It's a hot summer in Los Angeles and we are gonna tear it up tonight!
EpicDave: That's right, Velvet. The stars of
West Coast Championship Wrestling and
Heartland Ladies' Wrestling have come to the Left Coast for tonight's pay-per-view broadcast of
Heartland Havoc XCIX: Pray for the Wicked. JAY LETHAL is here tonight to defend the
Ring Of Honor Heavyweight Championship against
MICHAEL ELGIN in tonight's Main Event!
Velvet: And the ladies are gonna represent tonight!
SHERRI MARTEL has dominated the
Heartland Ladies' Championship, but she is gonna have her hands full tonight facing the challenge of
ANGELUS LAYNE. EpicDave- what's with the hipster look? That's HAWT!
EpicDave: When you got it, flaunt it. That's what I always say. And tonight, Heartland is gonna flaunt some serious wrestling competition in the squared circle. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!
Special Challenge MatchNICK ALDIS vs. BRYAN DANIELSONAldis and Danielson opened the show with a technical battle which turned nasty. Aldis punished Danielson with strikes and submission holds, combined with a barrage of trash talk which got under the Dragon's skin. Action spilled out of the ring, where a wild brawl erupted. Danielson refused to stop the pummeling Aldis on the arena floor, and the referee was forced to call for the DQ.
WINNER (by disqualification): NICK ALDISEpicDave: The competitive juices are running hot here at
Pray For The Wicked! Barely ten minutes into the card it's already broken down!
Velvet: And it's about to go from bad to worse. These next two teams don't like each other- they never have and they never will!
Grudge Match: No Holds BarredSARAYA KNIGHT & RHIA O’REILLY vs. THE CANADIAN NINJASThe fists were flying from the opening bell as all four women battled fiercely. Saraya got hold of Portia early in the match and BIT her on the right arm, opening a gash that began to bleed. Portia fought on, taking punishment from both Saraya and Rhia. Nicole finally hit the ring and saved Portia, dropping a big elbow on Rhia without benefit of a tag. Rhia and Saraya controlled the brawl outside the ring, forcing the Ninjas to retreat to the ring and regather themselves. Once the standard tag team action resumed, Nicole and Portia worked together effectively, pulling off some slick double-team moves. Rhia took a pounding, prompting Saraya to come to the rescue. Portia pitched Rhia out of the ring, where Nicole obliterated Rhia with a running lariat. Before Saraya could respond, Portia clobbered Saraya with a superkick and covered her for the three-count!
WINNERS: THE CANADIAN NINJASVelvet: How intense was that? Portia Perez just pinned a former Heartland Ladies' Champion after a hellacious brawl! She might need stitches to close that bite on her arm- heck, she may need shots after that! But Nicole and Portia had the better teamwork and that made the difference.
EpicDave: You got that right. The chemistry between the Ninjas is unlike any other ladies' tag team out there. But when things go bad for a team- it can get ugly in a hurry. Our next match came from the implosion of
TEAM TAKEOVER after a series of frustrating losses.
RODERICK STRONG was kicked out of Takeover- but he refused to go down without a fight. Strong picked that fight against the leader of Takeover,
ADAM COLE- and that match is up next!
Boos descend from the crowd as Adam Cole struts to ringside as cocky as ever. He is accompanied by KYLE O'REILLY and DONOVAN DIJAK. Cole points and sneers at Strong at Roderick enters through the curtain, but Cole and his friends are shocked by the arrival ofAUSTIN ARIES & DAVEY RICHARDS Velvet: Looks like Strong brought some old friends along!
EpicDave: He's no dummy- and he has evened the odds for this showdown!
Grudge Match: No DisqualificationADAM COLE vs. RODERICK STRONGCole was itching for a fight from the second he hit the ring. Strong was happy to oblige, and it was on! After the opening punchout, Strong took to wrestling and dropped Cole with a pair of back suplexes. Strong set up Cole for the Sick Kick, but Cole pulled the referee into the path of Strong's kick! The ref took the kick full force and went down. That was all that Cole and company needed to set up their attack, and quickly Dijak and O'Reilly jumped into the ring and swarmed Roderick! Aries and Richards were right behind, and all six men began to throw hands! Referees from backstage rushed to the ring. Just when it appeared that order would be restored, and enormous man in a hooded sweatshirt climbed over the security rail, pulled Strong out of the ring, and smashed a bottle over his head! Strong was out cold before he hit the ground.
Velvet: What was THAT? Get that fan out of there!
Richards and Aries quickly rushed to their fallen partner as the big assailant shook off the referees. O'Reilly and Dijak cleared the ring as Cole came to the side of the big man. The fans were shocked when the invader removed his hood, revealing himself as KEITH LEE Cole celebrated like a birthday boy as he exchanged high-fives with Lee and O'Reilly and Dijak. Strong slowly came to his senses and was helped away from ringside by his mates. WINNER: NO CONTESTEpicDave: Not surprising- Adam Cole always seems to have an ace up his sleeve. And tonight, he pulled out a MAJOR surprise bringing Keith Lee to the Heartland! Things for Roderick Strong are going from bad to worse. And that was a No Disqualification Match- so the referee has decided just to throw that one out.
Velvet: That was a nasty knock that Roderick took. I'm glad he is okay! But we're gonna see some more nasty knocks in this next match between
KELLY KLEIN and
MERCEDES MARTINEZ. They beat the daylights out of each other this week in Cincinnati and they are itching to get at each other again!
Mistress of Mayhem ChampionshipKELLY KLEIN (c) vs. MERCEDES MARTINEZAnother slobberknocker between two intense rivals! Mercedes took control of this bout from the outset, hammering at Kelly with chops and forearms. Kelly went toe-to-toe, stunning Mercedes with a stiff knee to the gut, but Mercedes battled back and dumped Kelly with the Three Amigas suplexes for a near fall. Kelly pitched Mercedes out to the arena floor, where things got ugly. Kelly set up a table, and powerbombed Mercedes through the table! To add to the punishment, Kelly picked up the ring bell and slammed it onto Mercedes' back! Mercedes could barely get to her feet, but Kelly threw the challenger back into the ring and locked in The End Of The Match. Mercedes refused to tap out, but soon enough she went limp and the referee called for the bell.
WINNER: KELLY KLEIN
KELLY KLEIN RETAINS THE MISTRESS OF MAYHEM CHAMPIONSHIPVelvet: Wow. Just wow. Kelly Klein will do ANYTHING to hold on to her title. Mercedes took her to the brink- but Kelly rose to the occasion and picked up the win. Good job, girl!

Epic Sports Broadcasting Network!Heartland Ladies’ Tag Team ChampionshipMADE IN SIN (ALLYSIN KAY & TAYLOR MADE) vs. REGENERATION X (ALLISON DANGER & LEVA BATES) The champs came out with an arrogant swagger and attempted to bully the challengers. Leva shocked the champions when she pitched Taylor out of the ring and nailed Taylor with a flying knee smash off the ring apron! Danger followed with a Lovelace Choker on Made, and another Lovelace Choker on Allysin. Allysin tumbled out of the ring, setting up Danger and Bates for a double-team Madusa Cascade and a pin!

Ring of Honor Tag Team ChampionshipTHE BRISCOE BROTHERS (c) vs. RINGKAMPFThe Briscoes were on top of their game tonight. Mark started on Thatcher and immediately took control. Mark and Jay repeatedly double-teamed on Thatcher until WALTER could no longer keep control. WALTER hit the ring to defend his partner, but Jay Briscoe drilled WALTER with a superkick! With WALTER out of commission, the Briscoes got together for a Doomsday Device on Thatcher for a clean pinfall victory.
WINNERS: THE BRISCOE BROTHERS
THE BRISCOE BROTHERS RETAIN THE RING OF HONOR TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPEpicDave: Just another day at the office for the Briscoe Brothers.
Velvet: They made that look easy! But this next match will be rough for both these gals. It's the
Heartland Ladies' Championship- and it's No Disqualification!
Heartland Ladies’ Championship: No DisqualificationSHERRI MARTEL (c) vs. ANGELUS LAYNEAs Velvet predicted, this match was a slugfest. Angelus brought everything she had and actually controlled the match for several minutes. Angelus tossed Sherri around with and Exploder and a big Victory Lane TKO, but couldn't put Sherri away. Sherri got nasty, going to the eyes of the challenger and following up with a flurry of vicious knees to the ribs and the gut. Sherri pitched Angelus out of the ring, then delivered a crushing Flying Shoulder Tackle to Angelus on the arena floor. Angelus was dazed and disoriented, and was unable to make it back to the ring before the ten count.
WINNER (via countout): SHERRI MARTEL
SHERRI MARTEL RETAINS THE HEARTLAND LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIPVelvet: What an explosion by Sherri! I seriously almost thought she was in trouble- but she kicked it in to high gear and just obliterated Angelus. Can anybody beat Sherri? Like- ever?
EpicDave: That was an impressive comeback. Congratulations to Sherri on a big win here at
Pray For The Wicked! And now, fans- we take you to our Main Event of the evening!
Main Event: Ring of Honor Heavyweight ChampionshipJAY LETHAL (c) vs. MICHAEL ELGINIt was a classic battle between the speed and skill of Lethal and the indomitable power of Elgin. Lethal worked a smart strategy, bringing Elgin to the mat and clamping on the Figure-Four leglock. Elgin powered his way out of the hold twice, and finally got to his feet. That spelled trouble for Lethal. Elgin crushed Lethal with running shoulder blocks and a pair of devastating Buckle Bombs. Big Mike had all the momentum, and he finished the match in style with a huge Power Bomb!
WINNER: MICHAEL ELGIN
MICHAEL ELGIN WINS THE RING OF HONOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPVelvet: Michael Elgin wins! We have a new
Ring Of Honor Heavyweight Champion!EpicDave: Congratulations to Big Mike for winning the title for the third time! What a spectacular way to close out a terrific pay-per-view. I thought we were going to have an earthquake when Elgin hit that final powerbomb to seal the victory. The big guy won the Indy tournament at
Galacticon 2020, and leveraged that victory into another reign as ROH Champion here tonight. Give it up for the new champ! All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight for
