What does everyone think of them? I think it's a fantastic concept, and really makes it feel more 'MMA-like'. It also adds some nice variety, and even can help in booking... what better way to have a re-match than to have a guy injured in training?
I do think it could be a bit better in the actual implementation, though. I'd really rather see each trainer have a back-of-the-card type chart, to give them unique characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses.
Then you could even take it to the next level... with guys going to the trainer who skills they need, even if, perhaps, they're feuding with another fighter in the same camp? It would open up alot more possibilities, and more it more solidily into the MMA world.. .stables and managers seem a little too wrestling for the new feel of the fed.
Thoughts?

We considered a few approaches with the trainers including the back-of-the-card type of thing you mentioned, but went with the rating system for reasons that may become more obvious when 2125 hits.
I think there will be some loose stables moving forward, but perhaps more fluid than the usual wrestling-based concept. There's really no law that says Cypher couldn't train with Splatter, for example, just for one match.
The trick with this whole MMA thing, as we're learning, is balancing the realism with the ease of the COTG system. If we throw too many things in there, the game gets harder to just sit down and play. That's what's taken the implementation of rounds so long to get to, although we might be onto something in that regard, as well.
At any rate, trainers will be explored more fully in 2125. Count on that.

Rounds haven't been a huge issue to me. Wasn't early UFC fights one 15 min fight? That's how I envisioned the POW but not necessarily a time limit.

The earliest UFC fights had no time limit. The time limit of 30 minutes with an overtime period was intoduced in UFC 7 I think. It went to it's present format of three 5- minute rounds when zuffa picked up the company. I like the trainers. I think the system we have works well. What exacltly Would you change wildfire?

I'd just like to see more variety. The concept is really good, but it's pretty formulaic... I'd like to see some trainers have higher or lower risk/reward... and maybe some have some unique to them... like a new move or a special training regimen that does something no one else can do.
