LEGENDS TELEVISION presents LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING: OCTOBER CHASE FOR THE GOLD on PAY-PER-VIEW SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2011 CHESAPEAKE ENERGY ARENA, OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA
ANNOUNCERS: Jim Ross, Gordon Solie, Mike Tenay
***RESULTS***
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat LOU THESZ by disqualification. Thesz caught Graham in the Stepover Toehold Facelock, but they were close enough to the ropes that Graham was able to reach out and grab the bottom rope. However, Thesz ignored the referee’s orders to release the hold, so the ref called for the bell at the exact moment Graham started tapping out. Thesz thought he won and was shocked to see Graham’s arm raised.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH MIL MASCARAS beat JACK BRISCO (Bootleg) with the Crossbody Attack finisher.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH GIANT BABA beat KILLER TIM BROOKS (Vintage Mayhem Bootleg) (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) with the Neckbreaker Drop finisher.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH HULK HOGAN (Bootleg) beat ZODIAC (Bob Orton Sr. card) (w/ Mr. Fuji) with the Leg Drop finisher. After the match, Hogan Atomic Dropped Fuji out of the ring and then unmasked Zodiac, revealing Bob Orton Sr.
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER MATCH The NEW ZEALAND SHEEPHERDERS (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) (w/ Larry Sharpe) beat The VALIANT BROTHERS (Jimmy & Johnny Valiant) (w/ Bobby Heenan) when Miller beat Jimmy after the Double Gutbuster finisher. The Sheepherders will now challenge for the LWF World Tag Team titles on the November PPV card.
TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat MIL MASCARAS with a Backbreaker to advance to the tournament finals.
TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH HULK HOGAN (Bootleg) beat GIANT BABA with a Body Slam to advance to the tournament finals.
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH The FABULOUS KANGAROOS (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) (w/ Wild Red Berry) beat Champions The ROAD WARRIORS (Animal & Hawk) (w/ Paul Ellering) when Costello beat Animal with two Boomerang finishers to win the belts.
TOURNAMENT FINAL SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat HULK HOGAN (Bootleg) with the Superstar Bearhug finisher to win the tournament and earn a shot at the LWF World Heavyweight title next month.
LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP -- BEST TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS RIC FLAIR (Bootleg) beat Champion STEVE AUSTIN (Bootleg) two falls to one to win the belt. Flair won the first fall with the Pin Using Ropes finisher. Austin won the second fall with the Stone Cold Stunner finisher. In the third fall, Austin was setting Flair up for the Stunner again when Flair surprised him with a Small Package for the pinfall. LWF General Manager Bill Watts then brought out Superstar Billy Graham as next month’s Number One Contender. But, then, Lou Thesz came out and said that title shot should have been his, that he momentarily lost his cool, but, in a fair match, he could take Graham. Graham got in his face, and Thesz shot in with a leg dive and then put the STF on Graham, who started tapping. Lou Albano pushed Austin out of the way and tried to pull Thesz off, but Austin retaliated by Stunning Albano. Flair left the ring while this was going on, holding the belt high as he walked to the back. Watts and several officials finally pulled Thesz off of Graham, and Austin celebrated in the ring with his trademark beer bash, while Thesz abstained from drinking.

A very cool ppv RM and I was so close to having a clean sweep of picks but the Roos haulted that along with Hogan losing. It looked like the Flair & Austin match was a fun match to roll out, Solid Stuff...

LWF General Manager Bill Watts has announced that, because of the events of the October 9 PPV, he has granted Lou Thesz a rematch against the tournament winner, Superstar Billy Graham, on Monday, November 7 in Liverpool, England. The winner will get the title shot against new LWF World Champion Ric Flair on Sunday, November 13 in Boston. This will be no ordinary match, though. It will be No Disqualification, and the only way to win is by submission. Graham has to win with the Superstar Bearhug, and Thesz has to win with the Stepover Toehold Facelock.
On the November 13 card, the new LWF World Tag Team Champions, the Fabulous Kangaroos, will, ironically, face a team that has dogged them all over the world, starting Down Under, in the New Zealand Sheepherders. Luke & Butch, with their flag bearer, Larry Sharpe, beat the Valiant Brothers to earn the title shot.
The next tag team challengers will be determined on November 13 as the former champs, the Road Warriors, meet the challenge of the returning Jim Cornette's team of Loverboy Dennis & Beautiful Bobby, the Midnight Express.
And, of course, there's the Chase For the Gold tournament to determine next month's World Title challenger. Former champion Steve Austin gets the automatic Number One seed, and October's remaining three semifinalists, Giant Baba, Hulk Hogan and Mil Mascaras, round out the top four. The remaining competitors in the tournament will be:
Bob Armstrong Nick Bockwinkel Ted Dibiase Superstar Bill Dundee Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert Antonio Inoki Nikita Koloff Jerry Lynn Wahoo McDaniel William Muldoon the Solid Man Super Crazy Val Venis
First-round matches for November 7 will be announced soon.

(Seedings assigned by random drawing, except for the top four.)
WAHOO McDANIEL (Bootleg) (#11 seed) beat ANTONIO INOKI (#6) with the Tomahawk Chop finisher.
TED DIBIASE (Million Dollar Man card) (w/ Virgil) (#14) beat MIL MASCARAS (#3) with the Million Dollar Sleeper finisher.
SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE (#10) beat NIKITA KOLOFF (Bootleg) (w/ Nikita Breznikov) (#7) with the Superstar Bomb finisher.
HULK HOGAN (Bootleg) (#2) beat JERRY LYNN (#15) with the Leg Drop finisher.

NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) (#9) beat SUPER CRAZY (#8) with the Figure Four Leglock finisher.
STEVE AUSTIN (Bootleg) (#1) beat WILLIAM MULDOON THE SOLID MAN (#16) with the Stone Cold Stunner finisher. Actually, it took three Stunners. On the first one, Muldoon kicked out at one, shocking everyone, Austin included. Another stunner, but Muldoon twisted to get his shoulder up at two. Third time was the charm, as the former World Champion shot the finger with both hands at Muldoon, Stunned him and finally got the 1-2-3. Bill Apter got in the ring to interview Austin, who said Muldoon was “one of the toughest S.O.B.’s I’ve ever been in the ring with.” As Muldoon made it to his feet, Austin shook his hand and offered him a beer, and the two drank beer … until Austin kicked him and Stunned him one more time.
LEGENDARY MAIN EVENT -- SUBMISSION MATCH SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat LOU THESZ with the Superstar Bearhug finisher. Graham had to win with the Bearhug, and Thesz could only win with the Stepover Toehold Facelock. Thesz tried several times to put his hold on Graham, but the Superstar clamped on his Bearhug and squeezed until Thesz passed out. Graham therefore retains his World Title shot this Sunday night against Ric Flair.

TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE beat HULK HOGAN (Bootleg) with the Superstar Bomb finisher. Hogan and the crowd were both in shock at this result.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH GIANT BABA beat BULLET BOB ARMSTRONG with the Neckbreaker Drop finisher. During the match, Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert, whom Armstrong beat and eliminated from the tournament, came to ringside and distracted the referee as Armstrong had Baba in the Sleeper finisher. As Baba flailed away, he accidentally hit the referee and knocked him down. Armstrong released the hold, dropping Baba to the mat, and went over to check on the ref. With Baba and the referee down, Gilbert climbed in the ring, reversed an Irish whip and gave Armstrong the Hot Shot. Baba recovered and knocked Gilbert out of the ring with one blow and then hit the Neckbreaker Drop on Armstrong, and the referee rolled over and counted 1-2-3.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) beat STEVE AUSTIN (Bootleg) with a Back Suplex.
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER MATCH The ROAD WARRIORS (Animal & Hawk) (w/ Paul Ellering) beat The MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) (w/ Jim Cornette) when Animal beat Condrey after the Doomsday Device finisher. Most of the match took place outside the ring,, where the Sheepherders opened up a nasty gash in Costello’s head. Heffernan finally managed to tag in and was holding his own when a bloody Costello tagged back in, leading to the Sheepherders winning the match and the titles. Costello had to be rushed to the hospital and treated for loss of blood.
TOURNAMENT FINAL TED DIBIASE (Million Dollar Man card) (w/ Virgil) beat NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) with the Million Dollar Sleeper finisher to win the tournament and earn a shot at the LWF World Heavyweight title next month.
