It's not too early... if there are going to be two or three insert sets a year , we'll probably see the 1st one in the fall.
I agree the main event scene is pretty full, so that unless guys leave it would be unlikely to add a major star... I could see a major tag team though, for sure.
I'd like to know about Nicodemus, but I think that'll come a little ways down the road... that should be BIG, and another big event after just starting the new version of ACE would be a bit much.

I really dig Witchdoctor too....I'd be interested to see if he remains simply lower-card material, or if his story will grow.
Primeval Destruction is emerging as one of my favorite teams. I've always liked Warfare, and Hybrid is coming along well. Giving him gradual intelligence opens up doors for him. Keeping him at an unthinking fighting machine would have relegated him to just another of that type (there have been many in COTG history).

I'm hoping that the 5 new cards are entirely new cards. I'd love to see Witchdoctor updated at some point but not in the first set.

Just to make sure it's clear, the new cards will be entirely new cards in the sense that they will have brand spanking new art, whether or not they're upgrades. So even if one of the new cards is an upgraded character, it'll be a full-on upgrade like we're used to when someone gets a new card.
You'll also get several tweaks in each insert edition, as well, where a pre-existing character will get tweaked up or down as part of his natural progression. I'd guess that if a character like Witchdoctor gets upgraded in the first set, it'll probably be through this method, and that'll probably be a minor upgrade.

I got my digital hands on the new aCe set yesterday and I wanted to chime in on my first impressions of the set.
I'll start by agreeing with Wildfire on his assertion of The Six. I think the faction unbalances the roster of stables in the aCe, mostly because the rest of the stables in the fed are made up of 3 wrestlers (with the exception of The New School). however I do like the idea of a stable that exists solely to battle the heels of the fed.
I can take or leave the ROC. The Holy War is over, so in my mind, they don't really have much of a reason to still exist in the aCe.
That brings me to Ventross..who I feel is just kind of there. I would kind of like to see him retire since to me, he really doesn't have any direction in the new aCe. But Wildfire's idea of putting him with either Omni or Odyssey in a feud with Nemean and one of the Others would be really cool and would easily clear up his "Lack of direction". At the very least it would give him a reason to still be around.
Speaking of Omni and Odyssey, I love the idea behind the fact that they will both be competing for the Essence in order to "still exist". Brings a cool dynamic to their tag team and gives this promoter a lot of options as far as angles go.
The update for Amazing Mann is awesome, especially the idea of his "Unbreakable" tour. Really cool Osk..major props on that one. I for one was against bringing in any established GWF talent, but Osk did such a great job with AM, I have absolutely no complaints. Bravo.
Character wise, I feel this is the weakest of the four aCe sets. But with that being said, I think Pendragon is one of the coolest wrestlers Osk has ever created, so IMO it balances out pretty well. Thats not even mentioning Nes Kincade who I think is absolutely great. Props on the Nemean update as well.
Guys like Witchdoctor and Scud have a lot of potential, but to me just kind of seem to be there. I look forward to seeing how Osk handles these characters and developes them in coming editions. I still have faith.
My only REAL complaint of the set is the lack of cool card mechanics. That was what made aCe so great (that and the story) and with 2123 most of them are out the door. The stats still look great though, so I guess it's a minor complaint.
The art as always is a homerun...no complaints at all.
Overall, this new aCe set reinforces the reason behind why I only follow the aCe sets. The GWF and POW sets are great and all, but aCe brings something else to the table. Whether it be the fresh approach or the great characters, the aCe is my favorite FP product by far. I look forward to jumping ahead to 2123 and playing some All Centra Entertainment.
Mark the F*** out!:-)

I agree about the card mechanics, but after I thought about it.. alot of those mechanics don't make sense anymore... no more zombies... no more supernatural guys... for one. What I did like alot what that there were story reasons for the changes for the most part, which was really cool.
The only 'simplification I didn't like was Sycophant.. I really liked that mechanic, and I think the change is a pretty signifigant upgrade... but I have hope that there's a story coming there.

I understand what you're saying about the mechanics. But I think that they could of remained, just slightly altered.
Take Shepard's finisher mechanic for example.
Instead of Exorcism being more effective against S type characters, it would be more effective against heel wrestlers, and as a result, less effective against face wrestlers. (ie : a better chance to hit against heels and a lower chance to hit against faces.)
I hope that makes sense.
Stuff like that. I think most of the mechanics could be kept, just altered a little bit to reflect the new aCe enviroment.
Like I said before, its not a big complaint. I fully expect to see Osk introduce some new mechanics in the future though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ventross return to the GWF being that the portals are remaining open!

I think the portals remaining open makes a feud between ACe and GWf a very interesting angle .
Can you imagine what potential feuds they could have Monolith v Peacemaker or The Gladiators v Primeivel Destruction. I am due my ACe this week and think its the way i may go for a while . I will use the Amazing Mann for ACe to get a foothold by conning Strutter .

Won't be this insert but maybe the next, can't wait for Trisis to have Murdok's zombie baby, and Aegis goes into denial saying its his. Like I said not this insert but maybe the next one.
