This character started off as "The Phantom." Like a number of my very early characters, he was pretty much a clone of an existing CotG character--in this case, Darkos. He was, like Darkos, a theater performer, and the original character was based on the Phantom of the Opera. Within a couple of years I had updated him and given him a new identity--Maccavity, a master thief from the musical Cats. Since that is the character he has been for most of his ten years in my USWF, that's the one I will post. MACCAVITY | 6'0"; 238; Achernar | Level 1 Offense | Level 1 Defense | 1. hip toss-1 2. drop toe hold-1 3. rolling cradle-2 (pw) 4. snap suplex-2 (pw) 5. knife edge-2 (ch B) 6. flying dropkick-3 (ag) | 1. dazed-1 2. MACCAVITY-1 3. MACCAVITY-1 4. dazed-1 (tag) 5. hurt-2 6. MACCAVITY-1 | Level 2 Offense | Level 2 Defense | 1. wheel kick-2 (ag) 2. nail rake-2 3. into the ropes 4. head scissors-2 (ch C) 5. Ghost Grip-3 6. Feline Flyer-3 | 1. MACCAVITY-2 2. hurt-2 (tag) 3. hurt-2 4. MACCAVITY-1 5. dazed-1 6. hurt-2 | Level 3 Offense | Level 3 Defense | 1. thrust kick-2 2. deathjump (c) 3. out of the ring (c) 4. Hidden Paw Claw-3 5. GRAND THEFT (+1) 6. GRAND THEFT (+1) | 1. down-3 2. PIN 6 (3) 3. hurt-2 4. down-3 (lv) (tag) 5. hurt-2 6. hurt-2 | Ropes -- A Turnbuckle -- B Ring -- B Deathjump -- B Disqualification -- 5 | Agility -- -3 Power -- 0 Cage -- 4 |
Original Bio (2100): THE PHANTOM: The Phantom is a young masked man from Darkos’ home planet of Achernar. Like Darkos, the Phantom was an actor before becoming a wrestler, and he has a particular fascination with the lead role in the Earth drama The Phantom of the Opera. Relatively small but lightening quick, the Phantom is an outstanding technical wrestler. His finisher, the NIGHT FLYER, is a flying head scissors off the turnbuckle. Updated Bio (2103): MACCAVITY THE MYSTERY CAT: Two time former USWF champion the Phantom grew tired of Shadowmaster in 2102 and has broken away from the Assassin’s Guild. He has dropped his Phantom of the Opera image, taking on instead the persona of another character from a twentieth century Earth theater show: Maccavity the Mystery Cat, the supreme burglar from the musical “Cats.” Rather than wear his familiar mask, he now paints his face in orange and gray stripes to resemble a tabby cat and enters the ring to the late twentieth century rock song “Stray Cat Strut.” What has not changed is his lightening quickness, and experience has made his wrestling skill even more impressive. His new finisher, GRAND THEFT, is typical of the Phantom’s old high-flying style: Maccavity performs a moonsault from the top turnbuckle and lands back-first on the opponent’s chest. Then, while still lying on top of the victim, he reaches back and hooks the opponent’s legs for the pin. Other Notes: Maccavity has been a very successful wrestler for me. As the Phantom he was twice the USWF champion. As Maccavity he has ben USWF champions once, interstellar champion four times, cruiserweight champion twice, and wrestler of the year once. He started out as a villian, was a hero for a few years in the USWF and a year in the GWF when he switched images, and has been a heel again for some time now.

This character is my update of one of Adam Scepaniak's creations. Adam called him Reganald Witherspoon. He was a member of the tag team called the Ivy League with Conrad Chase. The Ivy League entered my USWF in 2103 the way Adam designed them. In 2107 I retired Chase and gave Witherspoon an update, dropping his first name. Below is the update I designed. WITHERSPOON | 5'10"; 237; Canopus | Level 1 Offense | Level 1 Defense | 1. hip toss-1 2. hammerlock-1 3. knee lift-2 (ag) 4. into the turnbuckle 5. forearm combo-2 6. snap suplex-3 (pw) | 1. WITHERSPOON-1 2. dazed-1 3. dazed-1 (tag) 4. hurt-2 5. WITHERSPOON-1 6. dazed-1 | Level 2 Offense | Level 2 Defense | 1. knife edge-2 2. dropkick-2 3. body scissors-2 (ch A) 4. neckbreaker-2 (ch F) 5. flying elbow-3 6. slingshot suplex-3 | 1. hurt-2 2. WITHERSPOON-1 3. hurt-2 (tag) 4. hurt-2 5. dazed-1 6. WITHERSPOON-2 | Level 3 Offense | Level 3 Defense | 1. leg drop-2 2. deathjump (c) 3. out of the ring (c) 4. superkick-3 5. Varsity Splash-3 6. THE UPPER CRUST (+2) | 1. hurt-2 2. hurt-2 3. down-3 (tag) (lv) 4. hurt-2 5. PIN 7 (4) 6. hurt-2 | Ropes -- A Turnbuckle -- C Ring -- B Deathjump -- A Disqualification -- 5 | Agility -- -3 Power -- 0 Cage -- 4 |
2107 Update Bio: Reganald Witherspoon has declared that he now wishes to be known simply by his last name, and the former “Ivy League” member is now fully devoting himself to singles wrestling. Witherspoon has built up his strength and is focused on regaining the USWF cruiserweight title that he held briefly in 2106. His new finisher, THE UPPER CRUST, is a knee and back wrenching STF-type submission maneuver. Other Notes: Witherspoon has been a four time cruiserweight champion in my USWF. In 2110 he formed a tag team called "Upper Class" with the create-a-character winner Varsity. They have been very effective and are currently in their second run as USWF tag team champs. Okay, I've added the artwork for all of the characters I have posted so far. Please note that I make no claim to any artistic ability whatsoever. I just added the art for curiosity's sake.

Blitz Bio (2102): Blitz is a huge young Gladiator trained by Spike and Brute at the Aethran Wrestling Academy. He models his style after Brute, and even at his current age of 21 he has the power to match any Gladiator other than his trainers and Overkill. Because of his loyalty to the men who helped him develop his skills, he has agreed to join Predator in the USWF to battle Ravage, Malice, and Ruin. Blitz is generally more restrained and subdued than his Aethran predecessors in wrestling, but he has a violent temper when provoked. His finisher, the LOOSE CANNON, is a flying body splash which Blitz delivers by diving off the second turnbuckle. Scar Bio (Original 2102): Scar is the smallest Aethran to enter professional wrestling, and because of his lack of size he was lightly regarded by officials on Aethra. In mid-2101, he was badly injured when another young Gladiator, Ruin, attacked him after a match at the Aethran Wrestling Academy and attempted to blind him with a broken glass bottle. After this incident, Aethran officials saw him as a complete failure and wanted to dismiss him from the Academy. However, Brute, the Academy’s head trainer, saw promise in the youngster and insisted that he be allowed to continue his wrestling education. When Predator asked Brute and Spike to send allies to help him against the Aethrans in the USWF, the Gladiator greats offered the opportunity to Scar, who jumped at the chance to prove himself against those whom his superiors had considered better wrestlers. Scar is a mere 19 years old, very young by Aethran standards, but he has fine quickness and technical skills. He wears Gladiator paint on only one side of his face, leaving visible the ugly reminder of his attack by Ruin, a long scar that stretches from his right eye to his cheek. Perhaps because of his own injuries, he has developed as his finisher the FACE RIPPER, a face claw which Scar applies with his fingers as close to his opponents’ eyes as he can place them without risking disqualification. He and Blitz also have a tag finisher, the AETHRAN TRIUMPH, for which Blitz lifts the opponent onto his shoulders and Scar dives off the top turnbuckle to land a powerful flying bulldog. Scar Bio (Updated 2106): : Just returned from an unofficial cleansing with Brute and Massacre, the young Aethran Scar has begun to come into his own. He has gained some weight and increased his strength without losing his quickness. He and Blitz have already been USWF tag champions on more than one occasion, but Scar is also becoming more dangerous as a singles wrestler. At this time, however, he remains primarily dedicated to his team with Blitz. His singles and tag team finishers, the FACE RIPPER and THE AETHRAN TRIUMPH, have not changed but have both become more potent, although Scar no longer uses the FACE RIPPER in tag matches. Other Notes: Rebellion has been the most successful and most popular tag team in my USWF, holding the tag team belts eight times between 2102 and 2110 and holding nearly every tag team record imaginable. They have competed well against Thunder and Overkill and other top GWF team in a few federation crossover matches. In December of 2110 they turned against Wrath on the final card of the year and joined Venom in the creation of a new Gladiator villain team in the USWF. REBELLION (Original Artwork)SCAR 2106 Update

Original bio (2106): Venom is the son of Gladiator legend Spike’s sister and is an enormously talented young fighter. Still only seventeen years old and not yet finished growing, he was being groomed for greatness at the Aethran Academy when he grew impatient and decided to enter wrestling on his own with Massacre’s help. He is very undisciplined and takes many unnecessary chances, but no one who sees him denies that he is headed for greatness. Having looked up to his uncle and the other original gladiators while he was young, he is also far more loyal to Massacre, Brute, and Spike personally than to Thakur or to Aethra in general. His SNAKEBITE finisher is a “Diamond Cutter” type jawbreaker/ bulldog. Updated Bio (2111): The nephew of Gladiator legend Spike has returned from his first cleansing and claims to be ready to dominate in the USWF. His primary focus appears to be on Wrath, the half-Aethran powerhouse who is outspoken in his hatred of the Gladiators. While he entered the USWF in 2106 as a seventeen year old wildman willing to take any risk, Venom is now more controlled, more calculated, and more deadly. His new set-up move, “Slow Death,” is a painful maneuver in which he positions himself back to back with his victim as if for a hangman’s noose neckbreaker, but then bends forward and lifts the opponent off the floor by the neck, effectively hanging him and straining his neck muscles. It is the perfect preparation for Venom’s jawbreaker/ bulldog SNAKEBITE finisher, a move which he has also improved and made more powerful. Other notes: Venom has become a central figure in my USWF, and it was he who convinced Blitz and Scar to turn on Wrath and join him. He is the current USWF Heavyweight Champion. His update actually came in 2110, not 2111, but I redid it in 2111 because I had made him more powerful than I intended. In 2110 he had the same card as the update above but with an A deathjump rating, a -2 agility, a 5 (2) PIN, and no "ag" on his L1O roll of 6. There might have been other differences, too. I decided to tone him down so that he is still a top level fighter but is now more beatable. Art for 2106 card:Artwork for 2111 Update:
