I think Havoc was being sarcastic as well. After all, who could forgot the awesome storyline of the WWE vs WCW. It's still being talked about to this day!

WWE did't want him to fail but rather the opposite, especially with his good buddy JR working in the office, they even put guys in the brawl that Williams should have walked through, however when something doesn't go as planned they make due with what they have hence Bart Gunn vs Butterbean, heck I am a huge Williams fan always have been, but if he did win the brawl tournament (like WWE wanted and planned for) the result would have been the same.

Dr. Death is my current AWA North American Champion. He went through a 16 man tournament to win the belt, and beat DLJ in a rematch of the tournament final. I was shocked that Williams beat DLJ, not once but twice. With DLJ having the same power as him, plus having the agility advantage, I thought for sure that DLJ would win. I am not disappointed, I really like Dr. Death and hope he continues to do well in my fed.

I think after he came back from the brawl from his injury, VKM set him up for the fall with that goofy mask angle.

Oh I agree after the injury trav he was set to fall, but prior to the brawl tournament he was ment to be a monster, just as a side note I think Steve Williams card is right on and I have had no complains with it, for me he has dominated.
