World Wide Wrestling 8-19-06:
airing on local networks
Hosts are Tony Schiavone and David Crockett
Schiavone: Welcome to the debut episode of World Wide Wrestling. We've got a big show for this premiere episode. You'll be seeing the Sheik, New Age Outlaws, Ilio Dipaolo, the Samoan SWAT Team, Mad Dog Vachon and Hacksaw Jim Duggan in action today.
Crockett: And don't forget Tony. We have new NWA World Six Man Tag Team Champions.
Schiavone: That's right. Last night Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams and Hacksaw Jim Duggan won the titles after an action packed tournament. We'll hear from our new champions later on today's show. But now let's head to the ring for our first match of the day...
the Samoan SWAT Team d. Tony Zane and Mike Nichols w/ the Diving Headbutt
the Sandman approaches Chris Candido in the lockerroom area.
Sandman: What's up Chris?
Candido: I've got an important match with Brad Armstrong on World Championship Wrestling tonight. If I win I can get in line for a shot at the World Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Sandman: That's great... Look, I'm working on reforming the old ECW group. And I'd like for you to come back in. And a future World Junior Heavyweight Champion would be a good addition to the group.
Candido: I don't know. I've kind of lost interest in the hardcore thing for the moment. I just want to to focus on junior heavyweight action.
Sandman; That's fine. Just remember though. If you get in our way, you'll regret it.
Ilio Dipaolo d. the Golden Terror w/ the Airplane Spin
Jim Londos joins Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: Jim Londos has been on a roll as of late in the NWA. The only star hotter in the ring right now is NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil. What would you like to say today.
Londos: You said a lot of it Tony. Bobo, I've yet to lose a match this year. I know you have a match signed with Harley Race right now. But don't forgot about me. I think I've earned a title shot and I hope you don't let me get lost in the shuffle.
Schiavone: Are things finally settled between you and Buddy Rogers? You had quite the rivalry going on for most of this year.
Londos: I'm done with it. I finally beat him in the middle of the ring at Clash of the Champions. I have nothing else to prove against him. Now it's time to use a win over a former 2x NWA World Champion to shoot myself onto bigger and better things.
Schiavone: It's time for our next match...
Hacksaw Jim Duggan d. Joe Lightfoot w/ the Flying Spear
Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams and Hacksaw Jim Duggan join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: I'm here with the NEW NWA World Six Man Tag Team Champions. How does it feel to finally hold World calibur gold?
Dibiase: Tony, it feels great. I couldn't ask for two better partners than Williams or Duggan. We're going to rule this new six man tag team division for a long time to come.
Williams: That's right Ted. It hasn't even been a day yet but I'm already hooked on the feeling. You get that taste of gold and you just never want it to end. If anyone out there wants a shot at these belts just go to the championship committee and put your names on that dotted line. We'll take on anyone, anytime, anywhere. Just work up the nerve and sign the paperwork.
Duggan: HOOOOOO!!! I've been told my entire stay in the NWA that I would never win a title. Well... take a good long look here. HOOOOOO!!!
Schiavone: Any clue to who your first challengers will be?
Dibiase: Masked Superstar, Ox Baker and the Missing Link I believe are heavily favored for the first shot.
Williams: I hope so. I would love to get in the ring with a tough guy like Ox Baker. I love to challenge myself against the self proclaimed toughest men in the world of wrestling.
Schiavone: Let's head back to the ring...
New Age Outlaws d. Lee Ramsey and Jim Jeffers w/ the Pump Handle Slam
New Age Outlaws join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: ...
Dogg: Don't worry about this Tony. I've got this under control. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Welcome to the DOGGHOUSE! The NWA probably brings to you the future NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD. THE BAD A.. BILLY GUNN, THE ROAD DOGG JESSE JAMES... THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS!!!
Dogg: Now... let's get down to some business. Billy and I are tired of waiting. The NWA has been giving us the run around about getting a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championship. They tell us to prove ourselves in the ring and then turn around and give shots to unproven teams like Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. So we went to the Championship Committee and pointed this out. As a result they gave us a slot in the NWA United States Tag Team Title Tournament that's in the near future. Well... it's not the World Tag Titles but gold is gold. So Billy and I decided we'll take the tournament slot and then defend those titles until the Championship Committee is forced to give us a shot at the World Tag Team Titles.
Gunn: And if you don't like that I've got two words for you...
Schiavone: It's time for our next match...
Mad Dog Vachon d. Frankie Williams w/ an airplane spin
NWA World Tag Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: It's strange to see you guys out here without Bobby Heenan. Is there some conflict going on.
Bockwinkel: No there's not. It's just that after the attack we suffered last week it's become apparent that Bobby isn't safe out here. The Fabulous Kangaroos are dangerous men and I really hope the NWA does the right thing and bans them.
Schiavone: So you disagree with the fines both received for their attack on you last week.
Stevens: Very much so. They attacked us with the intention of seriously injuring one of us. That's inexcusable and they should be banned for life.
Schiavone: How is that different from all of the attacks the Heenan Family has been responsible for over the years?
Bockwinkel: Let's not play this game Tony. Yes, the Heenan Family has done some questionable things over the years. But we've never... NEVER attacked someone with the intention of injuring them. It's only been a psychological tactic on our part.
Schiavone: What about back in 2004 when Harley Race put a bounty on the head of Buddy Rogers? Wasn't he offering a large sum of money to injure Rogers?
Bockwinkel: A lot of the wrestlers and tv people took that the wrong way. We were simply offering the money to push Rogers as hard as you could on tv so we could scout him out better.
Schiavone: I'll take your word for it. Anyways, back on topic. What's the current status of your first challengers for the titles?
Bockwinkel: Well, that's kind of complicated. I guess Red Berry's comments about the Midnight Express really upset Jim Cornette. And as a result Jim Cornette has started to lobby the NWA Championship Committee really hard for the first shot at the titles. And let's be honest here. The Midnight Express carry a lot more weight with the NWA Championship Committee than the Fabulous Kangaroos currently do. They have a long history with a lot of big time wins. The Kangaroos don't really have that history. So I expect to be seeing the Midnight Express against us first.
Schiavone: It's time for our next match...
the Sheik d. George South w/ the Camel Clutch
the Sheik and Abdullah Farouk join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: Is it safe to have him around the interview area.
Farouk: There is nothing to fear... at the moment. I have the Sheik under my complete control.
Schiavone: How can you control this man?
Farouk: The thing that can control any man in this world... money1 That's right. I pay him the money he wants and in return he does what I tell him to do. It's a mutually beneficial situation and he knows it. So he only mauls the men I tell him to maul. So stay on my good side Tony or you might find yourself on the Sheiks' bad side. Now excuse me. My Sheik must head to the back for his daily prayers.
Schiavone: Thanks for joining us for this edition of World Wide Wrestling. Join us next week for more exclusive NWA action.

World Championship Wrestling 8-19-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Jim Ross and Michael Hayes
Ross: Welcome to another exciting edition of World Championship Wrestling. We've got a big show for you tonight as the Crusher will take on Larry "the Axe" Hennig in our main event. Also we'll see Chris Candido and Brad Armstrong face off in junior heavyweight action. The winner will get in line for a shot at Tiger Mask and the loser will fall further down that ladder. Speaking of Tiger Mask let's head to the ring for our first match...
Tiger Mask d. Randy Barber w/ the Tiger Suplex
NWA World Tag Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with the NWA World Tag Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. Nick Bockwinkel has made NWA history. Would you like to share what that is?
Bockwinkel: Well, Jim... I am the first man in the 32 month history of the NWA to hold the NWA World Tag Team Championship with two different partners.
Ross: Quite the accomplishment.
Bockwinkel: I think the fans need to learn to appreciate just how tough it is to win a title in the NWA. You have to win match after match just to get consideration for a title shot. Now, think about it. I climbed that ladder once with Harley Race and we held those titles for 8 months. Then I climbed that ladder again with my good friend Ray Stevens.
Ross: Do you have any idea of who will be your first challengers for the titles?
Stevens: The Championship Committee has decided that the Midnight Express will take on the Fabulous Kangaroos to decide who the No. 1 Contenders will be for the titles. So we're not sure who we'll be making the first defense against.
Ross: Let's head to the ring for our next match...
the Heavenly Bodies d. Joey Maggs and Doc Dean w/ the Rocket Launcher
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: In a few weeks Bobo Brazil will be defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Harley Race.
Brazil: And I can't wait. Like I said last week. Harley Race is one of the most decorated champions in the NWA. He is the measuring stick of success in the world of wrestling today.
Ross: You had a large number of challengers. Why did you go straight for the toughest title defense?
Brazil: Because, I want Harley Race and I want him bad. He is the one man I haven't managed to get in the ring thus far. I want to be able to walk down that aisle and say that I pinned Harley Race in the middle of that ring.
Ross: Jim Londos called you out earlier today. What is your response?
Brazil: I haven't forgotten about you brother. Once I get past this title defense with Harley Race you're next on the list. So don't fear. You'll get your title shot if I manage to hold onto the belt.
Ross: It's time for our next match...
Ivan Koloff d. Stoney Burke w/ the Russian Bear Hug
Ivan Koloff joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Koloff: You see what I was saying last week?
Ross: I don't quite follow you...
Koloff: Typical. Yet again, you Americans only look out for each other. Bobo Brazil picks the American to give a title shot to.
Ross: What about the fact that you had already received two title shots this year?
Koloff: It's merely an excuse. If Harley Race wanted a third shot he would get it. Because he is an American and the Championship Committee does everything in it's power to put Americans at the top of this promotion.
the Boogie Woogie Man walks on screen.
Valiant: Hey. I've had enough of listening to you bad mouth Americans. You want to prove your Russian superiority then why don't you climb into the ring with me?
Koloff: Ok, you want to fall like all the others before you then so be it.
Valiant: Good. I'll show you that an American can kick your tail all across this great country of our's.
Ross: It's time to head back to the ring...
Road Warriors d. Jim and Mack Jeffers w/ the Powerslam
Road Warriors and Paul Ellering join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: The Road Warriors have informed me that they have some things to get off their chest. What's bothering you?
Animal: I'll tell you what's bothering us. It's the fact that the Championship Committee gives us no respect whatsoever. All this talk about who should get a shot at the tag team titles and I haven't heard us mentioned once. It's a load of crap and they know it.
Hawk: No one in the NWA has won more matches and beaten more teams than the Road Warriors. We've been all over the world and we even held those NWA World Tag Team Championships on a previous occasion. We have a proven track record of success and we're offended by not being in the running for that title shot.
Ellering: We're going to make the Championship Committee regret this injustice. You fans, you haven't seen anything yet. We're going to be twice as brutal and even more merciless to our opponents now. We're going to leave a trail of devastation in the NWA. I promised a long time ago that this team would regain the NWA World Tag Team Championship and I intend to keep it. So pay attention. You haven't seen anything yet.
Hawk: AAAHHHHHH!!! WHAT A RUSH!!!
Ross: It's time for the next match of the evening...
Fabulous Kangaroos d. Robert Reed and Ken Raper w/ the Boomerang
Larry Hennig and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: We have yet to see the Hennigs in tag team action since the reformation of the NWA. Are you guys finished as a team?
Hennan: That's a silly question to ask. They're father and son. There's no bad blood or anything. Curt just felt that he wanted to try for some singles titles and to spread his wings a little bit. We respected his wishes and allowed that to happen. Think of it as the Hennig tag team being on hiatus for the moment.
Larry: I greatly enjoyed the time I got to spend teaming with my son. You can always trust family. I told him to make me proud in singles competition. I want to see him bring the Family the Television or United States Titles when those tournaments happen.
Ross: Let's change the focus here a little. You have a big match in tonight's main event. Is this meant to be a launching pad for your own singles career or will you be looking for a new tag partner in the near future?
Larry: I haven't decided yet. I prefer tag team competition but a singles run wouldn't be bad. I think right now I'll just wrestle a few singles matches and see how I do. If I beat the Crusher tonight then I might decide to try being a singles wrestler for awhile.
Heenan: The Family will support whatever Larry decides to do.
Ross: Let's head back to the ring for more action...
Frank Gotch d. Larry Sharpe w/ the Gotch Toehold
Buddy Rogers joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: Nature Boy Buddy Rogers joins us now.
Rogers: You know Jim Ross. I heard this Pepper Gomez guy backstage. He seems to think that he's something special because he's still undefeated as a wrestler.
Ross: Being undefeated is always a feat.
Rogers: But who has the man beaten? A bunch of no name losers? I haven't heard of the guy beating anyone worthwhile in the NWA yet. So why's he bragging. I'm a former 2x NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Now, there's something you brag about. I climbed to the top of that mountain on two separate occasions. Tnat's an accomplishment. Not piling up a padded record against inferior talent.
Ross: You have to start somewhere as a new talent.
Rogers: You're right. Pepper, you want to make a name for yourself ? You want to make that undefeated streak actually mean something? Get in the ring with me and let's see what you're really made of.
Ross: It's time for our next match...
Midnight Express d. Gene Ligon and Ron Rossi w/ the Face First Leg Sweep
The Fabulous Kangaroos attack. Both teams brawl in the ring. Heffernan grabs a chair at ringside and KOs Condrey. Eaton tries to fight both men off but gets the Boomerang.
Mil Mascaras d. Paul Garner w/ the Flying Bodypress
Harley Race and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: Only a few weeks until you get the chance to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for the third time. What's going through your mind at this point.
Race: Well, the pressure's on right now. But I've shown that pressure only brings out the best in me. The belt is so close right now. I haven't been able to hold it in my hands or wear it around my waist since February of last year. Bobo Brazil has had a nice run as champion but I'm sorry, it's going to end real soon. I want the belt so bad that failure is not an option. I will do whatever it takes to once again be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Ross: Bobo Brazil hasn't lost a match in almost a year. How can you possibly compete with a man that is so hot in the ring right now?
Race: No man is invincible. Bobo might be on a hot streak right now but I hate to break it to the fans. It's going to end. Sooner or later someone will pin him 1-2-3 in the middle of that ring or make him submit. It's just a fact of life. He's faced a lot of tough opponents but he hasn't faced me.
Ross: It's time for our next match...
Brad Armstrong d. Chris Candido by DQ
Chris Candido continues to pound away at Brad Armstrong with the folding chair. Finally Bob Armstrong hits the ring and pulls the chair away from Candido. Armstrong dares Candido to attack but Candido thinks better of it and bails to the outside. Bob checks on his son and then helps him get to his feet.
Main Event: Larry Hennig d. the Crusher w/ the Axe
Ross: Join us next week for more NWA action.

NWA Main Event 8-19-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Bob Caudle and Jim Cornette
Caudle: Welcome to another edition of Main Event Wrestling. We've got an action packed show for you this afternoon. We'll have Angelo Mosca, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, Koko B. Ware and Iron Mike Dibiase will be in action. Let's head straight to the ring for our first match...
Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff d. Vernon Deaton and Rocky King w/ the Camel Clutch
Bob Armstrong joins Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: I'm here with Bob Armstrong. He's been fired up all day over what happened to his son Brad Armstrong at the hands of Chris Candido on last night's episode of World Championship Wrestling.
Bob: You're darned right I'm fired up. Chris, you couldn't beat my son in the middle of the ring so you had to resort to such disgusting tactics to try and get the win. You're lucky my son wasn't seriously injured by your actions. So I tell you what Chris. If you can muster up the courage how about you climb in the ring with me on World Wide Wrestling?
Caudle: It's time for more inring action...
Iron Mike Dibiase d. Mike Jackson w/ the Top Rope Knee Drop
Sherri Martel joins Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: I'm here with Sherri Martel. She's been scouting talent in the NWA. She's looking for wrestlers to manage. Have you found anyone that interests you yet?
Martel: I have a few favorites. It's a hard choice to make though. There are so many great "pieces" of talent in the NWA.
Caudle: Why don't you give a sales pitch to the wrestlers of the NWA and why they should let you sign them.
Martel: Thank you. Guys, if you want someone to get you to the top then I'm your woman. I can get you the big bucks, I can get you title shots and I can even give you some "extra" benefits too.
Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our next match...
Koko B. Ware d. Josh Stroud w/ a top rope dropkick
Backstage the Sandman approaches Justin Credible.
Sandman: I've been looking for you.
Credible: Is this about you reforming ECW?
Sandman: Yeah. I think it was BS that they closed us down just so they could reform the NWA as one promotion. We were really starting to shine and they took that away from us.
Credible: That's true but I'm not sure. I saw Chris rejected you and I've spent most of my recent career tagging with him.
Sandman: Forget about that loser. He was just holding you back. We can always find you a new tag partner or even better you could work in singles matches.
Credible: Has anyone else joined?
Sandman: Sabu and Doring have.
Credible: Hmmm... sure why not? You have yourself a deal.
They shake hands.
Angelo Mosca d. Mike Simani w/ the Sleeper
Caudle: Join us next week.

World Wide Wrestling 8-26-06:
airing on local networks
Hosts are Tony Schiavone and David Crockett
Schiavone: Welcome to another edition of World Wide Wrestling. We've got a big show for you today. The Killer Bees, Masked Superstar, Bruiser Brody, Konnan and the Ortons will be in action. We've also got a big main event for you as Bob Armstrong will take on Chris Candido. A lot of bad blood has developed quickly there.
Crockett: It sure has Tony. Things started on last week's episode of World Championship Wrestling when Chris Candido took on Brad Armstrong.
Highlights of the match are shown with Candido finally attacking with the chair and Bob Armstrong making the save.
Crockett: Brad escaped serious injury but Bob is out for revenge on Candido. I can't wait to see this match!
Schiavone: Let's head to the ring as the Killer Bees are in action...
Killer Bees d. Snake Brown and Randy Barber w/ the Bee Sting
The Killer Bees join Tony Schiavone for an interview
Schiavone: An impressive win for the Killer Bees today. What do you guys think of this battle over a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championship?
Blair: I can't blame any of them. We've worn those belts and it's a great experience. This is what happens when you develop a championship into being so prestigious. People are going to want it more than anything else.
Brunzell: I agree completely. We thought about getting involved but then we figured it was better to just let all these teams beat on each other and then slide in and take out the survivor.
Schiavone: The NWA United States Tag Team Title Tournament will be coming up soon. Are you guys interested in that?
Blair: We've been given a slot in the tournament. After all, we were the first ever NWA United States Tag Team Champions.
Brunzell: Yeah, a lot of people forget that fact. We're looking forward to the tournament. A lot of world class teams are entering and we'll get to really test ourselves against them. Plus, having those belts is leverage to get a shot at the World Tag Team Titles.
Schiavone: Bruiser Brody is in action next...
Bruiser Brody d. Mark Kyle w/ the Jumping Knee Drop
Bruiser Brody and Sir. Oliver Humperdink join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: The House of Humperdink is the newest group in the NWA. Would you care to explain your group to the people at home.
Humperdink. Sure thing Tony. It is merely a group formed by all the wrestlers I have signed in the NWA. They will of course be helping each other out. It's always nice to have people you can trust and depend on.
Schiavone: Who have you signed since joining the NWA?
Humperdink: Well of course the man standing behind me. Bruiser Brody is shall we say the singles star of the group. He's going to bring us the NWA World Heavyweight Title. My other members include Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, Ox Baker and the Samoan Island Tribe.
Schiavone: It seems odd that Bruiser Brody would agree to have a manager. He seems to wild and uncontrollable.
Brody: That's easy Tony! You see, this man pays me a lot of money for my services. That makes listening to him real easy. And the NWA was never eager to give Brody title shots in the past and this man has promised to lead me all the way to the top.
Schiavone: Coming up, the Ortons in tag team action...
the Ortons d. Mulkey Brothers w/ the Piledriver
Diamond Dallas Page joins Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: I'm here with DDP. The hardest working man in pro wrestling. He was announced as a participant in the 32 man tournament for the NWA United States Championship. How do you like your chances of winning?
DDP: There's some tough competition in that tournament. I mean Bruiser Brody, Steve Williams, Ted Dibiase and the list just keeps going on. A lot of the guys in this tournament have tasted greater success in wrestling than I have...
Schiavone: It sounds like you don't have a lot of faith in...
DDP: I wasn't done yet. Yes, these men have had more success in wrestling than I have. Yes, a lot of these guys are probably more talented than I am. But I have the greatest equalizer there is. The Diamond Cutter! If there's one thing I've shown the world. It's that I can hit the move from anywhere and that all it takes is one. So we'll see what happens. I could just surprise all the oddmakers and take home the gold.
Schiavone: Konnan in singles action, coming up...
Konnan d. Jim Jeffers w/ the Tequila Sunrise
The Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant joins Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: Last week the challenge was issued. It will be Ivan Koloff vs. the Boogie Woogie Man at a future date. What motivated you to lay down the challenge?
Valiant: I was sick of sitting in the backstage area and hearing Koloff blame all of these people for his own failings. Brother, you might not like America but that's not the reason you aren't getting a title shot. You aren't getting a title shot because you couldn't close the deal twice. You had your chances and you didn't get the win. So stop crying and start wrestling.
Schiavone: When we come back the Masked Superstar will be in singles action...
George South d. Masked Superstar w/ a cross body block
Masked Superstar hits the celebrating George South from behind. He clubs away with a series of forearms and then applies the Cobra Hold until South passes out. Superstar tosses the passed out South to the floor.
Main Event: Bob Armstrong d. Chris Candido by DQ
Candido goes for the chair again but Brad Armstrong runs out and tosses him into the ring. The Armstrongs take turns pounding on Candido until Justin Credible runs out and pulls him to the flood.
Schiavone: Join us next week for more NWA action.

World Championship Wrestling 8-26-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Jim Ross and Michael Hayes
Ross: Welcome to another exciting edition of World Championship Wrestling. Bringing you wrestling like only the NWA can. We've got an action packed night of wrestling for you. In the main event the Mongols will take on the Road Warriors. This is an important match in the rankings for the World Tag Team Championship.
Hayes: It sure is Jim Ross. The Mongols have been on a tear since debuting a few months ago. They're looking to break into the coveted top 10 contenders list. On the other side of the ring we've got the Road Warriors. They were with us last week and complaining about being overlooked for a title shot. They'll be looking to show the world that they really were overlooked. It should be a real brawl tonight.
Ross: We also have the Flying Redheads taking on the Vachons. Also in action will be Jimmy Snuka, Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams, Don Muraco, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, the Valiants, Pepper Gomez, Jim Londos and the Mountie. So let's head to the ring as Pepper Gomez will kick off the action this week.
Pepper Gomez d. Randy Barber w/ the Mexican Cradle
Pepper Gomez joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with the undefeated Pepper Gomez. What is your response to Buddy Rogers? He's been saying that you've padded your record against inferior competition.
Gomez: I don't see how you could get to the level of the NWA and be an inferior wrestler. This is the place where the best wrestlers in the world are. So everytime I come out here and get the win I'm beating the best the world has to offer. If Buddy Rogers wants a match with me, he can have it. Just name the time and the place and I'll be there.
Ross: The Valiants are in tag team action, NEXT...
the Valiants d. Jim and Mack Jeffers w/ the Spinning Neckbreaker
Captain Lou Albano and the Valiants join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with the Valiants. Rumor is that you've been given a slot in the upcoming NWA United States Tag Team Title Tournament.
Albano: We sure have. As former U.S. Tag Team Champions we got an automatic bid into the tournament.
Ross: You look really excited about it.
Albano: I'm extremely excited about it. You see... we've been spinning our wheels as a team lately. We haven't held championship gold in over a year and we really haven't been relevant in wrestling for that long either. We've just kind of gone from match to match and just wandered aimlessly in the tag ranks. Well, that's going to change with this tournament. Because we're going to walk into that tournament and we're going to take home the gold.
Johnny: Our goal is to one day become the NWA World Tag Team Champions. We've fallen short of that goal thus far. We've lacked focus. We're going to use this tournament to get serious and start working towards our goals.
Ross: Jimmy Snuka is in action after these commercial breaks...
Jimmy Snuka d. Frankie Williams w/ the Superfly Leap
Harley Race and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with the current No. 1 Contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. He'll be challenging for the title in the next few weeks. We haven't seen you in a lot of action lately. Is there a reason for that.
Heenan: We've just been limiting him in the ring until his World Title shot. Everytime he gets in the ring is a risk for injury. And I will not been robbed of this title shot. So we're going to keep him out of the ring as much as possible so he's healthy and ready to take on Bobo Brazil.
Ross: How do you feel about this?
Race: I'd rather be getting some matches in before the title match. I don't want to get too rusty and come out of the gate slow. But they call Bobby the Brain for a reason. His arguments for this course of action were very logical. I don't want to suffer an injury before facing Bobo Brazil. I'd rather see limited action for the next couple of weeks and be healthy for the match.
Ross: Let's head back to the ring as Jim Londos is in singles action...
Jim Londos d. Pete Sanchez w/ the Boston Crab
Jim Londos joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: You look like you have something to say.
Londos: I do. I saw this Abdullah Farouk guy out here with that bully the Sheik a few weeks ago. I have a problem with these guys that get in a wrestling ring and try to seriously hurt their opponents like that. This sport is brutal enough without guys like that trying to maul and blind their opponents. Everytime you guys sign a match and get in this ring I'll be watching you. So if you step out of line I'll be out here in a flash.
Ross: Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams in tag action NEXT...
Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams d. the Mulkey Brothers w/ the Oklahoma Stampede
Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express join Jim Ross for an interview.
Cornette: Don't worry Jim. I've got this one. Ladies and gentlemen. Allow me to introduce Beautfil Bobby and Loverboy Dennis.... the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS! And now that we're through with that. I want to talk about Red Berry and the Fabulous Kangaroos. Last week was real cute guys. Attacking us after we had just wrestled a match. And even then, you needed a chair to beat my team. If you want this to be an all out anything goes brawl we can do that. The Midnight Express has been kicking around the NWA for a lot longer than you have. We've had to fight dirty before and we're not afraid to do it again. So let's get in the ring and see who really is the top team in the NWA.
Ross: Don Muraco is in action next...
Don Muraco d. Josh Stroud w/ the Hawaiian Hammer
Ivan Koloff joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with Ivan Koloff. Last week you and the Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant agreed to a match against each other. Is this going to be a distraction from your quest to gain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship?
Koloff: Not at all. Everyone has been saying to win more matches. So that is what Ivan will do. Beating a man the calibur of Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant will only get me closer to that goal. I will destroy him and then win the NWA United States Title Tournament.
Ross: Is winning the United States Title a key part of your plan?
Koloff: Yes. The United States Champion can get an automatic title shot for the World Championship. It could take months to earn another shot at the title. But if I win the United States Championship I could get a shot in a matter of weeks. I know Bobo Brazil has written me off as a non-threat but I will get another shot at his title and take it from him. I will prove once and for all that Russian has the superior athletes.
Ross: The Mountie in action coming up...
the Mountie d. Ken Raper w/ the Short Choke Slam
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: An interesting strategy from your challenger. How do you feel about Harley Race staying out of the ring to stay healthy for his title match.
Brazil: I think he's taking a serious risk of developing some ring rust. This is a sport that's built on timing more than anything. And if he's thrown off by even just a little bit it could cost him huge in a big match like this will be.
Ross: So you think he should just wrestle a normal schedule?
Brazil: At least a consistent enough schedule so that doesn't happen. He's going to have to be in top condition. We've talked about this for the last several weeks but I haven't lost a match in over a year. Think about that. A year without a loss in a match. You think you can just waltz in with barely wrestling a match and be the one that finally ends my winning streak.
Ross: Ed "Strangler" Lewis in action next...
Ed "Strangler" Lewis d. Keith Robertson w/ the Strangler's Headlock
Backstage the Fabulous Kangaroos and Midnight Express argue while being held back by security. Jim Cornette challenges them to a match for next week's main event. Red Berry agrees to it.
the Vachons d. the Flying Redheads w/ the Piledriver
the Vachons continue the beatdown. Butcher uses a leather strap to hang Red Bastien over the top rope and Mad Dog gives Billy Lyons a second piledriver. Mad Dog grabs a chair and gets ready to give Billy Lyons a piledriver right on the chair when the Crusher runs out. He levels Mad Dog with a right hand and then nails Butcher with the Crusher Bolo. They try to get back in but the Crusher grabs the chair and they bail back to the floor.
Main Event: Road Warriors d. the Mongols w/ the Doomsday Device
The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: A tremendous win for the Road Warriors here on World Championship Wrestling!
Ellering: NWA Championship Committee. I hope you were watching this. We just decimated a team thought to be unbeatable live on television. Now how can you possibly justify passing my team over in favor of the Fabulous Kangaroos or the Midnight Express. The Fabulous Kangaroos don't have a win like this on their resume.
Animal: We've just shown everyone why we've been the best team in the NWA and the world the past few years.
Hawk: Do you need more convincing? Throw any team you want in front of us and we'll beat them just like we beat the Mongols. We will not be denied this time. We want a title shot and we want it now. OOOOOOOHHHHH WHAT A RUSH!!!
Ross: We're out of time for this week. Join us for next week's show.

NWA Main Event 8-27-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Bob Caudle and Jim Cornette
Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of NWA Main Event. We've got a big show for you this afternoon. We've got Diamond Dallas Page, S.D. Jones and George South, Buddy Rose and Ox Baker in action. There are some very important matches on today's show if you ask me.
Cornette: There's no doubt about that Bob Caudle. DDP is looking to head into the NWA United States Title Tournament with a tide of momentum. And a win over Larry Sharpe tonight will give him just that. Larry Sharpe hasn't had a lot of luck thus far in the NWA but he's a dangerous man.
Caudle: One shot with that piledriver of his and you won't be getting up.
Cornette: I expect DDP to win but Sharpe could score the upset.
Caudle: And we did just see George South score a pinfall victory over Masked Superstar in a huge upset on World Wide Wrestling.
Cornette: Yes we did. Can lightning strike twice in one weekend.
Caudle: We have Buddy Rose in singles action to start us off tonight...
Buddy Rose d. Stoney Burke w/ the Bombs Away
Sherri Martel joins Bob Caudle for an interview.
Martel: Buddy! Buddy, come over here for a minute!
Buddy Rose appears on screen.
Caudle: What's this all about?
Martel: I would like to announce that I've signed my first wrestler to manage. Playboy Buddy Rose!
Caudle: Wow, that's a terrific signing for you. Why did you decide to sign with Sherri Martel?
Rose: Because, the Playboy just isn't the Playboy without a pretty lady at his side. And how could I argue with her sales pitch? I want title shots, I want more money and I want all of those extra "benefits" that she was offering. The fact of the matter is simple. Being a talented wrestler in the NWA is just not enough anymore. There are a ton of guys out there that are just as talented and you get lost in the shuffle. The smart wrestlers like me make sure they get a manager like Sherri Martel. They give us some extra pull with the Championship Committee and let us focus on just winning matches. So it was really a no brainer.
Martel: You're looking at a future champion in this company and I'm going to be the one to take him to the top.
Caudle: S.D. Jones and George South will be in tag action coming up next...
S.D. Jones and George South d. the Gambler and Robert Reed w/ a power body slam
Chris Candido, Justin Credible and Tammy Sytch are backstage with a mic.
Credible: Brad and Bob Armstrong. You just made the biggest mistake of your life. You've reunited us as a tag team.
Candido: There's going to be no more double teaming me. No more saving each other. The odds are even now. So let's see how brave you guys really are. Why don't you work up the nerve and get in the ring with us?
Caudle: Ox Baker will be in action coming up next...
Ox Baker d. Mike Jackson w/ the Heart Punch
Sir. Oliver Humperdink and Ox Baker join Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: Another win for the House of Humperdink. You've brought together quite the assortment of talent here.
Humperdink: Why thank you. Right here is a man that's needed direction for his entire NWA career. He's drifted aimlessly and failed to live up to his potential. Men should quake when they have to get into the ring with this man. His Heart Punch has sent many a man to the hospital. Now, with my guidance he will achieve this. He will be a force that no one will be able to stop!
Caudle: Diamond Dallas Page up next...
Diamond Dallas Page d. Larry Sharpe w/ the Diamond Dream
Caudle: Join us next week for more exciting action on NWA Main Event!
