POST SHOW NOTES:
- The Million Dollar Corp might be the tightest and strongest of the heel teams around. The addition of Hennig is a major coup and you can bet DiBiase will throw all his weight around to assure title shots individually and as a team. They’ll also be invoking the Freebirds’ rule so that any of the three men can compete under the banner of one name… They figure, if the midnight express can do, they can too. DiBiase’s group will be making waves with faces and heel alike it seems!
- Danny Hodge’s DQ win will go a long way to securing him a rematch for the Southern States title against Ray Stevens. He’ll follow doctor’s orders for now, though and be on the shelf for a little while. He hopes to make his comeback at the final show of the Dignity tour.
- Rude and Bundy’s victory will take them far. Heenan is itching to get them in the ring with the Road Warriors, but there are other teams in line. Still, these two will be seeing a lot of action on the tour.
- Yukon Eric’s win puts him on the map as a contender for the US title. Heenan, though, has Masked Superstar in line for it. These two might be battling for a shot the whole tour.
- Harley Race’s win puts him right in line for a shot at the title and with Bockwinkel’s win over an injured Gotch, he may get it before the former champ can have a rematch! The NWA board is thinking hard on this one.
- Red Berry is satisfied with the Kangaroos performance and the fans are shocked at Brody tapping, but there’s no denying the Flying Kangaroos are one of the best tag teams in the world. The Road Warriors may be seeing them by tours end!
- Bobo Brazil’s big win may position him in a good place to challenge for the title. Rogers, in the meantime, is looking for payback… Word is he may be looking for some help, Brazil better be ready and may need someone watching his back! Expect some crazy six man tag action to develop out of this as Brazil might have to bide his time for a title shot.
- Don Muraco is the US champion, still and he retained in strong fashion over a tough contender! Still, the Crusher has the fans and will be around to cause havoc. He may even be enlisting some help from an old tag partner, Red Bastien, and his current partner, Billy Lyons to take on Albano’s crew.
- The Road Warriors look incredibly strong after their amazing match with the Midnight Express. They’ll continue to take on all comers and probably be looking for a third to engage in some six-man action with their hated enemies. The Midnights may not have another title shot coming, but this war is far from over and Cornette will do whatever he can to get his boys another shot.
- Nick Bockwinkel is the new NWA champion and he and Bobby Heenan couldn’t be happier! Heenan manages a world champ and he intends on adding more gold to his family. Bockwinkel will be in action often on the tour but there’s question as to whether or not he may be trying to dodge contenders like Race and Brazil.
