory put Major League Wrestling 1 point away from tying the score which is now 6-5 in favor of Minor League Wrestling.
Match #12: Arik Cannon of Minor League Wrestling defeated Sabu of Major League Wrestling in a ladder match
- An extremely exciting match, Sabu looked like he had it won when he climbed to the top of the ladder and grabbed toward the metal rod. But Sabu accidentally knocked the rod down to the mat where a diving Cannon recovered it for the win.
(Promoter's note: this match ended on a roll of 2 using the official ladder match chart from the LOW Ringside Companion followed by an odd role on the chart that gave Cannon this victory).
Match #13, the main event: Minor League Wrestling Champion Delirious of Minor League Wrestling defeated Cruiserweight Champion Tiger Mask of Major League Wrestling.
- Yet another great match that even included a rarely seen Space Flying Tiger Drop from Tiger Mask!
(Promoter's Note: the Space Flying Tiger Drop resulted from a roll of 5 using Tiger Mask's official special out of the ring chart found on the back of the handbook for legends International).
- Tiger Mask was in control toward the end but the match concluded with Tiger Mask astonishingly missing a deathjump and Delirious then immediately applying CHEMICAL IMBALANCE #2 to get the win in front of this Minor League Wrestling show crowd!
- Final Score: Minor League Wrestling 8, Major League Wrestling 5.
- Afterward, as Delirious was getting his hand raised in victory, he was suddenly attacked from behind by Evolution (Adam Pearce, Steve Corino, Television Champion Claudio Castagnoli, and Brent Albright along with their manager Larry Sweeney).
- Pearce then reminded everyone that he has a title shot against Delirious that he won by defeating fellow former Minor League Wrestling Champion Mike Quackenbush on Minor League Wrestling's last card Bop Til You Drop and that he plans on cashing in this title shot against Delirious on Minor League Wrestling's January show!
- Then as Evolution got ready to punish Delirious some more, Chris Hero, who used to be part of Evolution, suddenly ran into the ring to make the save and slammed a steel chair hard against the head of his former tag team partner Castagnoli!
- As Hero checked on Delirious and Evolution grabbed Castagnoli and retreated toward the back, Cruisergate came to an end.
End of Show.
