See I think part of the problem was the advent of CotGOnline. Yes Online gave it a way to continue but more and more time of Osk's has been put in those areas it seems. all Centra entertainment appeared to me to be just a period for things to cool down. With Dark Tides shades of stuff happening like they did in the war were there (Shepard leaving, Godsend getting powers back, not to mention The Others story). I think it got shelved right before it was ready to kick back up again. Well I think the Z does fairly well. I'd be curious as to how well POW 2124 does in terms of sales.

Yeah, It's all very odd... what with it not being on the FG site and all. Is it official or not? it's very weird.
Osk's last post in the other thread seems to indicate he wants to get back to it someday, so that's good at least.

Well if nothing else, it seems we'll get a wrapup story.
I really think its the case of too much going on and being too thinly spread. After all working for COTG is Osk's other job, it's not his main one.
If we get back to the game someday though, that much the better.

I think what will ultimately happen is Osk right a graphic novel much like COTG: Genesis to wrap-up the aCe.
I'm considering doing bootleg sets for myself to carry on storylines and upgrading and downgrading guys. I just haven't played my aCe for awhile due to thinking there was going to be another set.

POW is what GWFZ is. In both cases, the main creator (Mark & Swarm) wanted to continue it. They got permission from Tom to independently handle the project. Both have other people aiding them in producing the sets.
They're both canon, but are being run in their own way.
I kind of wish aCe would follow a similar path...but I can understand that Osk would want to prioritize his current projects.
What I think hurt POW/aCe the most, is the move to digital/PDF exclusive. That seemed to be the first step is the eventual stand still of both promotions. You have to pay to get the sets professional printed out when you buy them or you have to pray your printer is up to the task. I think the last round of printing I did pretty much did my printer in...

It's alot easier and cheaper to produce those than cardstock. If you noticed there weren't many extra sets made of the Pre Order Madness and I expect POW 2124 to be the same way. I wouldn't even mind future aCe sets not being in CotGOnline if it would mean them being made. I'd be more than willing to help out on ideas, coming up with card ideas, stats, and playtesting. I'm just not a great writer or even a good one lol.

That is true. But I'd still argue that while it made distribution and production easier, it must have had a negative impact on sales and interest. aCe went from the talk of the COTG world to no one really discussing it.
Osk or someone could completely prove me wrong, but I think it's a fair assumption at face value.

I think part of the interest thing went from CotGOnline becoming the big thing. Then effort and time went into it working on it getting the new and old GWF sets in, and working out the bugs. Then LOW became a huge focus, and LOWOnline. Things like the aCe and POW have feel to the side. Now the big thing is DMP, with Tom's ebook and new style of game playing, and Osk's book, or ebook, or whatever exactly it is.
I don't think players have stopped being interested as much as due to it being put aside, we've been 'forced' to pay more attention to or be interested in the new things that Tom keeps pushing (CotGOnline, LOWOnline, DMP, Tom's ebook, Superhero version of the game, Osk's book and GWF)
I'm glad Rob has kept the Z going as its nice to have variety and I'm stoked about POW having another set as well and that really provides variety with the MMA.

In the end, Tom has to go with what sells. It is a business after all, not just a project of love. While aCe may have seemed popular, the sets were not selling as much as the GWF or Legends (we'll never know how much though) In the end, I almost wish 2123 hadn't come out as it teased so much, but looks like it will be all for naught.
Still, I trust Tom and Kris will do something fun with it at some point when time and resources allow.

I think an unofficial fan-made aCe bootleg set and an official graphic novel by Kris Osk as a wrap-up would be great.
