I recently had a huge first-ever Impossible Tournament (4 Four man round robins, winner of each pool went to finals in another 4 man round to determine winner. Title on line for whole tournament). It worked out great as Paralyze kept his belt successfully winning the whole thing. Avarice cashes in his MITB shot and beats Paralyze for belt. I know where to go from there obviously. I ran the PPV with the finals on it and other matches.
I have no idea where to go...
1. How do you set things up to lead into the next PPV?
2. How do you build matches and feuds or angles during those cards before the PPV?
I'm stuck now that I blew the proverbial load all on the PPV and now I run 4 cards then a PPV again which is King of the Cage. I don't feel like playing my fed cuz I don't know how to get started. It's been forever since I've done it and don't remember what triggered me to get moving again. I have a card lined up with angles laid out, but I don't feel it's up to snuff.
Cheap Plug: Check out and read my fed GWF: FUSION if you'd like to maybe get some ideas or see what I'm talking about. Any help is appreciated.

First, I know what you mean re: blowing the proverbial load on a PPV.
1.) I always try to leave an angle that I think is especially fun to book/write going, because it gives me something to look forward to going into the next PPV. On TV, I'll put the people feuding in tag matches, possibly cheap out with a finish, have a brawl, match between the guys gets announced. Sometimes, a guy loses, issues a challenge, match is set up.
2.) To build to things, I do tag matches with people that I have feuding and usually use run-ins, sometimes promos, or even 'cheap' finishes (Electroshock getting disqualified for using a Tombstone Piledriver, for example).

The ppv sparked a new angle now. Paralyze ran thru everyone to win and retain his belt, then Avarice snatched it away like a thief in the night. They're in for a major feud for sure. Thanks for this reply, it could help me.

Avarice (Eric), as you know, I have always read your fed and I have always liked it. What I was thinking was this: Monolith should insert himself into the Galactic Title title picture. He should feel that he is above the rest of the fed and should get a shot at the title. This would allow Monolith and Paralyze to have a program leading into a possible 3-way or series of matches. This will give you more than a 1 month angle and produce some great matches.
Now, as for Wolf leaving, you should have him get attacked, but not reveal who it is. This would obviously give you the set up for an under-neither angle and you could use this in several different ways. I am not 100% on who would jump him, but it could give you "other" main events, instead of Monolith - Paralyze - Avarice always working mains.
Just throwing stuff out there for ya.

Thanks guys for the replies. Wolf is retired, Jason and he's gone for good. Monolith will be feuding with Shylock up to the PPV, but I haven't ruled him out of the title picture, he's just been side tracked as of late. I don't have a problem where to go with that. I guess my whole thought on this post is that I lined up my first card after my latest PPV and it just didn't seem that stellar. I'll hope for the best and see where things take me. Thanks again.

One of the reasons I stopped building to monthly PPVs is because of spending everything on one PPV and not knowing what to do next, mostly because my time is more limited than it used to be and it's hard picking up the threads if too much time has passed. I find that letting angles run their course at their own speed works better for me. The only PPV I've run in the past couple of years was my War of the Worlds PPV, but since it was a one shot interpromotional PPV, I didn't have to worry about what was going to happen afterwards.
Of course, you could obey the golden rule of LOW and COTG feds: When in doubt, have a tournament.

The only thing I can say is it will probably depend on how well your writing skills are?! I think if you really want this to work well, build the tension so thick, you can cut it with a knife! Keep the two apart as long as you can and build up the heat between the two in your writing. Then by PPV time, these two will tear into each other like a pack of wild dogs! You might even find yourself chomping at the bit during play and it will be more memorable that way!!

I'm running an LOTF/LOW fed that is admittedly more free-form than the COTG feds I have run. In the COTG ones, I have strictly scheduled events and sometimes the cards are lackluster because I haven't built things up enough.
However, with my LOTF fed, I run supercards whenever it feels like. That way, they are all epic and have mostly matches that are as a result of hot feuds starting or coming to an end.
