I think those of you attending GalactiCon should receive these cards today, if you didn't already last night. It was a good time creating these cards with Eric. I couldn't have asked for a better writing partner. Here's the story of Armistice...
After the Omicron Event, it was speculated what effects there would be on the future inhabitants of the planet. In most cases, the descendants were born and showed no signs of “powers” or abilities. Others developed special abilities throughout their late childhood or teenage years. Torrent and Clutch, the tag-team known as Armistice, fall into the latter category.
Both were lifelong wrestling fans, and took similar paths into the business. Torrent was trained by Max Shield, while Clutch was trained by Scorpi sympathizer Nefarus. Shield and Nefarus each instilled their own virtues about the Omicron/Scorpi conflict into their young protégés. Torrent and Clutch began competing in Serpens Cauda Wrestling Alliance (SCWA), and immediately feuded, starting the second generation version of the war. It was a unique battle royal that brought the two together. The stipulation of the battle royal was that the final two competitors would receive a shot at the tag-team titles. Torrent and Clutch won, then showed unexpected chemistry in upsetting the champions to win the SCWA tag team titles. This led them to question why they were fighting one another in the first place. They took the name Armistice, which means "truce", to show they have put the past conflicts of their mentors behind them and are now only concerned with winning tag gold. They have come to the GWFZ to compete with the best!
Torrent has energy coursing through his body, which he focuses in his POWER SURGE finisher, a spinning tornado punch. ARMISTICE ONSLAUGHT is a tag finisher where Torrent presses Clutch over his head and throws him at the opponent. Torrent is the power member of the team, which he displays in his bruising wrestling style.
Clutch has super grip strength, which he can use to crush hard objects, even metal! He uses a punishing, brawling style to set up his opponent for his finisher. His GRINDING FACE LOCK shows off that grip strength, as he grabs the opponent in wrenching crossface and tries to break his opponent's nose! CLUTCH PLEX is a back drop suplex, where Clutch quickly grabs his opponent and dumps him on his head. The Omicron Catapult sees Torrent standing outside on the ring apron, holding the top rope. Clutch grabs the rope and catapults Torrent into the ring, hitting the opponent with an awesome flying clothesline!
