Great American Ballpark, Cincinnati, Ohio The show opens with the tune, "Wings of Destiny" by Gamma Ray playing over the speaker system in the ballpark. The atmosphere is jumping as the Opening Day game has concluded and the ring crew is finishing the set-up. DAYTONDAVE and WARLORD are pumping up the crowd. Numerous Bundyheads are waving throughout the stands, and fans are batting Jessie McKay beachballs from section to section. Daytondave: Hey, fans! Welcome to
Dawn of Destiny 2017! Spring has come to the Buckeye State, baseball is back, and it's a great day for CHIKARA wrestling! The
King Of The Indies Championship, The
CHIKARA Grand Championship, and the
Money In The Bank Ladder Match are all set to go here tonight. Warlord, my man- welcome back to the world of the living! What are your thoughts on tonight's action?
Warlord: Did you get a Jessie McKay beach ball? Those babies are collector's items! A beach ball and a couple of Bundyheads are all you need for a backyard game of badminton!
Daytondave: The marketing genius never ends. I wonder how many beach balls that
CRUEFAN will end up with? Fans, we have a big show tonight, so-
Without warning, Daytondave is interrupted by the arrival of EDDIE KINGSTON and HOMICIDE. Daytondave: Gentlemen- happy Dawn of Destiny! What brings you here-
Kingston: Cut the crap, Daytondave. Do we look happy? Not on your life. But one thing we do have on our side is Destiny. That's why we're here. You're having a contenders' match for the Tag Team Titles?
Daytondave: The Campeonatos. Of course!
Homicide: The Campy-whatever. Why wasn't me and Eddie invited? We eliminated all the competition- we should be the contenders!
Daytondave: That's not how it works, Homicide.
THE COLONY and
LOS ICE CREAMS each have two points in official competition.
Kingston: Points? Competition? We don't know nuttin' about points. We just came to kick ass and grab some gold.
Daytondave: Do you want to be entered in the Tag Team Division? You are welcome to meet the other contenders, and work your way to a title shot.
Homicide: Oh, that's all we gotta do? Eddie- you never told me that. Where do we sign up?
Daytondave: See me after the show, gentlemen. Or, as the young people would say, "Cash me outside howbow dah?". Now, if you don't mind, we are ready to start the action. It's gonna be a great night here at
Dawn of Destiny 2017, fans- so relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!
CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas: #1 Contenders' MatchThe Colony vs. Los Ice CreamsThe Dawn of Destiny fireworks began before the match even started! The Colony were headed to the ring when they were attacked in the dugout by Kingston and Homicide! To the delight of the crowd, the Ants escaped the attack unharmed and made it to the ring for the match.
Daytondave: Those jerks!
Warlord: Scoundrels! Ruffians, I say!
The tag match was a tremendous battle with action everywhere! Having escaped the attack from Kingston and Homicide, the Colony hit the ring full of adrenaline and immediately took over on Junior. Both Ants controlled Junior for several minutes, and punished Junior with several nasty double-teams. After several near-falls, El Hijo finally made the desperation tag and battled both men. El Hijo got the best of Fire Ant, and Fire Ant was in trouble. But Fire Ant countered and manuvered El Hijo into a pinning predicament. Before the ref could make the three count,
EDDIE KINGSTON and
HOMICIDE returned to ringside, and Kingston pulled Fire Ant out of the ring! Kingston was about to nail Fire Ant, when out of nowhere,
BIG JIM, THE ENFORCER sprinted in from the dugout and took out Kingston with a running spear!
Warlord: What the- ? That's the guy who MADONNA was with last weekend!
Daytondave: That's Big Jim, and he is here to take care of business!
Led by Big Jim, Heartland Security took control of the situation and escorted Homicide and Kingston back to the dugout and away to the clubhouse. Action resumed in the ring, where Green Ant got the jump on Junior and pinned him with the Go 2 Sleepy Hollow!
WINNERS: GREEN ANT & FIRE ANTDaytondave: What a performance by the Colony! Those scrappy little Ants had to escape Kingston and Homicide- twice- and defeat Los Ice Creams! These guys have definitely earned their shot at the Campeonatos!
Warlord: And what a performance by Big Jim! My man has earned himself a night at the buffet table!
Daytondave: Lord help us all! Okay, everyone- this next match will definitely earn something for one of our competitors. Either
LARRY SWEENEY will get his prized green boa returned, or
JESSIE MCKAY will receive a shot at the
Heartland Ladies' Championship! This showdown has been a long time coming, and there are a lot of excited Bundyheads here tonight. Let's get it started!
Mixed Tag Team ChallengeLARRY SWEENEY & KIMBER LEE vs. KING KONG BUNDY & JESSIE MCKAYIt was a crazy match from the start, with Bundy and Sweeney pummeling each other and tagging out to the ladies only for rest breaks. The ladies tore into each other, and the action picked up when Kimber pitched Jessie out of the ring down to the field. Kimber picked up a handful of dirt from home plate and rubbed it in Jessie's eyes! Quickly, CRUEFAN sprinted in from the home dugout with a wet towel and cleared Jessie's vision. Meanwhile, Sweeney delivered a vicious low blow to Bundy, and Sweeney clobbered Bundy with a running knee smash! Bundy collapsed to the grass, and Sweeney took advantage of the situation to grab Jessie by the hair and pull her out of the ring. Kimber caught Jessie with an Irish Whip, sending Jessie careening into the visitors' dugout. Kimber followed Jessie into the dugout, where Kimber picked up a water cooler and emptied it over Jessie's head! Kimber deposited the cooler over Jessie's head, leaving the Aussie trapped and disoriented. Kimber returned to the ring, as the referee issued a ten count and Jessie was unable to find her way back.
WINNERS (VIA COUNTOUT): LARRY SWEENEY & KIMBER LEEAfter the decision, Sweeney retrieved his green boa from ringside and wrapped it around his neck. Sweeney strutted around the ring proudly as Kimber squealed with delight.Daytondave: Well- that's a shame for Jessie and Bundy.
Warlord: What can be said? Sweeney and Kimber took care of business tonight and they outsmarted Bundy and Jessie. Bundy is a fun-loving dude, but nobody ever said he was smart. It was fun while it lasted.
Warlord left his position at ringside and entered the ring. Sweeney looked for an escape, but Warlord offered a handshake, which Sweeney reluctantly accepted. Warlord pulled Sweeney into a massive bear hug and nearly squeezed the life out of him before releasing Sweeney to celebrate.Daytondave: All's well that ends well- and it appears that a good time was had by all. Now, fans- we take you to our first title match of the evening!
CHIKARA Trios ChampionshipTHE BATIRI (c) vs. THE THROWBACKSThe fast-paced action rolled on in the Trios match. Sugar D and Kodama tore up the ring for several minutes before Kodama nailed a Flying Blockbuster for a near fall. Obariyon followed with a Flying DDT which nearly put Sugar's lights out! Hatfield was quick to rescue his partner, but Kobald then drilled Hatfield with a spear and things were looking bad for the Throwbacks. Angelosetti was the last man standing, and he went to the outside to gather his football helmet. Angelosetti cleaned house, laying waste to Kobama and Kobald with the helmet. Unfortunately, this earned Mr. Touchdown the disqualification and the match was awarded to the Batiri.
WINNERS (via disqualification): THE BATIRI
THE BATIRI RETAIN THE CHIKARA TRIOS CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: A well-fought match by the Batiri! They had their teamwork going effectively tonight. Usually the referees will allow some leeway, but you can't win a championship in CHIKARA with the use of a foreign object.
Warlord: And you can't use a football helmet in a baseball stadium!
Daytondave: And now we know the real reason why Mr. Touchdown was disqualified. Okay, everyone- we have another championship match up next- can
DELIRIOUS continue his reign as CHIKARA Grand Champion?
CHIKARA Grand ChampionshipDELIRIOUS (c) vs. SEVENTEENA strange event marred the Grand Championship Match! As Seventeen was entering the ring, he was attacked at ringside by an unidentified individual dressed as Rosie Red!
Rosie came after Seventeen with a vengeance, picking up Seventeen and slamming him with a German Suplex onto the ring apron! Seventeen was clearly injured, and Delirious was quick to take advantage. Once the bell rang, Delirious maneuvered Seventeen into the Cobra Stretch, further weakening Seventeen's injured back. Seventeen reached the ropes, but as he was getting to his hands and knees, Delirious launched himself off the top turnbuckle with the Shadows Over Heck! Seventeen was nearly immobile after the blow, and Delirious quickly put him away with the Bizarro Driver.
DELIRIOUS RETAINS THE CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPWarlord: Crimeny! What just happened?
Daytondave: I have no idea! Usually it is GEKIDO who is pulling these sneak attacks. Did Delirious set that up?
Warlord: I doubt it. That dude is crazy, but I don't think that bringing in outside assistance is his style. This had to be an inside job.
Daytondave: There's no doubt that Seventeen has made his share of enemies in CHIKARA. But who would have access to the Rosie Red costume?
Warlord: It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
Daytondave: Without a doubt. But the end result is that Delirious retains the title, and the fans here at Great American Ballpark are delighted. As the champion celebrates, the ring is being set up for the annual Money In The Bank Ladder Match!
Money In The Bank Ladder MatchDELIRIOUS * NIGEL MCGUINNESS * EL GENERICOJAY LETHAL * CHRISTOPHER DANIELS * EDDIE KINGSTONThings started out with a bang for Kingston, who attacked Generico and immediately put him through a ringside table! Kingston looked for the ladder, but Daniels quickly intervened and caught Kingston by surprise with a wicked Enzuigiri. Quick as a flash, Lethal cracked Daniels with a steel chair which sent Daniels out of the ring!
Warlord: He got all of that one! Lethal is going for the ladder!
Lethal managed to get the ladder up, but McGuinness followed. As both men reached the top, Delirious knocked over the ladder, sending both Nigel and Lethal flying out of the ring and down to the grass! Delirious tried to retrieve the ladder, but Kingston nailed the ladder with a running kick, sending the steel ladder crashing to Delirious' rib cage!
Daytondave: That's gonna leave a mark.
Daniels returned to the ring, this time with a steel chair. Daniels cleared Lethal and Kingston out of the ring, and managed to set up the ladder. But Nigel pulled Daniels off the ladder, and the two former ROH champions went toe-to-toe and turnbuckle to turnbuckle, battling intensely as the ladder stood abandoned in the center of the ring.
Warlord: The ladder is up! It's anybody's match to win now!
Daniels made the first move on the ladder, managing to kick aside Delirious and Generico. Daniels went up the ladder, but McGuinness came off the top turnbuckle with a flying European Uppercut which obliterated Daniels and sent the ladder crashing harmlessly to the mat! Lethal battled Delirious on the infield, and Delirious narrowly escaped Lethal's attempt to suplex Delirious through a table! Generico duked it out with Kingston, and when Kingston went for a spinning backfist, Generico alertly ducked away and sent Eddie out of the ring with a backdrop! Nigel put the ladder upright, but Generico prevented Nigel from making the climb.
Daytondave: The battle rages on! Generico has absorbed a ton of punishment- but he is still fighting for the prize.
Delirious and Kingston threw hands, and Daniels once again came back with the chair. But Nigel dodged the chair shot and obliterated Daniels with a running spear, sending both men tumbling out of the ring. Nigel quickly slid back into the ring and made a move for the ladder, but Generico caught Nigel with a running boot which knocked Nigel to the mat. Generico took his chance, heading up the ladder. Kingston tried to stop Generico, but Generico kicked Eddie in the head and continued his climb. Lethal was the last man standing, and barely managed to catch Generico by the ankle and pull him down!
Warlord: That was a close call!
Delirious made a move on Lethal, but Lethal whipped Delirious to the turnbuckle and nailed Delirious with a leg lariat. This gave Lethal a clear path to the ladder, and he scaled quickly. Daniels came up the opposite side of the ladder, but Daniels was a step too late as Lethal climbed to the top and grabbed the contract!
JAY LETHAL WINS THE MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCHDaytondave: Congratulations to Jay Lethal, the winner of the Money In The Bank Ladder Match here at
Dawn of Destiny 2017! What an exciting contest we just witnessed. Any of those guys could have taken the contract, but Lethal was in the right place at the right time and he used his quickness to scale the ladder and snatch the victory!
Warlord: He took advantage of a situation!
Daytondave: Lethal has earned himself a title shot against the King Of The Indies. Right now, MOOSE holds that crown, but he has a tough title defense ahead in tonight's Main Event!
Main Event: King Of The Indies ChampionshipMOOSE (c) vs. ADAM COLEThe title match was a hard-hitting affair. Cole surprised Moose by taking the offensive early and refusing to be intimidated by the champion's size and strength. Cole paid the price when Moose nailed Cole with a high jump corner dropkick for a near-fall. But Cole kicked out of the pin attempt and countered with an enzuigiri out of nowhere to stun the big man! In an incredible show of power, Cole moved in behind the stunned champion and powered him over with the Florida Key and held his shoulders down for the three count!
ADAM COLE WINS THE KING OF THE INDIES CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: How about that! Ladies and gentlemen, history has been made here at the Great American Ballpark! Not since the great Hank Aaron hit home run number 715 have we seen such a monumental event here in Cincinnati! Adam Cole is your new King Of The Indies!
Dawn of Destiny 2017 will forever be remembered for this moment! Congratulations to Adam Cole on tonight's victory! All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight. CHIKARA will be back next Saturday night after the dust has settled with more exciting professional wrestling action. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!
