Patterning Your Fed after a Real Life Fed

My bootleg fed Unified Independent Wrestling is patterned off of local wrestlers that compete mostly for the Independent Pro Wrestling Association, Dynamic Championship Wrestling and the Heartland Wrestling Association.

I pattern mine according to old WWF as far as having quarterly payperviews (Survivor Series my favourite) and a touch of WCW with a halloween show and an Xmas show when time allows.

First rule is to try & stay as current as possible. I try not to use anyone that hasn't wrestled somewhere within the last year. I try to mix in a little bit of everything, envisioning UltraMega! as sort of a "best of" independent promotion, incorporating elements of ROH, PWG, Chikara & obviously since my fed is non-storyline, EVOLVE, therefore limiting the majority of wrestlers I use to LotF guys. However, I do like adding the occasional LOW card to the roster, and between Partners & Ten, I've been able to add McGuinness, Kendrick, London, Lynn, Jazz & Super Crazy to it. Really looking forward to UltraMega's 25th card special, Caught Somewhere In Time, where I'll be matching up some not-so-old friends against the current roster.

The only fed I run regularly that's somewhat based on an actual fed is Hardcore Wrestling Association which is patterened somewhat on ECW. If I could keep my LOTF fed going it'd be a cross between CHIKARA and a lucha fed.

My NWF is loosely based on the old National Wrestling Federation that Pedro Martinez and Johnny Powers used to run in this area. Same geographic area, same venues and the "Superbowl of Wrestling" supercard name.

Booking style is a mix of late 70s-early 80s WWF and Smoky Mountain. Kind of standard territory booking theory. Only "modern" nuance is to try and give everyone some type of feud or storyline, even the lower card guys. I guess that's more late 80s to current WWF style.
