The show opens with the tune, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE and WARLORD emerge through the curtain and greet the cheering fans.

Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome to our Wednesday mid-week special presentation of the CHIKARA brand of professional wrestling.

Warlord: Look at all these great fans adorned in the Crimson and Cream! We must be in Hoosier Country!

(Cheers)

Daytondave: And now that we have taken care of tonight's cheap pop, we can get down to the business of wrestling. We have a great night in store for you, Bloomington, to be capped off by a No Disqualification Grudge Match pitting TIM DONST against the assailANT. Turn up the air conditioning, stage crew- it's gonna be a hot night. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!


HEARTLAND LADIES TAG TEAM DIVISION
THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE (VELVET SKY* & MADISON RAYNE***) defeated BALE SPIN (XANDRA BALE* & KC SPINELLI*) by disqualification
An action-packed opening contest! Bale Spin were in and out of the ring like clockwork, punishing Velvet and beating down Madison in the early going. Xandra pulled Madison out of the ring and administered a beating on the arena floor, until Madison finally escaped to tag in Velvet. Velvet and Madison combined to blast Spinelli with a Hollering Elbow, knocking KC out of the ring. In a rage, KC pulled Madison out to the arena floor. KC retrieved the ring bell and swung wildly at Madison, but referee CRUEFAN stepped in front of Madison and took the brunt of the blow! Cruefan dropped to the ground as the ladies continued to battle, but Cruefan heroically got to his hands and knees and called for the bell. Cruefan disqualified Spinelli, and awarded the match to the team of Angelina and Madison.


Daytondave: What a heroic act by the Cruefan! He just saved Madison Rayne from serious injury.

Warlord: Yeah, Cruefan really got his bell rung!

Daytondave: I see what you did there. Very clever. All right, fans- please join me in welcoming a legend of independent wrestling who has made the trip tonight to try and earn a CHIKARA contract.



CHIKARA CONTRACT MATCH
JERRY LYNN pinned FLEX RUMBLECRUNCH*
Despite his huge size advantage, Flex was in trouble from the start. Lynn easily avoided the big man's power moves, ducking under a clothesline and slipping out of an attempted bearhug. Lynn surprised Flex by holding his own in a battle on the arena floor, and when action came back to the ring, a TKO from Jerry led to a quick pinfall.


Warlord: What an impressive guy!

Daytondave: Jerry Lynn is one of the best. Welcome to CHIKARA! All right, fans- next up,-

Daytondave is interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone.

Daytondave: Hello? Wait- what? Seriously? Dude- I haven't heard from you in almost a year! What's going on?

Warlord taps the table impatiently. Daytondave waves a finger.

Daytondave: A tag team? Well, we're pretty booked... but for you- yeah, what the hey. We'll get you guys in here!

Daytondave pumps his fist as he clicks off the phone.

Warlord: What in the sam hill was that?

Daytondave: I just hooked up CHIKARA with a huge acquisition! Now- where were we?

Warlord: We already HAVE a tag team division, AND the Independent Tag Team League. Tonight's league match is waiting in the ring.



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
TEAM TREMENDOUS (2-2) vs. CATCH POINT (0-4)
Despite being winless for the year, Catch Point started off well when Tracy Williams wailed on Dan Berry with a series of shoulder breakers, and Williams nearly forced Barry to tap out to a Facelock. Carr hit the ring to save Barry, but Yehi came to Williams' aid and all four men battled evenly. Out of nowhere, Carr planted Yehi with a snap suplex and Barry followed quickly with a flying leg drop for a pin on Yehi!


WINNERS: TEAM TREMENDOUS


Daytondave: Wow! Team Tremendous pulled that victory out of nowhere!

Warlord: Catch Point had it going for a minute- but just as Ambrose Burnside before them, Williams and Yehi managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Daytondave: Ambrose Burnside?

Warlord: Google it.

Daytondave: Yeah... I'll get right on that- after our final match of the night!



NO DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH
TIM DONST defeated assailANT** by submission
Donst was in charge from the beginning and made quick work of the assailANT. Donst tortured assailANT with the Chikara Special before forcing the masked man to tap out to the Hydro Lock.

After the match, members of GEKIDO came to ringside, circling around Donst menacingly. Donst called for the microphone.

Donst: Hey- you goofy looking losers! When is enough going to be enough? We have been beating you guys long enough- it's time to end this. So why don't you bring your guys to Freedom Festival 2017 and let's finish this once and for all!

Donst drops the mic and heads back to the dressing room as the GEKIDO members whisper among themselves.


Daytondave: Man, oh man! Donst took care of business tonight. And that gives me an idea for Freedom Festival. I am going to book a ten-man, old-fashioned Survivor Series match! Our first match for the summer extravaganza! All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight! CHIKARA will be back on Saturday with a full night of action- and the Heartland Ladies' Championship will be on the line! It will be the champion, KIMBER LEE, facing perhaps her toughtest challenge yet when she takes on CHEERLEADER MELISSA in the Main Event. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!

My drive to Bloomngton was uneventful except for seeing Big Jim The Enforcer outside the arena with a "Will work for Twinkies" sign. I passed him by honking my horn and happily drove into the parking lot. I eagerly headed into the building to get ready for my match assignment - The Beautiful People vs. Bale Spin. Imagine getting to referee a match between four beautiful ladies, sorry Big Jim but it looks like I will be petitioning to secure this job long term. I don't like to brag but my toughness was on full display as I bravely saved Madison Rayne from the ring bell shot and still managed to render a DQ decision. Yes, Warlord, my bell was rung but I still got the job done. On a side note I think I saw joebreakdown watching from the front row so it is good to know he didn't have car trouble this time.

As for the rest of the card I was really happy to see Jerry Lynn earn a contract with the Heartland plus I am eager to see which big tag team is coming in. I am shocked to see Catch Point drop to 0-5 in the Tag League but congrats to Team Tremendous on picking up a key win. As for the main event Tim Donst gets the big win and lays down a serious challenge to Gekido for Freedom Festival 2017.

The show opens with the tune, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE and WARLORD make their way down the aisle toward ringside, greeting the fans along the route.

Daytondave: Hey, fans! Welcome to CHIKARA! We have a lot of great action lined up for you tonight-

Warlord: Right here in State College, Pennsylvania, the home of the Nittany Lions!

(Cheers)

Daytondave: This is definitely a spirited place for the superstars of CHIKARA to get their wrestle on. And tonight is a big one- the Heartland Ladies' Championship is on the line!

Warlord: I don't think I like the chances for KIMBER LEE to retain. CHEERLEADER MELISSA is a tough challenger!

Daytondave: Possibly the toughest challenge to date for Kimber's title run.

Warlord: And the pressure is on CRUEFAN tonight as the referee- this is a big-match situation, and with LARRY SWEENEY at ringside, you never know what to expect.

Daytondave: Cruefan knows what he is doing- I am confident that tonight's Main Event will go off without incident. But first, we have a lot of action teed up, and we're going to kick it off with two of the superstars of the independent scene competing for a CHIKARA contract. We're gonna rock Penn State tonight, fans- so relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!


CHIKARA CONTRACT MATCH
RODERICK STRONG* pinned WILL OSPREAY**
Ospreay came out looking to impress the crowd, but his aerial moves failed to impress the veteran Strong. Roddy slowed Ospreay with a vicious backbreaker onto the turnbuckle, setting up Ospreay for a Sick Kick from Strong to finish it.


Daytondave: Roderick Strong is your winner! Congratulations on your arrival here in CHIKARA.

Warlord: Roderick is too smart of a guy to fall for the flippy-dippy business.

Daytondave: Coming next- a couple of tag teams in search of a shot at the Campeonatos!



HALLOWICKED & FRIGHTMARE defeated COLIN DELANEY**** & CREECH
Shenanigans in the tag match! Frightmare and Hallowicked battled To Infinity for several minutes on even footing until SEVENTEEN and THE SHARD came to ringside! Seventeen pulled Creech off the ring apron, and Shard jumped onto the ring apron. As the referee was tangled up with Seventeen, Shard nailed Delaney with an enzuigiri, knocking Delaney to the mat. Shard and Seventeen scattered, leaving the ring area in a state of chaos. Amidst the confusion, Frightmare came off the top rope with a Fright Crusher and covered Delaney for the three count.


Daytondave: Seventeen? He's back again?

Warlord: Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier with this Gekido business... Seventeen changes the questions.

Daytondave: And brings us one step closer to the confrontation at Freedom Festival 2017. But for tonight- Hallowicked and Frightmare are the winners- and they now have two points toward a chance to battle for the Campeonatos! Now, let's take a look at a couple of singles competitors coming off costly losses and trying to keep their championship hopes alive.



JOCK SAMSON pinned SHYNRON*
The big hillbilly was entirely unimpressed by the athletic moves of young Shynron. Shynron tried to hit Samson with a sligshot reverse neckbreaker, but Samson swatted him away like a mosquito. A couple of stiff kicks from Samson stunned Shynron, and Samson blasted forward with the .38 Special Lariat which turned Shynron upside down and delivered Jock the victory.


Daytondave: Well, after the food fight debacle, it is good to see Samson back on track.

Warlord: Unless you are Shynron.

Daytondave: A point well taken. Fans- we have TWO exciting matches from the 2017 Independent Tag Team League tonight- so let's get to it!



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
DREW GALLOWAY & JOHNNY GARGANO (2-2) vs. SCORPIO SKY & JOEY RYAN (4-0)
Gargano and Galloway were at the top of their game tonight! Both members of the Dynasty took a pounding, and when Gargano hit the Assisted Ace Crusher on Ryan, it looked like lights out. But Scorpio managed to make the save, allowing the match to continue but opening the door for Galloway to obliterate both opponents with a running double clothesline! Gargano picked up the stunned Ryan and tossed him with the Lawn Dart to pick up the pin.


WINNERS: DREW GALLOWAY & JOHNNY GARGANO


Daytondave: How about that! The Dynasty takes their first loss in 2017. That's surprising that Galloway and Gargano got it done- they have been underachievers in the eyes of some.

Warlord: Heavens to Betsy! That was the last of the unbeatens for 2017. It's anybody's ball game now!

Daytondave: Especially in the Independent Division! THE TRIBE are now just 1/2 match behind The Dynasty for the top spot as we are now midway through Block 6. All right, fans- let's kick it over to LARRY SWEENEY for this week's episode of "Sweet Talk"!

The scene shifts to the set of "Sweet Talk", where Larry Sweeney stands alone. He wears his neon green boa and his trademark grin as he jaws with the fans in the front row.

Sweeney: Okay, humanoids- it's time for me to drop some knowledge if you think you can handle it. KIMBER LEE is off tonight to get ready for her title match against CHEERLEADER MELISSA- and it's going to be a big one. Why they would entrust this match to a yutz like CRUEFAN is beyond me. But first things first- let's talk about the indies!

(Cheers)

Sweeney: Ring of Honor: New York continues to rock the wrestling world. KENNY OMEGA & CHRIS SABIN were successful in defending the ROH:NY Tag Team Titles this week against EYFBO- but Sabin was injured in a Pearl Harbor job after the match and his status remains unclear. If you ask me, this Faction Wars business has gotten way out of hand!

Sweeney: I am definitely looking forward to ROH:NY Best In The World next weekend. MOOSE vs. JAY LETHAL in a Fight Without Honor? I'll be glued to the screen for that action!

(Cheers)

Sweeney: The stars from Freelance Wrestling made an appearance this week with an exciting Tag Team Scramble match. Kudos to the FOUR STAR HEROES for outlasting three other teams, including our own THROWBACKS, to pick up the win!

(Cheers)

Sweeney: Here in CHIKARA, I am definitely excited about Freedom Festival 2017. My man Daytondave has signed both KOTI Champions to defend their titles! The King Of The Indies himself, ADAM COLE, will be at the Festival to defend his title against MICHAEL ELGIN. Those two have had a serious rivalry over the years, and Elgin has worked hard to earn his shot at the top dog- how great will that be?

Sweeney: And- our own team of GREEN ANT & FIRE ANT have been named the top contenders to the KOTI Tag Team Championship. They will cruise into Freedom Festival to challenge KENNY OMEGA & CHRIS SABIN!

(Cheers)

Sweeney: All right- before I sign off, there is one last thing I need to get off my manly chest. Daytondave- what's the deal with this new tag team that's coming? Last week your cell blew up and you acted like you won the lottery. What's up with that? Inquiring minds want to know…

Daytondave: Still in negotiations. These guys drive a hard bargain, and their manager is a ruthless negotiator. Let's head back to the ring for another top 8 contenders match!



GREG EXCELLENT defeated JIMMY RAVE by disqualification
With the stakes high for both men, Excellent and Rave went to battle. Excellent took the fight to the arena floor as often as possible, where Rave was clearly out of his element. In desperation, Rave went into his ring jacket and pulled out a spicy red pepper! Rave rubbed the hot pepper into the eyes of Excellent, who staggered around the ringside area screaming and holding his eyes. The referee called for the disqualification.


Daytondave: His eyes! I hope he hasn't suffered any damage!

Excellent: Tacos! Burritos! Chicago Dogs! Heeelllppp!!

Warlord: What an act of unspeakable cruelty! To douse a man in hot pepper and not offer him Mexican food is downright vicious!

Daytondave: Greg! Can you see?

Excellent: Of course I can. I am immune to hot peppers. I just need some nachos!

Daytondave facepalms.

Warlord: Lemme take my buddy Waffleman out to the concession stand, Daytondave. In the meantime, I have something to keep you occupied.


The tune, "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John plays overhead. BIG JIM THE ENFORCER struts onto the ring ramp, wearing a prison shirt, black Spandex tights, and pink legwarmers. Big Jim dances his way down the aisle, handing out fliers to the fans. Big Jim slides into the ring and performs several aerobics moves, much to the disgust of the ringside fans. Red-faced, Big Jim finishes handing out the fliers and disappears through the curtain.

Daytondave: You can't unsee that... but the man does love his Olivia tunes. Hey- can I get one of those fliers? Who sponsored that appearance?

A stage hand retrieves a flier, and Daytondave holds it up to the camera:

Daytondave: You cannot be serious. I suppose when you're at Penn State, it comes with the territory. Can we get back to wrestling?



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
THE THROWBACKS (1-3) vs. PIECES OF HATE (2-2)
The chaos continued on for the Gekido in their feud with CHIKARA technicos. The Pieces and Throwbacks were hooked up in a tight battle when COLIN DELANEY & CREECH came to ringside! Words were exchanged, and Creech pulled Jigsaw off the ring apron and decked him with a right hand! The referee immediately called for the bell, unfortunately costing the Throwbacks the defeat, but the war had just begun.

WINNERS (via disqualification): PIECES OF HATE

Cheech and Jigsaw pummeled each other with fists and fury, until SEVENTEEN and deviANT dashed to the ring to join the fracas. TIM DONST and MISTER ZERO hustled to the scene, and the brawl raged out of control for several minutes before officials finally herded the brawlers back to the dressing room.


Warlord: Will this madness never end?

Daytondave: Not until Freedom Festival. Now that we have that under control- for the moment- let's check out tonight's Main Event!



MAIN EVENT: HEARTLAND LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP
CHEERLEADER MELISSA* defeated KIMBER LEE by disqualification
The Main Event was, quite poccibly, the craziest cluster that the Heartland has ever seen. The air was thick with tension during the pre-match introductions, with referee CRUEFAN seemingly focused on the task of calling a fair match. But as Cruefan called for the bell, a disturbance arose outside of the ring with the unexpected arrival of JESSIE MCKAY! Jessie beckoned Cruefan with a wink and a wave, and Cruefan immediately turned his attention to the Aussie beauty. Jessie climbed to the ring apron, fawning over Cruefan.

Daytondave: Cruefan! Keep your eyes on the ring, dude!

As Cruefan was distracted, Kimber Lee backjumped Melissa with a running dropkick! Melissa went down, and Kimber put the boots to her. LARRY SWEENEY slithered into the ring, handing Kimber a steel chair! Sweeney attempted to restrain Melissa, setting up Kimber for an unprotected chair shot. But out of nowhere, a man at ringside reached into the ring and pulled Sweeney out to the floor! Melissa caught Kimber coming in, and slammed her boot into the chair, causing the chair to bounce off of Kimber's head!

Warlord: She got all of that one!

Kimber tumbled out of the ring with Melissa in pursuit. Sweeney scrambled to his feet and pulled the hood off the ringside interloper to reveal JOEBREAKDOWN! Joebreakdown restrained Sweeney as Melissa and Kimber battled it out. Cruefan tried to move across to the brawl, but when he turned his back, Jessie nailed him from behind with a low blow!

Daytondave: What the- ?

In all the confusion, Cruefan called for the bell and disqualified Kimber. Kimber grabbed the belt, and left the ring area with Sweeney and Jessie, laughing all the way back to the dressing room as Cruefan staggered to his feet, assisted by Joebreakdown.


KIMBER LEE RETAINS THE HEARTLAND LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP


Daytondave: I cannot believe what we just witnessed here, fans. Not shock that Sweeney would have some shenanigans up his sleeve- but Jessie McKay just turned on Cruefan and sided with Sweet 'N Kimber! No doubt, Kimber was happy to suffer the DQ in order to keep her title intact, but there will be a rematch for Cheerleader Melissa and it won't be pretty. All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight! CHIKARA will be back in action on Wednesday night with another epic mid-week special. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I will always have the handcuffs. You win some, you lose some as they say. The only redeeming aspect of that situation was joebreakdown getting his hands on Sweeney. That low blow by Jessie was uncalled for and I will file that away in the memory bank for future use on her, Sweeney and Kimber Lee. How that woman has held the title this long is a mystery and I guess I had something to do with that here which is unfortunate. Cheerleader Melissa deserved better and hopefully will get her revenge in the rematch. I am disqualifying myself as the referee for that encounter as how could I remain impartial after what was done to me in State College?

At any rate the rest of the show was solid especially the Tag League matches with Pieces of Hate and Gargano & Galloway picking up key wins. The Dynasty finally tastes defeat so it will be interesting to see how they respond to that. Congrats to Roderick Strong on earning his CHIKARA contract beating a tough opponent in Will Ospreay. Good stuff.

As I left State College, trying hard to forget about the scene with Big Jim The Enforcer, I couldn't help but hear the sad Incredible Hulk music playing in my head. After all Jessie did turn on me and it was not a good feeling. I spotted joebreakdown again having car trouble. This time, however, I offered him a ride to the next show as I didn't want him to be left stranded in Sandusky country. Joe is a good chap and I owed him a ride for coming to my defense against Sweeney. It was a rocking road trip as I gave Joe my trunk full of Jessie McKay beach balls to pop holes in and toss out of the car window. Good times.

The show opens with the tune, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith playing overhead. WARLORD spilts the curtain to the cheers of the fans, followed by DAYTONDAVE. Warlord is decked out in scarlet from head to toe, carrying a Rutgers University flag and waving to the crowd.

Daytondave: Dude gets his cheap pop without uttering a word. Unbelievable!

Warlord: March, march, men of Rutgers, down the field today!

(Cheers)

Daytondave: Well done, sir. Fans, welcome to our midweek edition of CHIKARA! We have plenty of great action lined up for tonight. The 2017 Independent Tag Team League will be in action, and we're gonna kick things off with a CHIKARA Contract match. We're gonna have a lot of fun tonight, fans- so relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!


CHIKARA CONTRACT MATCH
ACH* pinned PJ BLACK***
In a remarkably athletic match, ACH and Black exchanged high-speed moves for several minutes until ACH dodged a cross-body block and sent Black crashing to the match. Moments later, ACH connected with the Big Bang Attack and scored an exciting victory.


Warlord: Flippy-dippy RULES!

Daytondave: That was definitely a high-risk, high-reward match. Congratulations and welcome to ACH! Fans- it has been a long time since we saw RACE JAXON in a CHIKARA ring- when he put it all on the line to defend the honor of our federation against the likes of EDDIE KINGSTON and HOMICIDE. Tonight we welcome Race back to the ring!

N-R-G (RACE JAXON & HYPE ROCKWELL) defeated PIECES OF HATE (JIGSAW & SHARD*****)
The fans went wild for the return of Jaxon, but it was Rockwell who carried the load for N-R-G. Rockwell got the best of both opponents, and Jaxon assisted Hype with a double flapjack on Shard that shook the ring! Jaxon took over on Shard, again drawing the cheers of the crowd as he delivered a nasty Superkick. Jigsaw hit the ring to save his partner, and Jigsaw dropped Race with a Jig 'N Tonic! Jigsaw rolled Shard on top of Jaxon, but Rockwell obliterated Jigsaw with a Hyperwheel! Rockwell pulled Jaxon back on top of Shard, and the referee made the three count!


Daytondave: Welcome back to the team of N-R-G!

Warlord: These dudes are legit.

Daytondave: 2 Legit to Quit!

Warlord facepalms.

Warlord: Save the puns for me, little man. Who's up next?

Daytondave: Well, after the debacle from Saturday night's Ladies' Title match, we're giving the gals the night off. We have another big singles match- the winner keeps his spot in the CHIKARA top 8!


TOP 8 CONTENDERS' MATCH
JIMMY RAVE* pinned ASHLEY REMINGTON**
It was a tough battle, with Ashley delivering several overhead suplexes which rocked Jimmy. But Rave took the fight to the floor and stunned Ashley with an STO on the outside. The shift in momentum was just the boost that Rave needed to drop Remington with an impressive Superplex to score the victory.


Daytondave: What a great contest! Jimmy Rave has pulled a lot of shenanigans in CHIKARA, but tonight he focused on the wrestling and picked up the win.

Warlord: And Ashley sails off onto the horizon... farewell!

Daytondave: I am sure he will get plenty of bookings with his talent and charisma. Okay, everybody- we're gonna finish off the night with action from the Tag Team League!



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
HALLOWICKED & FRIGHTMARE (2-2) vs. THE ROUGHNECKS (2-2)
Hallowicked and Frightmare surprised the Roughnecks, opening the bout with an all-out assault on Brodie. The Big Rig took plenty of punishment, but survived a couple of near-falls before making the desperation tag to Grizzly. Grizzly battled both men effectively until Lee was refreshed, but the Roughnecks botched a double-team attempt and Grizzly tumbled out to the arena floor. Frightmare flew from the top to nail Brodie with a Kneecolepsy, and Hallowicked followed with the Graveyard Smash to make the cover on Brodie to finish it.

I don't like to tip my hand, Daytondave, but who says I'm not a lesser man There could still be a connection between that Aussie beauty and myself, the story is still unfolding. I will remain quiet on that subject, however, as I take in what has occurred over the past few shows. Will I remain as the referee n the women's division or is something else in store for yours truly?

As for this show I always enjoy the Tag League action and congrats to Hallowicked & Frightmare on a key win over The Roughnecks. Getting the fall over Brodie Lee is no easy feat. Speaking of key wins, Jimmy Rave over Ashley Remington was one for Rave who could make a real impact in the title scene soon. N-R-G made a nice return winning their match but man Pieces of Hate need to get back to the drawing board. Congrats to ACH on earning a CHIKARA contract beating the equally talented PJ Black. Good stuff.

Been catching up on the ace fed as I recover from a great holiday with Kat Rana cruefan68 has certainly had his hands full, but props to him for doing his best to call it down the line.

I for one enjoyed the antics of Big Jim, The Enforcer. It looks to me like he's been watching The Chests in FPW, with his aerobic obsession all of a sudden!
