Thanks as always to Cruefan, Troy, and Joebreakdown for the comments. There will be some questions answered tonight as we head in to the last show before Freedom Festival 2017!
The show opens with the tune, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE and WARLORD arrive at the top of the ring ramp, waving to the cheering crowd.
Daytondave: Hey, fans! Welcome to your Saturday night spectacular broadcast of the CHIKARA brand of professional wrestling. The biggest event of the summer is just around the corner when we bring you Freedom Festival 2017! This is our final broadcast before the summer supercard, and we have plenty of business to conduct tonight. Our Main Event will be the number one contenders match for the CHIKARA Grand Championship. RICOCHET and GREG EXCELLENT will battle for the right to go to the Freedom Festival to face DELIRIOUS for the championship!
Warlord: Freedom Festival rocks! I can't wait for the big summer show. But tonight, we have a special surprise for the good people of the state of Maryland. For the first time, we present our own Teenage Mutant Ninja Terrapin!
The fans erupt with laughter as BIG JIM THE ENFORCER struts onto the ramp, dressed in a green body suit. He wears a red mask and carries two kitanas, awkwardly performing various martial-arts moves as he makes his way around the ring.
Daytondave: All right, Warlord- enough of this madness! Big Jim- get back to the dressing room and get your referee gear. After last week's debacle in the Ladies' Title Match, you have been reinstated as the ref for the Ladies' Division. You're on duty tonight, big fella. But fans- we're gonna kick things off with an old-fashioned CHIKARA Trios Match. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!
CHIKARA TRIOS
WILL OSPREAY, SHYNRON, & JONATHAN GRESHAM* defeated DA SOUL TOUCHAZ (MARSHE ROCKETT, WILLIE 'DA BOMB' RICHARDSON** & ACID JAZ)
The newly formed trio of Ospreay, Shynron, and Gresham gelled beautifully to take down Da Soul Touchaz. Big Willie Richardson was the target of the attacks, as Shyron blasted Da Bomb with a standing shooting star press, and Gresham wrapped up the big man in an Octopus Stretch. Acid Jaz came to the rescue of his partner, nailing Gresham with a running knee smash to break the submission hold. This brought all six men into the ring, and it was Ospreay who delivered with a beautiful Springboard Cutter on Richardson to capture the three count!
Daytondave: Wow! This new trio made a big statement in their CHIKARA debut. I can't wait to see more of these guys!
Warlord: The fans love the Flippy Dippies!
Daytondave: All right, folks- the ladies' match is scheduled up next, but we have a delay as Big Jim seems to be having a wardrobe malfunction. So let's bring out a couple of our top 8 contenders- both these guys need a win to keep their contender status alive!
JOCK SAMSON pinned CROSSBONES**
A big win for Samson! Jock was in control from the opening bell, as the chops of Crossbones had no effect. Jock put Crossbones on the canvas with a massive powerslam, then finished the contest in dominant fashion with a Piledriver.
Daytondave: Well done! Sampson is the winner and he keeps his spot in the top 8.
Warlord: With a Piledriver reminiscent of "Mr. Piledriver" himself, the double-tough Texan Bob Sweetan.
Daytondave: No doubt about it, the run that Samson has had here in CHIKARA has exceeded expectations. Good news- I think we're finally ready for tonight's Ladies match!
TRISH STRATUS** (w/JIMMY HART) defeated CANDICE LERAE* by countout
Big Jim finally made it to the ring, but Jimmy Hart again got the best of the beleaguered referee. Trish and Candice had a good battle in the ring until Trish pitched Candice out to the arena floor. Trish knocked Candice to the floor with a bicycle kick, then slid back to the ring as Big Jim began the ten-count. Candice made it to her feet in good shape, but Hart grabbed Candice by the ankle to prevent her from getting back to the ring as Big Jim called for the countout.
Daytondave: Seriously? Why doesn't Jimmy Hart let the ladies decide the outcome?
Warlord: That's why Trish pays Hart the big bucks.
THE DARK MENACE FORCES (BENETT COLE & ROCKY REYNOLDS*) defeated LOS ICE CREAMS (EL HIJO***** & ICE CREAM JR.**)
Despite the antics of Los Ice Creams, Cole and Reynolds controlled most of the contest. El Hijo brought down the house when he executed the Fanny Pincher on Cole, but the Benett responded with a Black Sheep Bomb to end it.
Daytondave: I don't think Benett Cole appreciated the Fanny Pincher.
Warlord: Some people have no sense of humor.
As Los Ice Cream collected themselves to leave, the ring was stormed by two huge men! Both Ice Creams were beaten down badly as the fans gasped.
Daytondave: War Machine! War Machine!
Warlord: War Machine?!?
HANSON and RAYMOND ROWE delivered a slew of punishment to the helpless Ice Creams. As the beating continued, boos erupted from the fans as TROY XAVIER strutted down the ring ramp with a triumphant grin. IRISH BRAT accompanied Troy, holding Troy's arm and squealing with joy as the War Machine annihilated the Ice Creams. Hanson clobbered Junior with a Spin Kick of Doom, then Rowe picked up El Hijo overhead.
Warlord: This is gonna be brutal!
With the fans in awe, Hanson went to the top rope and came off with a diving leg drop, and connected with a Diving Leg Drop at the precise moment that Rowe drilled El Hijo to the mat with a Powerslam! The double impact shook the ring, and left El Hijo a quivering heap on the mat. Troy slid into the ring and placed his foot triumphantly on the chest of the fallen El Hijo, while Irish Brat leaped into the arms of Hanson. Hansen hoisted the Brat onto his shoulder as Troy raised the arms of both men.
Warlord: That's the new team coming in?
Daytondave: Almost. We're still negotiating.
Warlord: Those two are a friggin' disgrace!
Daytondave: What's the problem?
Warlord: Unwanted scoundrels! Both of them!
Daytondave: Aw, come on- Hanson and Rowe are a decorated team. They can go with the best of them.
Warlord: Not Hanson and Rowe- the other two scoundrels in the ring.
Daytondave: Los Ice Creams?
Warlord: NO! Xavier and the Brat! Nothing but trouble, those two.
Daytondave: Nonsense! Nobody knows wrestling better than Troy. Do you know how many Galacticon Cups and Trivia Contests this guy has won? He's a legend!

Daytondave: You need to quit reading the message boards and watch this guy in action. He won't disappoint. Speaking of scoundrels- it's time to check in with LARRY SWEENEY for this week's edition of "Sweet Talk"!
The scene shifts to the set of "Sweet Talk", where Larry Sweeney struts around the stage wearing a gold suit, with his neon green boa and his trademark smirk. He is accompanied by KIMBER LEE and JESSIE MCKAY. Kimber is dressed entirely in white, and proudly holds the Heartland Ladies' Championship belt over her shoulder as she waves smugly to the crowd. Jessie is decked out in black, smirking into the camera and twirling a pair of handcuffs over her finger.
Kimber: All right you people- sit down and shut up! The smartest guy in the room has plenty to say tonight and I expect you to give my man his respect. Put your hands together for Larry Sweeney!

Sweeney: Cool your jets, people, while I drop some knowledge. First of all, I would like to welcome the lovely Jessie McKay to the team! When Jessie first approached me about working together, I gotta admit I was skeptical, but she turned out to be a lot less of a slag than most of the Aussie chicks I know. So, my dear, why don't you tell the world why you decided to join Sweet 'N Kimber!
Jessie leans over, puts her head on Kimber's shoulder, and pretends to nod off.
Jessie: Wait.. What? Sorry, I must have been sleeping. Just like I slept the whole time I wasted with that lame CRUEFAN… borrrrrrring!!! So vanilla… and all he ever did was listen to that awful Motley Crue crap… if I never hear "Home Sweet Home" ever again, it will be too soon. And his friends?!? Ugh! KING KONG BUNDY is lame, all he ever wanted to do was eat Twinkies and play Strat-O-Matic Baseball with that Friggin' Mormon… so I decided to come where the excitement is!

Sweeney: Yeah, yeah. What are you gonna do about it?
BIG JIM THE ENFORCER walks on to the set. He takes the handcuffs from Jessie. He then takes Jessie's purse from behind the podium, opens it, and pulls out another set of handcuffs. Big Jim speaks into a walkie-talkie on his belt, and moments later CRUEFAN and JOEBREAKDOWN arrive from backstage, carrying a gym bag.
Sweeney: Joe? How did you get here?
Joebreakdown: I'm carpooling with Cruefan now.
Jessie: What are you doing with my gym bag?
Cruefan opens the gym bag and hands it to Big Jim. Big Jim reaches around inside the gym bag and pulls out another set of handcuffs. Big Jim pauses and strokes his chin, then gestures toward Jessie.
Big Jim: Hands up!
Jessie: Don't touch me!
Big Jim looks at Kimber, and motions at Jessie. With a giggle, Kimber reaches into Jessie's top and pulls out another set of handcuffs. Big Jim nods, and leads Cruefan and Joebreakdown off the set.
Daytondave: Good work, Big Jim! Always a professional. Sweeney- Kimber- it's on for Freedom Festival. Kimber will defend the Ladies' Title against Cheerleader Melissa- and the rest of your crew will NOT interfere! Now, let's get back to action.
2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
THE BATIRI (2-2) vs. THE TRIBE (3-1)
The Tribe dominated the Batiri tonight, as both Lion and Warrior pounded the stuffings out of Kodama. After several minutes of carnage, Navajo Warrior finished the destruction with a Monument Valley Driver.
WINNERS: THE TRIBE
Daytondave: The Tribe continues to roll, and they continue to demonstrate why they were once the King Of The Indies Tag Team Champions! Fans- we have reached the end of block 6 of the Tag Team League. Let's take a look at the current standings!
Warlord: Look at my guys, THE BRAVADO BROTHERS! They own the CHIKARA Division!
Daytondave: They are the leaders at the moment, but only by one match. I wouldn't call that "owning" the Division. The Independent Division is anybody's ball game!
Warlord: Except for CATCH POINT. Think those guys will ever win a match?
Daytondave: Ouch. TRACY WILLIAMS and FRED YEHI are very capable competitors. The fact that they are winless just goes to show how competitive this league is- and there are still four rounds remaining! All right, fans- for months we have seen the battles between GEKIDO and MIKE QUACKENBUSH and friends. Next week at Freedom Festival 2017, we are going to put these two factions into the the ring in an old-fashioned, five-on-five Survivor Series match! But tonight, two of these men will once again collide in a battle for supremacy leading in to next week's showdown.
GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION
THE SHARD* pinned CHEECH***
With all ten men gathered tensely around the ring, Shard and Cheech battled with a passion. Action quickly spilled out of the ring, where both sides erupted into fisticuffs! As the battle raged, the referee managed to corral Creech and Shard back into the ring. But Seventeen reached in from outside the ring and grabbed Cheech by the ankle, allowing Shard to connect with a Superkick to put Cheech's lights out and score the pin.
Daytondave: Give that round to Gekido- but the big showdown withh go down at Freedom Festival 2017. And now, fans- we will finally determine which CHIKARA superstar will challenge for the Grand Championship!
MAIN EVENT: CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP - #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
RICOCHET pinned GREG EXCELLENT*****
Ricochet blew the doors off the arena with a high-flying win to become the #1 contender! After a quick start by Ricochet, Excellent drove Ricochet into the mat with a body slam. The high-flyer was slowed temporarily, and Excellent punished Ricochet on the canvas and on the arena floor. Finally, Ricochet caught a second wind and caught Excellent with a tornado DDT off the ropes! With Excellent reeling, Ricochet went to the air and unleashed an aerial assault, connecting with a 450 corkscrew splash to plant Excellent on the canvas! The fans chanted and cheered as Ricochet unleashed a flurry of high-impact moves until Excellent was lifeless on the mat. Ricochet finished the match in style, connecting with a soaring Chocolate Rain to score the pin!
Daytondave: Now THAT was impressive! You talk about a battle of contrasting styles? Ricochet took the best shots that Excellent could deliver and came back with an onslaught like I have never seen.
Warlord: Delirious is in BIG trouble next week! Who can stand up to offense like that?

THE BATIRI (2-2) vs. THE TRIBE (3-1)
The Tribe dominated the Batiri tonight, as both Lion and Warrior pounded the stuffings out of Kodama. After several minutes of carnage, Navajo Warrior finished the destruction with a Monument Valley Driver.

Daytondave: The Tribe continues to roll, and they continue to demonstrate why they were once the King Of The Indies Tag Team Champions! Fans- we have reached the end of block 6 of the Tag Team League. Let's take a look at the current standings!
Warlord: Look at my guys, THE BRAVADO BROTHERS! They own the CHIKARA Division!
Daytondave: They are the leaders at the moment, but only by one match. I wouldn't call that "owning" the Division. The Independent Division is anybody's ball game!
Warlord: Except for CATCH POINT. Think those guys will ever win a match?
Daytondave: Ouch. TRACY WILLIAMS and FRED YEHI are very capable competitors. The fact that they are winless just goes to show how competitive this league is- and there are still four rounds remaining! All right, fans- for months we have seen the battles between GEKIDO and MIKE QUACKENBUSH and friends. Next week at Freedom Festival 2017, we are going to put these two factions into the the ring in an old-fashioned, five-on-five Survivor Series match! But tonight, two of these men will once again collide in a battle for supremacy leading in to next week's showdown.
GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION
THE SHARD* pinned CHEECH***
With all ten men gathered tensely around the ring, Shard and Cheech battled with a passion. Action quickly spilled out of the ring, where both sides erupted into fisticuffs! As the battle raged, the referee managed to corral Creech and Shard back into the ring. But Seventeen reached in from outside the ring and grabbed Cheech by the ankle, allowing Shard to connect with a Superkick to put Cheech's lights out and score the pin.
Daytondave: Give that round to Gekido- but the big showdown withh go down at Freedom Festival 2017. And now, fans- we will finally determine which CHIKARA superstar will challenge for the Grand Championship!
MAIN EVENT: CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP - #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
RICOCHET pinned GREG EXCELLENT*****
Ricochet blew the doors off the arena with a high-flying win to become the #1 contender! After a quick start by Ricochet, Excellent drove Ricochet into the mat with a body slam. The high-flyer was slowed temporarily, and Excellent punished Ricochet on the canvas and on the arena floor. Finally, Ricochet caught a second wind and caught Excellent with a tornado DDT off the ropes! With Excellent reeling, Ricochet went to the air and unleashed an aerial assault, connecting with a 450 corkscrew splash to plant Excellent on the canvas! The fans chanted and cheered as Ricochet unleashed a flurry of high-impact moves until Excellent was lifeless on the mat. Ricochet finished the match in style, connecting with a soaring Chocolate Rain to score the pin!
Daytondave: Now THAT was impressive! You talk about a battle of contrasting styles? Ricochet took the best shots that Excellent could deliver and came back with an onslaught like I have never seen.
Warlord: Delirious is in BIG trouble next week! Who can stand up to offense like that?
Daytondave: You may be right, my man. I can't WAIT ro see those two tangle for the title! All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight!
