JWA SIEGE OF THE WINTER TOUR

The JWA announced it will hold their Iron Man tournaments on the upcoming Siege of the Winter Tour instead of waiting until early spring.

The Iron Man and Iron Team winners will be at WrestleMania for a one-night Iron Man Tournament with the winners from the IWF, ICW and NAWA.

Japan is proud to have World champion Frank Gotch appearing on the tour. The world championship and Nick Bockwinkel's All-Asia title, as well as Greg Valentine and Larry Zbyszko's All-Asia tag team titles will be defended in every match the title holder has throughout the tournament.

This the start of the third tour for Japan Pro Wrestling Association! The Siege of the Winter Tour is highlighted by the Iron Man and the Iron Team Tournaments. The winners will advance to Wrestlemania and face the winners from ICW, NAWA and the IWF in a one-night Iron Man Tournament. In addition, the JWA All-Asia championship and the All-Asia tag team titles are on the line in every match the champion has. The JWA is also honored to have the NWA World champion here and his belt will be defended in every match as well.

Criminal Justice def. Danny Hodge & Angelo Poffo by D.Q.

A surprising ending given who the particpants were. Benett Cole started it out and never did make a tag to Rocky Reynolds. Angelo Poffo tagged in Danny Hodge, and he missed in the corner and fell to the floor. Cole followed him and Hodge just went out of control on the outside with his attack. The bell was rang.

Marion Fontaine def. J.J. Dillon

A very shot one here as Dillon got hit with some lefts and a neckbreaker and was pinned.

Ron Hutchison def. Bill White

A great turnaround for a win in this one. Bill White completely annhilated Hutchison for over 10 minutes, but couldn't put him away. Hutchison came out of nowhere to win with the Shediac Lobster Trap. (Hutchison 3 coins)

Big Sue Jackson & Michael Kai Rayne def. Mike Graham & Henry Irslinger

Size won out over speed in this one. A total combined weight of 635 lbs. was far too much for Mike Graham, as Irslinger was never tagged in. Sue Jackson used the Close Chave and Rayne won with the Rayne of Pain.

Dan Severn def. Rex Havoc

"The Beast" is in a bad mood after being removed from the Iron Man Tournament to allow George Hackenschmidt in. Rex Havoc didn't give him an easy time though. Severn did take over and force a submission for the victory (Havoc 3 coins).

John Pesek & Evan Lewis def. Matt Cross & Jeff King

Some good back and forth wrestling but it ended quickly when Pesek used a lateral press keylock on King.

IRON TEAM TOURNAMENT

The Kangaroos def. Dan Spivey & Giant Bernard

A disappointing outing by the big men as the 'Roos never allowed them to tag. Spivey was cut off and took some double teams before being pinned.

Giant Baba & Don Leo Jonathan def. The Love Brothers

The big men were on top here. The Love Brothers were without any offense. Baba nailed the Neckbreaker Drop twice on Hartford Love for the win.

The Ortons def. The Super Destroyers

A great win for Bob Sr. and Bob Jr. The teams looked evenly matched but the Ortons got things going. Orton Sr. damaged the neck of the Masked Superstar with repeated piledrivers to win the match.

Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito def. Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan

A shocker here as Rikidozan never made a tag. Mr. Saito set Dozan up and Mr. Fuji repeatedly landed the Banzai Drop until getting the pin (Rikidozan 3 coins).

ALL-ASIA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Blackjacks def. The Enforcers (ch)

Their first match in JWA and the Blackjacks - Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack DiBiase, win the All-Asia tag team titles. It was good match going back and forth. Mulligan scored the upset with the Claw on Greg Valentine.

IRON MAN TOURNAMENT

Iron Sheik def. Ed Lewis

"The Strangler" had the upperhand most of the time but the Iron Sheik came back. Lewis fought off the Camel Clutch but the Iron Sheik went back to it and got the submission.

George Hackenschmidt def. Steve Williams

The former World champion came up with a big win to start the Iron Man. Dr. Death was not happy with how this one went. Hackenschmidt worked on the legs and beat Doc withh a twisting heel hook.

Johnny Valentine def. Harley Race by D.Q.

This was a great contest and no clear advantage by either man. Both were on top and down, using finishers and kicking out. The fight started going outside though and it was Race who was disqualified. (Valentine 4 coins, Race 3 coins)

Buddy Rogers def. Curt Hennig

"The Nature Boy" didn't want to screw around and went to work against Mr. Perfect. Hennig was on the defensive in and out of the ring. Rogers won with the Figure Four.

Nick Bockwinkel def. Frank Gotch (World ch)

Title for title. Nick Bockwinkel took the belt away from Gotch who only just won it five days ago at Survivor Series. Bockwinkel fought off the offense of Gotch and kep the pressure on. The sleeper finally ended the match and Bockwinkel is a two-time World champion. (Gotch 4 coins).

A very good tag team opener. Dillon took a solid beating but got the tag. Wild Bill White beat Rayne with a Russian leg sweep and running power slam.

John Pesek & Evan Lewis def. Mike Graham & Henry Irslinger

Lewis and Pesek were in complete control of this one. Pesek took care of Irslinger with a fireman's carry slam.

Benett Cole def. Danny Hodge

Last week in tag action Hodge was DQed on the floor with Cole. This time the Black Sheep laid a beating on the junior heavyweight. Hodge was tough but Cole hammered him with all his moves and the Blackout multiple times to get the win.

Dan Severn def. Angelo Poffo

Severn is on fire and still unhappy about not being in the Iron Man. Poffo took a brutal beating and kept fighting. Severn had this one taken care of though. (Poffo 5 coins)

Antonio Inoki, Rikidozan, Giant Baba & Don Leo Jonathan def. The Kangaroos, Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito by D.Q.

The fan favorite were rolling in this one. Jonathan tossed everyone around the ring. It was Roy Heffernan that got DQed.

IRON MAN TOURNAMENT

Frank Gotch def. Curt Hennig

Mr. Perfect took on the former World champ as Gotch lost to Bockwinkel last week. Gotch was methodical in working on the leg. Hennig was in trouble and the Gotch Toehold ended the match.

Steve Williams def. Ed Lewis

Dr. Death pulled this one out of nowhere. The Strangler locked on the headlock and Williams was going nowhwere. Doc wouldn't go down and got a chance to hit the floor and nailed Lewis. The Oklahoma Stampede pinned Lewis. (Williams 4 coins)

Iron Sheik def. Johnny Valentine

The Iron Sheik dominated this one. Johnny V fought back but the Iron Sheik wore him down over time and won with the Camel Clutch.

Harley Race def. Buddy Rogers

Harley Race came to Japan to continue the feud with Buddy Rogers. Race came out and nearly killed the Nature Boy. Three piledrivers in a row ended this one.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
JWA ALL-ASIA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
Nick Bockwinkel (ch) def. George Hackenschmidt

A tremendous world title event. Former title holder George Hackenschmidt came oh so close to taking it back. Bockwinkel showed guts and heart and he surived a great attack and was able to beat Hackenschmidt with the Figure Four. (Bockwinkel 6 coins)

Two more newcomers to JWA. Bruiser Costa used the Claw to defeat Frank Dalton.

A very good tag team encounter. Bennet Cole and Rocky Reynolds battled it out but seemed to be on the defensive a lot. Angelo Poffo was able to score the fall on Reynolds.

Hodge turned Pesek over to Severn and the Wakigatame ended the match.

Some big men hammered away on each other in this one. It was a pretty close match but the Masked Superstar put Giant Bernard down with a spinning neckbreaker.

The Love Brothers def. Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki by D.Q.

This was a great match. In the end the fans were definitely not happy. Inoki and Dozan really dominatd the fight. The Love Brothers were able to keep coming back. They stayed alive and repeated double team moves finally finished off Rikidozan with the double slam. (Love Brothers 8 coins)

The Enforcers def. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito

The fans aren't big on either team so they cheered for the Japanese duo. Fuji and Saito barely had any offense at all. Valentine and Zbyszko bounc back from losing the All-Asia tag team titles with a win after multiple elbow smashes by the Hammer on Saito.

Kangaroos def. Giant Baba & Don Leo Jonathan

A great match that had the fans irate! The Roos took a ton of punishment. They made pin saves and Wild Red Berry constantly interferred in this one. The Roos hung in there and turned the match around. With Don Leo Jonathan down, Baba interferred and was disqualified after double teaming against the Roos.

The Ortons def. The Blackjacks (ch)

A great match and the titles change hands again. Four rough and tough guys went back and forth. All four were up and down with chances to win. After a piledriver by Orton Sr., Orton Jr. landed a splash to pin Blackjack Mulligan and win the All-Asia tag team titles!

The technical abilities of Irslinger took over in this one. Dillon escaped defeat several times but Irslinger won with a flying headlock. (Dillon 5 coins).

Evan Lewis def. Jeff King

Another one-side match here. Evan Lewis dominated and finally beat Jeff King with a twisting footlock. (King 4 coins).

Criminal Justice def. Big Sue Jackson & Michael Kai Rayne

A lot of big guys going at it in this one. Bennet Cole took some damage but tagged in Rocky Reynolds. Michael Kai Rayne fought off the attack but Reynolds kept using the top rope to get the pin.

Wild Bill White def. Marion Fontaine

The wild one, Bill White, took care of things in this one. Fontaine never got anything going. A couple power slams brought White the win.

Rex Havoc def. Frank Dalton

The Lone Wolf comes up with a big win. Rex Havoc took control and hamered on Dalton. Dalton came back and this one really got good. Both men kicked out of finishers but Havoc got the win with the Killprey.

Bruiser Costa def. Ron Hutchison

Hutchison had this one going his way. Costa turned the tide outside the ring. The Bruiser belted Hutchison with a foreign object and got the win.

Matt Cross def. John Pesek

Cross comes up with the upset, using the Bow and Arrow.

Danny Hodge & Dan Severn def. Mike Graham & Angelo Poffo

A real fast ending. Hodge blasted Graham with a dropkick for the pin.

IRON MAN TOURNAMENT

Ed Lewis def. George Hackenschmidt

A purists match all the way and a great one. The Strangler really controlled the match and avoided the Russian Bear Hug. Lewis applied the Strangler's Headlock for quite awhile, but Hackenschmidt held on and stayed away from it after that. Lewis finally wore the Russian out with a full nelson. (Hackenschmidt 6 coins).

Harley Race def. Frank Gotch

Gotch didn't get much going in this one. Race went to work on the former world champion and a piledriver ended it.

Steve Williams def. Johnny Valentine

A great win for Dr. Death. The two fought on the floor before the Doctor delivered an Oklahoma Stampede to get the three.

Buddy Rogers def. Iron Sheik

The Nature Boy had the upper hand but the Iron Sheik fought hard and wouldn't go away easily. Rogers won with the Figure Four.

Curt Hennig def. Nick Bockwinkel (ch)

An unbelievable match as Curt Hennig was determined to take the gold, but Bockwinkel fought like the true champion he is. Hennig wouldn't stop bringing the offense. Bockwinkel was on the defensive and kept avoiding defeat. Bockwinkel nearly pulled it out with a figure four and then the sleeper. Hennig nailed the Perfect Plex to become the new World champion! (Bockwinkel 6 coins)

Criminal Justice def. Marion Fontaine & Matt Cross

This was a pretty good tag team opener. The teams went back and forth. Rocky Reynolds came close to being counted out of the ring. Reynolds got the tag and Benett Cole downed Cross wtih a senton bomb.

Dan Severn def. Mike Graham

Another nice matchup as Graham was able to stay with Severn on the mat. It was the Beast however that locked in a hold for the submission.

Bruiser Costa def. Rex Havoc

A pair of big tough guys hammered on each other in this one. Costa managed to get the upperhand but Havoc kept fighting back. Costa's Claw hold didn't end the contest. They fought on the floor but the end came when Costa leveled Havoc off the ropes.

J.J. Dillon & Bill White def. Ron Hutchison & Frank Dalton

Dillon and White worked over Hutchison for quite some time. Dalton had some offense going but Dillon dropped an elbow for the win.

Danny Hodge def. John Pesek

Danny Hodge really dominated this one. Pesek could not find an opening for any offense. Hodge came out on top with the sleeper.

IRON TEAM TOURNAMENT

The Love Brothers def. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito

The Japanese duo never got on track in this one. The Love Brothers took control and worked over Mr. Saito. The teams made some tags but a neckbreaker by Hartford Love put Saito away.

Blackjacks def. Giant Bernard & Dan Spivey

This match started out with Blackjack Mulligan laying it to both Spivey and Bernard. He couldn't get the pin and stayed in the ring too long. Spivey and Bernard then took it to Mulligan. When Ted DiBiase got in he put away Bernard with the figure four and then a couple shots with a loaded glove.

The Super Destroyers def. Giant Baba & Don Leo Jonathan

Another great meeting between these teams. The Destroyer and the Masked Superstar controlled the action. Both Baba and Jonathan were in a lot of trouble but kept the match going. The Destroyer was able to get a submission from Baba. (Baba 4 coins, Jonathan 4 coins)

Kangaroos def. Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki

The Japanese team were in charge most of the match. The Roos rallied and won after the Boomerang.

ALL-ASIA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Enforcers def. The Ortons (ch)

The Enforcers lost their belts in the first match of the tournament. They fought hard to get them back here. The Ortons were on top against Larry Zbyszko. Greg Valentine came in and locked the figure four on Orton Sr. to win the match and regain the All-Asia tag team titles!
